Ok, so maybe you girls can help me out...

Whenever I take a sip of beer or have rum, I get this really awful pain in my neck, shoulders, and upper back. I usually have to lay down and wait for it to go away. It's like, a throbbing and really tense pain. have no idea why it happens and it really sucks cuz I like beer and rum lol. Plus it's just super, super painful. Any idea what might be causing it? Seriously, it happens after just a couple sips. Lame.

perhaps you've become allergic to it all of a sudden. one day my friend was eating a fruit & she just started not being able to breathe & stuff. just like that, one random day, now she's allergic to ALL fruits, veggies, & nuts. she has to take vitamins & shit.

Omg that's awful!

I haven't had anything like that but the pain is pretty terrible. It feels like... Hmm... Like something is pulling and pulling but with nowhere to go so it's just this tangled up throbbing aching knot. Blah.

there's all different types of allergic reactions, though.

why don't you drink then take some bendryl or whatever it is for allergic reactions. IF you wanna experiment yourself. if you don't ask a doctor. as far as i know, they don't test for it, you tell them your symptoms & if they can, they'll tell you what it sounds like. whether it's an allergic reaction of some sort or whatever may be the cause.

I second the "see if you're allergic", and perhaps tell your doctor the next time you have an appointment what is going on. Write down duration, type of pain (muscular? skeletal?), and get them informed. Otherwise, I'd avoid those two things until you know if it is an allergy or not, etc.

Is it just with beer and rum, or other alcoholic stuff as well? I am trying to figure out the common thing that would even link beer and rum, but I know very little about liquor processing, so it will most likely not be helpful. :(

Hope you can get stuff sorted out and feel better!

So far it's just been beer and rum... But now that I think about it, with tequila too. I think I'll ask my doctor about it. How would they test for something like that? Or would they not? Lol I just want to drink again!
