Taking advantage of a slow period (Open, Darkstars)
Cyrus has been bored. Sure they're off saving people. But he has been stuck on his own in the cock pit for hours. So he has been trying to keep himself from going nuts. This is what they call cabin fever after all. He doesn't think it can be helped. It doesn't take very much for him to fly the ship.

He is after all pretty much made for communicating with technology like this. The ship just speaks to him.

But now he is leaning back and on a spare console up here since he didn't need or normally want help he was casually going over his personal ship. The family ship, the place that was home for him. He was doing this and not really paying attention to what was going on behind him so it would be easy for anyone to just walk up behind him and see what he was up to.

And someone did walk up behind him, in the form of Mar'i.

She didn't really know her other teammates that well. Now seemed to be a good chance for her to get to know Cyrus.

He hadn't expected him to come up here. He nearly hit his head as he tried to scoot up into a fully sitting position.

He blinked in her direction and couldn't exactly hide that he was dividing his attention. Not with the images clearly up there for anyone to see. And the read out on the damages to the ship.

"Uh... Hi." He smiles awkwardly. He had no idea why she was here.

It really was. He wasn't used to people around his age.

"Good. Just gets boring up here." He didn't want to admit his payment from Cerberus was more materialistic than what everyone else was getting.

It was still important to him. The Phoenix Rising was his home. "How do you like the Normandy?"

Alerron enters the room and nods to Cyrus.

"Hide any plants that you like, Cyrus. If you do not, Mar'i will eat them." Alerron grins.

Then he goes to the galley to get food with a big smile, confident that his job as an older brother is done.

Mar'i scowled at Alerron. "I do not eat plants. Anymore."

She looked back over at Cyrus. "It is a fine ship," she said, "You do a good job in helping to maintain it."

He thinks Aleeron is weird sometimes. "What was that about? I don't even keep anything up here."

He looks at her and smiles lightly. "Thanks. This ship is a fine ship."

It isn't home to him yet. It's a ship that just doesn't make him feel like it's a home, even if it sings to him. "Do you like the observation decks down below? It's unusual for a ship like this to have them but.... They're a nice touch."
