Picture Perfect

Deciding to skip out on homework, Sophie grabbed her camera and headed downstairs in search of anyone. People were fun to shoot, especially when they were unafraid of looking silly. Lyta had modeled once for her, beauty shots of Lyta’s profile and such. Some of them had actually been part of the portfolio she had sent to RISD. She practically skipped down the stairs in search of anyone willing to let her turn them into art.

There was a mostly normal looking blonde woman sitting cross legged on the floor of an empty sitting room. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and the knees of her well-loved jeans were thin and fraying. At first glance, she could have been any private school student anywhere.

On second glance, the out of the ordinary things that stuck out about her were the tee-shirt she was wearing ("Magicians do it on stage") and the top hat sitting beside her with a white rabbit peering over the side as it watched her expertly shuffle a deck of playing cards.

Summer had promised Lucas she would practice, after all.

	"Yeah, pretty much." She laughed and tipped the hat a little askew on her head, smiled at the camera, and held out a hand. A bouquet of flowers appeared in the hand and when she shook it, turned into a snake that wrapped around her wrist and slithered up her arm. 	"Tricky. I like that!" She pulled the hat off and thrust her wrist with the snake wrapped around it inside. When she removed her hand, she was holding the same white rabbit by the scruff of the neck. It kicked its feet and looked balefully at the camera. Aaron was in the greenhouse reading. He was finally getting around to reading the rest of The 5 Greatest Warriors. He had only gotten halfway through the book when he had stopped for a while but since he had a couple of free hours he decided now was as good a time as any to finish the book.

Reading was also to distract himself from the fact that Cait had gotten kidnapped. Rationally Aaron knew that there wasn’t anything he could have done but still he felt like he should have been there and that he could have done something and maybe she would still be there. He felt bad that he was so focused on Cait when they had lost a bunch of other people and even the Avengers lost someone too.

Anything to keep his mind off of what happen was a good distraction to Aaron.
