GIADA
It was safe to say that Allison Davies was freaking out.  And this was not her usual daily freak out that she didn't have the right ingredients  to make dinner or that Roger fell down and bumped his head.  No this was a major freak out.  Major as in Sam was going to be super upset.   And not super upset but it was ok because he'd forget about it in the morning but super super won't forget about it upset.

She was at the Apothecary for all of two minutes before Giada flew in, grabbed her by the wrist and started running towards where they kept the  pregnancy tests. "Giaaa, maybe this isn't a good idea.  I mean, I could be just over reacting.  I dunno."  Ally stared at the tests.  Either way this wasn't going to turn out well.  Well one result would be less problematic but still.  She wanted another baby.

"I just don't know.  It could be the flu."

Giada Vance was not the person you went to when you wanted to not freak out. She really didn't understand why people continued to, as it was RIDICULOUSLY HARD for her to not freak out herself! Maybe she was good at hiding it from the other person?? No, no there was no way you could hide high-pitched voices and frantic flailing and overall freak out mode.

Maybe it was because her freak outs got things done. Like--see! Ally didn't think this was a good idea, but what was she going to do? Wait and see if she popped out a baby in nine months? No! She totally needed to find out now! If she took the test and found out she wasn't pregnant, then she would have no reason to be worried!

And if she was pregnant? Then ohmygod.

"You need to find out!" she squeaked, not noticing how hard she was tugging her sister along. Giada pressed her heels into the ground as she finally spotted the potions, and her eyes widened at the large amount of choices. "Er---I've never done this before!"

"Well neither have I! Last time I just went to the healer with-- I suppose we could get a couple of different types, you know, just to make sure." Ally said with a sigh as she grabbed a couple of bottles.

She glared at the woman behind the counter who was ringing them up. How dare she look at her like she was some teenage girl trying to hide the fact she was pregnant from mummy and daddy. She was married and it was perfectly acceptable for her to be pregnant. She made sure she picked up her bag with her left hand. Old bag, what did she know anyways.

A few minutes later she was locked in the bathroom of the small, empty cafe with Giada. Ally was pretty sure that she was just as freaked out as she was but who else could she turn to. "Well here goes nothing." Ally said downing the first potion. She waited and nothing happened. Just as she was about to sigh with relief blue and pink sparks flew out of no where. "What does that mean? I think this one is defective. Unless both colors means that I'm not pregnant. These things make no sense. Hand me another one."

Giada's eyes shot open at the sparks. SPARKS! Sparks meant---wait. From all the pregnancy horror stories she heard (most vividly, Rachel's), you sparked blue for a boy and pink for a girl. That made sense. So...so that meant no sense. You couldn't be a boy and a girl. Wait---WAIT no, no that didn't make sense either, because---

She frowned deeply and picked up another test, tossing it toward Ally as she picked up another. They were going to have to test a million to figure out these results, because none of the boxes had anything that explained two different color sparks.

"OH!" Giada exclaimed, pulling a box close to her face. "This one says it's just like a muggle exam! That has to be straight-forward, yeah?" She continued reading the back of the test, and her face contorted in absolute horror, "YOU HAVE TO WHAT, ON A STICK?"

"WHAT?" Ally was at her wits end. She had done three different tests, all with the same results and none telling her what it meant. She snatched the box out of Giada's hands and read the box. Something about one line pregnant two lines not or something. Good no sparks. Seemed simple. Until she read more. "Oh for the love of--- really"

Ally huffed as she made her way to the toilet. At least she had to pee anyways. "This is utterly ridiculous. And you have to wait like--" she put the test on the sink (she didn't want to have to hold it the whole time) and picked up the box again. "Like five minutes."

The whole time she was waiting, Ally had this feeling. That maybe it was possible that all those test weren't defective. That there was a reason for blue and pink sparks. When the muggle test finally finished showing one line for pregnant, it all finally made sense to her.

That's when Ally started to cry. And it wasn't even happy tears like it should have been in a situation like this. These were horrified gut-wrenching, what am I going to do tears. Sam didn't even want one more baby, that meant he definitely did not want two. "Oh Gia."

"WAIT, wait----"

Giada bent over the test, not daring to touch it because--ew. One line. This test said that Ally was pregnant! Okay, this test was sure of that, so what did the two sparks mean? Two different colored sparks, one that usually indicated a boy, and the other a girl. Two sparks.

Two.

Two as in---two...babies?

Her eyes went stupidly wide as she stared down at her sister, hand quickly clapping over her mouth. Ohmygod. The two sparks meant twins? Twins! Ohhhhhhh bugger. Oh hell. Oh my God! Twins! Like Sam and Savannah! Like---like their great aunt Gretchen and Gretel! How could they not have thought of twins! This was...

"THIS IS SO EXCITING!" Giada let out loudly, throwing her hands up into the air with a squeal. She had noticed that Ally seemed quite tearful, but this was a baby---these were babies they were talking about, "YOU'RE HAVING TWINS, ALLY!!"

Ally pressed her face into her hands. She knew this was going to happen. That Giada was going to be super excited, just like she should be.

"Exactly. Twins." Her tone wasn't nearly as nice or excited as Giada's was. "What am I going to do? What am I going to tell Sam? We had this converstation not even three weeks ago, and it was decided that he didn't want another baby right now. What is he going to do when I tell him I'm pregnant with two."

Ally shoved her face back into her hands. "I knew that potion tasted off, but nooo I told myself it was fine and now look where I am."

"He's going to be happy!" Giada said assuredly, though she was now wringing her hands. She had to find a way to convince her sister that Sam wasn't going to yell and fight with her and pack his bags and leave. Because really. Sam wanted kids someday, and things like this happen! You marry for better or for worse, and while this was a bit of both, babies were always a good thing.

And then this would be it! Three babies was more than enough for anyone, and Ally would never, EVER drink funny tasting contraceptive potions again.

Oh geez, her potions always tasted funny too, what if she---Maybe she'd just sneak one of these home, to be sure.

"Sam loves you, and he loves Roger, and he's going to love these babies just the same," she said with a nod, sitting on the edge of the tub beside her sister. Giada smiled gently and clapped her hands together, "It's gonna be great!"
