OH, WHAT A NIGHT!
What a night, what a SEASON! This year's quidditch matches have been some of the best in recent memory, and we're here at SNITCH! to give you the final roundup of the 1984 season!
In the cup's deciding match, the APPLEBY ARROWS led by THOMAS MCCORMACK headed into enemy territory in hopes to defeat LUDO BAGMAN and his WIMBOURNE WASPS! Every chaser was flying with ferocity, the beaters were out for blood, even the keepers got into the action---but it all came down to the snitch.
![]() MVP GOES TO HOLLY TROY "This is an absolute dream come true--I could die happy, but I'd probably end up coming back as a ghost to win another next season!" |
While most of this weekend's matches ended without much flair, the CATAPULTS and KESTRELS ended in a bang! Literally! Keeper CHARLIE SPINNET for the Kestrels and Chaser ROSE KNIGHTLEY of the Catapults had a nasty mid-air collision that left both players unconscious on the pitch. Quidditch healers say that the two both suffered similiar, if not identical back injuries and will have to go through physical therapy over the off season. We're hoping for a quick recovery, Spinnet and Knightley!
Here's how the season ended up!
4760 - Wasps
4680 - Tornadoes
4200 - Kestrels
4190 - United
4120 - Catapults
3920 - Magpies
3800 - Falcons
3720 - Harpies
3700 - Wanderers
3550 - Bats
3500 - Pride
440 - Cannons
The Arrows came out of nowhere this season, but a few of the top regulars almost took the cup! Watch out, the WASPS are due for a fantastic season and we don't doubt we'll see them in the race again. A disappointing end of season for the FALCONS, but with the lack of their star Keeper MICHAL CONWAY LYNCH, there wasn't much they could do. And after a tumultuous year in the media, the CATAPULTS made a good showing and are definite contenders for next season!
How'd your favorite team do?

And now to try and answer some questions going around the rumor mill!
When asked about this being his last season, West Sumpter had this to say at the Tornadoes' end of season press conference:

"I can neither confirm nor deny that I may be spending more time tying ribbons in my daughter's hair with Martin Boot or not. Or in Boot's hair."
IT'S TRUE! WANDERERS femme fatale Beater VICTORIA CADWALLADER is expecting!
Look at her glow!

MATT SUMMERBY may have had a rough end of the season, but it looks like he's caught his own little Snitch in CHARLIE SPINNET'S sister, Delilah!

And we here at SNITCH! have something very important to announce! We are the official hosts of this year's end of year party! We're just as excited that it's in Appleby as the whole Arrows' team is!

Now, share your excitement in our comments section!!
