Okay so. Appropriate icon is appropriate. I can't search for a job every hour that I'm awake (though I've been making sure to dedicate at least a few hours to it every day that I don't have something specifically planned). Which means that summer is INCREDIBLY FREAKING BORING WITHOUT SCHOOL. So then I saw [info]powerpuff and her epic adventures in the land of watching anime/other things to watch and decided to be a copycat and ask the same thing. I only want COMPLETED series though, as if it's a current series and not on my "watching" list, I'm probably watched an episode of it and decided I didn't want to watch more.

This will probably help with my interests--> http://myanimelist.net/animelist/wishmatrix

As for liveaction fiction, my favorite shows are Doctor Who, Buffy, Heroes, Scrubs, House (only the like... first 3 seasons or so though), Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Otomen, Gokusen, Akihabara@DEEP, Queer as Folk, uh... I'm sure there's more I'm blanking on right now.

Also, I will watch things that suck to the point that they're funny (Uraboku as an example-- you'll notice that it's rated at 3 and it's still on my "watching" list. XD)

Uhhh~ Don't suggest any movies. I have issues with getting ahold of movies because I don't like watching movies on my laptop. Like, at all. Idfk why. It's the same with manga, I like reading it in a book a million times better than reading it online. IMO. ANYWAY. Yeah! Gimme your best shot! :D And you can re-suggest things on my "plan to watch" list if you really wanna reinforce that I really should get to watching something.

Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients
Dark Chocolate- 11oz
Heavy Cream- 3.5oz
Butter (soft, unsalted)- 3.5oz
Liquor (for flavor)- 1oz

Procedure
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. In a separate pot, bring the heavy cream to a boil. The second it start boiling, pour it over the chocolate. Gently mix the butter into the chocolate-cream mixture. Mix the alcohol into the chocolate-cream-butter mixture. Let the "ganache" cool completely to room temperature, then scoop into a pastry bag or small ice cream scoop to make small balls of the ganache and freeze completely. Roll the frozen truffles in melted chocolate. Before the chocolate sets, dip the truffles in Cocoa Powder, Powdered Sugar, or Toasted Almonds. Let chocolate set, and enjoy!

Fun Fact
The origin of the term "ganache" is actually based on a man's name, according to legend. While melting chocolate, a French man named Ganache accidentally spilled heavy cream into it. His boss screamed "Ganache!" at him, and after some effort to adjust the taste, chocolate ganache was invented. Or so said my chocolate teacher.

Annd I guess the other animes that aren't a religion like Eden of the East, Azumanga Diaoh <-- TOTALLY THAT ONE, uh~ ...that's it.

Because Endless Eight was bullshit and I have no respect for a show that even tries that. XD

xD: Never liked Azumanga Daioh. I didn't put it in there b/c I don't know what episodes I watched (there were like 3 random ones) but I could never get into it for some reason... but! I will try Eden of the East!

Lawl I think I saw that while it was on TV... then I lawled and I think I quit at the end of that season. XD;

Waaah. Everything I suggested got a 'LOL NO' They are good! You feel awesome when the Eight cycle ends because the way it ends was so worth the repeating. And I like spotting the differences each episode.

Not everything! I said I'd try Eden of the East and I've already seen Heroes S3. XD

Azumanga is just nooot my thing and I know 'cause I've seen a few episodes and just couldn't get into it (much like me n'Lucky Star too).

AND. Someday, I will get to watching Haruhi. I just have to get out of my need to watch every episode in order because otherwise I'm going to end up watching an episode of Endless Eight every two months then be upset that it takes more than a year to watch. XD

Because I'm not going to rot my brains watching the same episode while I clearly remember what happened the one before it. :| I do not get satisfaction out of finishing something I shouldn't have had to put myself through. /)_(\

Yes yes. XD I love FMP.

New figures? Not really.

LAWL. Oh Godiva. They're overpriced imo. If I'm going to spend that much money on chocolate I'd rather buy a baking bar from Valrhona and make it myself. XD Much higher quality chocolate that Godiva (and made with 100% less slavery too.)

Yeah especially since I have a coupon right now for buy one get one free for the gems :| Valrhona is a really high end chocolate. We used it a lot in my chocolate class, along with fancy Belgian chocolate. :D

I see that on your "plan to watch" list you have both Jigoku Shoujo and Rose of Versailles! JS is amazing, if you have patience for repetition. I've only seen one episode of Rose of Versailles so far but I definitely recommend it! :3

Repetition like... monster-of-the-day repetition or the exact same thing every episode repetition? And yay, Rose of Versailles! I think the only reason I was putting off watching that was because of how long it is. I'll get to trying both of them though! :D

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]doodles

Repetition like same thing every episode, except for the last 3 or 4 episodes of each season (there are 3 seasons). Watch the first two or three episodes, and if you get tired of the show's formula I don't think you'll want to finish the rest. XD It's a great anime, but it's definitely not for everyone.

Really, Rose of Versailles is long? I thought it was only around 40 episodes. :o

Ahh. Well, I'll try it and we'll find out if it ends up on 'completed' or 'dropped.' ^_^;

40 episodes is a little long for my attention span. ==; I can watch things longer while they're being released, but I like to watch entire shows overnight and 40 episodes are hard to do that with... (25ish episodes is a good length for me, personally, but that doesn't mean I won't watch it if it's longer or shorter xD; it'll just take me a while to get up to watching it!)

How long is your break?

Is Yumeiro Pâtissière good? How would you rate the voice actors and the animation? Mhmmm ... pimping 5cm per second! It's my favourite How about Honey & Clover or NANA?

LOL! I like that li'l short history about ganache.

Until August sometime, so I've got loooots of time.

Yumeiro Patissiere is pretty awesome. The animation is catered toward children and the voice acting is pretty okay (Though Ichigo's-- the main character's voice does grate occasionally with the height of her pitch sometimes). It's pretty children-oriented imo, but it's entertaining and actually has a lot of fun facts that can help with culinary things. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece or anything, but it's really fun.

5cm per second is gonna go up on my list since you're the second person to recommend that to me (someone else through IM instead of Scribbld) so that's definitely going to get watched. As for Honey & Clover I'll try it b/c I've never seen it, but Nana I have to say... XD; I tried to read the manga and couldn't get past the first volume because of Hachi. I felt in my heart that my head would've exploded if I continued with her.

Right? I thought it was amusing at least. xD

Oh and to add onto Yumeiro Patissiere's description: There are magical fairies. But they don't pull bullshit and make the characters magically good at everything like the fairy from La Corda D'Oro, they work alongside the characters toward being great patissieres. I think that was probably one of my favorite things: It had adorable magical fairies but still enforces that you don't just get good at things magically, you have to work your ass off for it. I thought that was really cool, personally.

(O_o) Hachiko ... She got my sympathies initially as the wronged woman but later, she totally put me off with her constant wrong decisions about men. I mean, how ditzy can ya get?! Sheesh! I didn't finish the series, either but I enjoyed the soundtrack ~♥ ♥ I like Mika Nakashima but I felt Anna Tsuchiya should've played the role of Nana in the live-action.

Yeah I... for my part, a large part of enjoying any series is the characters so if I really cannot stand a main character (minor characters are fine) I usually can't get through it. x__x; Like when I tried to watch Tales of Eternia and OH MY GOD I got through lke 5 episodes before I couldn't stand any more of Farah and if I had to I was seriously going to bash my head against a wall. Butbut, the soundtrack sounds great. :D I like Mika Nakashima and Anna Tsuchiya both. X3 Their music is awesome. <3 I'm really picky about girl vocalists a lot of the time, but they both managed to impress me. :3
