100 Questions: Ludovic Gersham Bagman

Part 1: The Basics

1. What is your full name? Ludovic Gersham Bagman

2. Where and when were you born? I was born on the 30th of March, 1961 in Birmingham, England.

3. Who are/were your parents? My parents are Emilia and Ivo Bagman. Mum is a personal assistant for a player on the Appleby Arrows. I think that she's a lot of the reason why Otto and I've been bitten by the Quidditch bug. As for dad, he works in an apothecary as an assistant. It's something he enjoys, but I can't imagine being stuck behind a counter slicing up daisy roots all day.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I have one older brother, Othello Cameron Bagman (haha, its so fun to call him that; Othello). He's an okay guy, but we get in fights a lot. I mean, it's hard not to when he's constantly pulling things on you. I really don't like the pranks he pulls, to be honest.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. Currently I live at Hogwarts in the seventh year boys dormitory, but my family is from Birmingham. I really like it at school; my roommates are Tucker Kole and Mundungus Fletcher. They're both pretty cool, but...let's be honest, Dung isn't the most trustworthy roommate to have around.

6. What is your occupation? Well, right now I'm a student, but...in the future I want to...I don't know what I want to do. I'd like to say that being a Quidditch player is my lifelong dream, but what are the chances of me getting something like that, right? I guess working for the Ministry wouldn't be so bad...I just dislike the thought of being stuck behind a desk day in and day out.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.I have blonde hair and blue eyes and am about 5'11". My mum says that my weight doesn't matter and that she is fond of my "baby fat," but I've toned out a lot of it over the past few years playing Quidditch and am currently at 215 pounds. I'm pretty casual with what I wear; as long as it doesn't smell, it's free game. I'm by no means a dressy fellow.

8. To which social class do you belong? Middle; mum brings in a good chunk of money, but she and dad never really spoiled us growing up.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? Women. They are my physical weakness. Other than that, I don't think I have any...diseases or allergies or anything.

10. Are you right- or left-handed? I am right-handed.

11. What does your voice sound like? Much better when I hear myself talking than when I hear a recording of it. It's middle-low pitched and kinda airy?

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Bloody hell, rubbish, fuck, shit...actually, any of the four letter words. I can swear like a sailor, honestly.

13. What do you have in your pockets? My wand, a few sickles, and a stick of Drooble's.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? If I'm in a bad mood I become overly dramatic. It's rather annoying but it usually goes away after a while...depending on the exact reason for my dramatics. I can't go to bed until I've checked my closet and under my bed (shut up, I don't believe in the boogeyman if that's what you're thinking, pffft). I'm overly confident in my abilities and when I talk to girls which leads people to assume that I am cocky. Which is partially true I guess.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general? My childhood wasn't that bad. Actually, it was pretty good. Mum and dad didn't mind too much if Otto and I played with other kids in the neighborhood, so we spent a lot of time playing muggle games like rugby and football. Otto thought it was funny to play pranks on me, and that caused a lot of fighting, but he never did anything to intentionally hurt me. It's all pretty funny, looking back (even though I would never tell him that).

16. What is your earliest memory? I think I was about three years old, maybe a little younger or older. Otto and I were playing outside and he said that he'd found something really neat-o, so I went over to where he was at and it was this huge frog. He threw it at me (probably because he thought it was funny) and it scared me so much that my magic fritz'd and I made the poor thing explode. He apologized and we've since laughed it off, but frogs still give me the heebee jeebees.

17. How much schooling have you had? I'm in my last year at Hogwarts right now. Mum made sure that we knew what we needed before we got there, though. We weren't in a primary school, but we had lessons and such. Not too terrible, really.

18. Did you enjoy school? I love Hogwarts; it's nice to be around other wizards and witches my age to figure things out on my own. Then again, I'm also ready for it to be all finished and done with.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? I learned most of what I know at Hogwarts. It's nearly impossible to be a proficient wizard without going to a school or anything.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. Quidditch players. They just seemed so great and wonderful, I've always wanted to be like the blokes mom worked with. I'm sure they did some rather unsavory things, like unwed pregnancy or suffered from alcoholism, but as a kid I never noticed that. In my eyes, they couldn't do anything wrong.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I got along pretty well with everyone. Otto and I had our moments, but you can say that about almost all siblings. No...Otto was a pretty decent older brother, even if he was a bit annoying at times.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to work like my mum; out in the public, either in the behind work with Quidditch, or actually out on the pitch. I like basking in the lime light, what can I say.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? I remember playing football with the other blokes from the neighborhood and going to Quidditch games. That kinda stuff...always the best.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I was precocious. Very loud mouthed and attention greedy, kinda like I am now. I needed to network with others to really be happy.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? Yeah, I was the kid everyone wanted to have milk and cookies with. Not really, but I was fairly popular considering the fact that Otto and I lived so much further away from the primary school than everyone else. I was friends with all the boys who played games and such at recess. There was this hierarchy and if I had to pinpoint myself, I'd probably be near the top...at least in the top three.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss? This girl named Julie who lived down the street from us. She was rather pretty and nice. I didn't fancy her much (I was 7 and she was 9), but she fancied me and so she kissed me. Innocent peck on the lips. I was her girlfriend for three days before I split it off with her because I'd rather be playing auror and robbers with Otto.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Not a virgin (thank Merlin). My first was this muggle girl, happened over the summer between 3rd and 4th year. She was pretty and bored, I guess. And a bit older...okay, three years older. I thought I was just getting an innocent snog in my old tree house but, well...she thought it was cute and funny that I'd never shagged a girl before. We met maybe once or twice in that same summer, but then I went to school and she ended up at a muggle uni. I've never seen or spoken to her since but man that tree house holds memories.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? Making the Quidditch team after being benched my entire 5th year. I was so upset that it happened, even though there was a logical reason behind it. But I worked hard and I know that I earned the spot on the team. Otto wouldn't just give me the spot because I'm his brother; if anything, he was harsher towards me than the others because people would likely expect me to be a shoe in because he's my brother.

30. Who has had the most influence on you? Otto. It's that big brother thing, you know? He probably doesn't realize it, but his opinion matters a lot to me and I think that people should be jealous of me because of how awesome of a person he is and he's my brother!

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Okay, either working up the courage to snog Miranda Dodderidge or making the Quidditch team again after I was benched 5th year. Probably the Quidditch. Because if it weren't for Merridew being a complete arse, that first one would've never happened.

32. What is your greatest regret? Being so unpredictable my 4th year during Quidditch. If it weren't for that, I'd probably be captain right now. Well, no...I take that back. Otto made a good choice. I think Brianna's what we need right now for the team, but I also think I could take the team to a whole new level because of my dedication that she can't because...oi, this isn't coming out right. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if I'd played my cards right, things would be so different for me right now.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Most evil thing I have ever done...Stealing money from Otto. I owed someone money and I didn't have any of my allowance from mum yet and well, Otto always said that if I ever needed help with anything...Anyways, I took about 3 galleons from him my 4th year, but I slipped it back in as soon as mum gave it to me. I've never told him about that, though. I'm sure there are more evil things that I've done but I can't think of them now.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? Not yet. Haa. I probably will after a few more months, knowing my bloody luck. I've done things that should have got me in loads of trouble, but I've managed to not get caught, if only by the skin of my teeth.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened? When Otto told me that if I jerked off too much I'd lose all my magic. Oh, it was horrible. I thought for weeks that I was a squib because I liked to masturbate. I still haven't gotten Otto back for that one, either.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? When Otto switched my wand for a piece of wood during first year. I thought that I was a squib...because I masturbated too much and that I was a squib and that they were going to kick me out of school...everyone laughed and it was awful. Simply awful.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I think I would be less of a pain in my older brother's arse. He's really good to me, honestly. I know some people who have terrible older siblings. Otto's always there for me and taking care of me...I want to be able to be there for him more than I have been.
Also, I wouldn't have made that bet on Slytherin. Bad, bad move.

38. What is your best memory? The first time I ever flew. I'm not talking about the play brooms that we had at home, I mean first year on a broomstick in the air with the wind in my face. It was so elating. I've been hooked ever since.

39. What is your worst memory? Being told that I wasn't on the Quidditch team 5th year. I was so angry at Otto for about a month because I felt like he'd stolen my spot. I've since forgiven him (not aloud, because I never actually told him about my anger) but there are times when I think about it and it still stings. I definitely had a lesson in humility and working as a team because of that. And it's made me think twice before I do something rash and stupid on the pitch.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? It depends. I'm just kinda on the fence between the two. If I'm having a good day I'm pretty optimistic, but if I've had a horrible day I'm just as quick to swing the other way.

41. What is your greatest fear? Disappointing mum and dad. I already feel like I've let Otto down in some way...I'm not even sure why I feel that way, because he would probably tell me to stop being so dramatic. I want them to be proud of me. If I did anything to let them down or ruin their image of me...I would probably cry. Or do something worse than that, I don't know.

42. What are your religious views? I can't think of a single person raised in a wizarding household who is religious whatsoever.

43. What are your political views? I don't really pay attention to politics; they aren't all that important to me. Why should I be bothered?

44. What are your views on sex? Well, obviously I wouldn't be a sane bloke if I didn't say that I really like it. I haven't really...done it in a while, but what I've had I've enjoyed.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? Vengeance. I would kill if it were something serious enough, like someone killed a family member. You don't fuck with a Bagman and get away from it, especially if you're messing with a Bagman whose name isn't Ludo.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Root for the Tutshill Tornadoes. No, seriously...kill someone for pleasure. If there's a reason like self defense that's one thing...but killing because you're bored and have nothing better to do, there is something wrong with you.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? It's a load of crock the greeting cards push on us so that we are always searching and trying to find that perfect someone. And spend lots of our money on their products in the process.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Doing something that you love. Even if you're making millions of galleons but you hate your job, you're not living it to its fullest potential.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I could probably be more honest than I am. Can you blame me, though? There's so many people that I feel like I have to please...sometimes it's easier to go along with something I hate and secretly seethe about it than to refuse it all together.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? I would like to say that I don't...but goblins have always scared me. And...they're so small and short and. Well. Hrm. I also hate Slytherin because they made me look like an arse, but who doesn't have that reason for hating them, yeah?

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I think I would refuse to throw a Quidditch match at the request of another. Just...I think that there has to be some integrity to the game and playing it. It would have to be a very desperate situation for me to do otherwise.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? My family. They're the only people I would die for currently. Probably my close friends, but that mostly includes...Miranda. I've just burnt a lot of bridges over the past year, so I don't know how to answer this anymore. I would go to extremes for Quidditch, though. Especially if it meant me getting signed. I wouldn't kill for it, but extremes most definitely.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? It all depends on my mood. If I'm in a foul mood, I'm very rude. But if things have been going well I'm generally polite. I think that knowing them changes it a lot because I know I can joke with them and they won't take offense to my joking and such.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Mum. I love her to bits and she always does everything she can to support me and encourage me to follow my dreams.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Otto, because he puts up with my sorry arse and never complains to me about it. He's so cheerful and happy and doesn't seem to let anything bother him; there are times when I wish I could handle that type of personality. And that my life didn't have so much drama so that I could actually say that and mean it.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. Ahhh, well...like I said a bit back, I don't really think I have that many friends left from all of my bridge burning. Otto. Otto is my friend, but he probably does it because he has to. He's my brother.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Nope, no significant other...no spouse. No nothing.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Never in love. I've fancied girls, for sure. But love is supposed to be different, right? I think to love someone, you have to have a connection and there has to be something returned passed platonic feelings. I've yet to really experience that.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Boobs and a vagina? Honestly, I've never gotten to the 'potential lover' stage ever since shagging Marianne. I don't even know what to look for in a potential girlfriend. I'm a hopeless cause, really.

60. How close are you to your family? Extremely close. We do so much together. Since Otto is only 18 months older, I feel a real strong connection to him. I'm not as close to extended family, but I couldn't imagine life without mum and dad in it.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? No, I haven't yet as far as I know. I don't know if I'm fit to be a father. Kids are great but the idea of being responsible for a child scares me. How can I expect something out of a kid that I can't even accomplish, you know? I guess the idea of having a family seems nice (and I would like to settle down and marry someday), but kids just don't sound like my cup of tea.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Otto. That's what big brothers are for, yeah? He's my built in lifeline and I don't know what I would do without him half the time.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Otto. Sieffre. I know that they've both got my back in a fight.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? Otto, Mum, Dad...Right now it feels like a lot of people are put off by me, but I'm sure that there would be something deep down in them that missed me. Everyone loves Ludo Bagman, after all.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? This is such a difficult question. Not because I don't despise people, just because there are so many people that I'm harboring feelings of hatred towards currently. Whoever the fuck Queen Bee is for making all of this shit so public. I sometimes think that maybe everything in the end is my fault and that I should really hate the face in the mirror but...it takes two to tango, right? So I can't put all of the blame on myself entirely.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Well, lately I've been pretty confrontational, but on a whole I don't argue unless it's necessary. I won't instigate a fight, but if it's brought to my table I'm going to deal with it.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not really, I'm more of a follower. I like letting others lead and I am more than happy to follow.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Yes, I love it. There are so many people that you can talk to intimately to get to know and at the same time if you don't like the current conversation, you can always go find someone new to talk with. Large groups are the perfect social setting in my opinion.

69. Do you care what others think of you? I try to make it seem like I don't but sometimes I get so frustrated with what goes on at school. One of the many reasons I'll be glad to leave in a few months.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Quidditch, muggle sports, currently singing and dancing are on that list...I also like playing gobstones!

71. What is your most treasured possession? My broom. I know, a lot of my questions have Quidditch answers...but that's what makes me me!

72. What is your favorite color? I like yellow. It's a good color, really. Plus, not many people pick it so it could probably use a companion every now and then, right?

73. What is your favorite food? Macaroni and cheese, but only when mum cooks it.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read? The journals. That's about it. I'm not a big reading person.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? A fantastic Quidditch match between two really good teams. The International cup finals. I've been known to do some stuff withe muggle sports. I think I really enjoy a good competitive match to be honest.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? I don't smoke or do drugs, but I have been known to drink. I drink at parties and such, but never for the sake of drinking. I do it because it's relaxing and makes me feel good. And no, I don't want to quit because I'm not an addict so there's no reason to quit.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Oi, Saturday nights? Quidditch pitch practicing. Doesn't matter if Brianna's called a practice or not, that's what I'm doing. That's probably really lame but I don't care.

78. What makes you laugh? A lot of things. My brother, my friends, really bad jokes. I think that the one way to make sure you've always got the upper hand is to laugh. Sometimes it takes me a long while to find the humor in something but once I've found it, everything's instantly better.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? I don't think I'm very easy to shock or offend. It might come from being an offensive individual, though. Well, actually...I take that back. I'm really offended when people expect a certain reaction out of me and then get all upset when I don't do something or say something. For this reason alone, I will never understand how birds work.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? I would try to fly around the world in 24 hours. Can't say that I know of anyone who's actually accomplished that successfully.

81. How do you deal with stress? I don't? I cave under the pressure of stress. I do completely irrational things like snog the girl I've fancied for months. I don't sleep, I hardly eat, and I just...I feel like I'm going to explode the entire time. Sometimes I think exploding would make stress a lot easier to deal with.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? As many people around me can attest, I am very very spontaneous. Most of my decisions are made on a whim without thought. I don't know where the wind will take me half the time, I just let it take and hope it's a good path.

83. What are your pet peeves? Doing something wrong on the pitch, nail biters.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I wake up, I go to classes, I go to either play practice or Quidditch practice, then either Quidditch practice or play practice, I barely manage to squeeze in homework time, and then I sleep. There's no possible WAY my schedule can be disrupted. And if it is, I probably feel pretty shitty because I'm either very ill or dead.
But, when my life is not so hectic, I'm not a very orderly person at all. I like to get things done in a certain way, but the order they get done in...that I could give two fucks about.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person? My Quidditch skills. No, seriously, that's my biggest strength.

86. What is your greatest weakness? My complete lack of tact where it is required.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I think I would be less prone to acting before thinking. It gets me into a lot of sticky situations.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Extroverted, very very extroverted. What can I say, I like the lime light.

89. Are you generally organized or messy? Messy. Like I said, I'm the world's least orderly individual. My time management skills are a reflection of the state of my room and thoughts as a whole.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Good: Quidditch, arithmancy, and being friendly. Bad: tact, being witty, and potions.

91. Do you like yourself? Yeah. I mean, there are parts of me that I would change in a heartbeat, but isn't it like that for everyone? I can be pretty thick at times (and everyone is quick to inform me of this), but...I like me as a whole.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...) I'd hardly call myself an adventurer for the things I've done. The only adventurous thing I've done thus far is Quidditch and...well, there's only so much you can do to describe that. I don't think I have any secret reasons for why I play. I like the attention, but most everyone can see that. And I love the thrill and the rush of the game. But, again, anyone could see that.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? I want to be the captain of a professional Quidditch team.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I'll probably be stuck behind a desk somewhere knowing my luck. Who knows, maybe good fortune will fall upon me instead.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Playing Quidditch. That would be so ace...I wonder if it's actually happened before.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. I'd play a Quidditch match, I'd try to sort out all of my affairs (ie kerfuffles and arguments) and...well, I'd say that I would shag a pretty wench, but I don't see that actually happening. But if I could make it actually happen, that's what I would want.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? Certainly not anything that's happened in the past year. My Quidditch ability is probably what I'd like to be remembered for more than anything else. It won't be what people will remember me for but you did ask for what I'd like most.

98. What three words best describe your personality? Complex, loud...confident.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Conceited, prat-ish, and clueless. That's not how I'd describe myself, but I know that is how I come off to people.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...) Ludo, don't rank your worth by the amount of money or even the amount of friends that you have around you currently. You are a much better person to be around when you are happy and cheerful and I wish that you had more chances to show that you're not this tweaked out nutcase and that you're actually...sane and friendly and happy under all of the stress. Hang in there until June, I know you can do it. That which does not kill you can only make you stronger, love. Don't forget that.
