Familiar: Cassandra's familiar is a Leaf Muntjac called Samson. He's exactly as shy as she is. He can read certain words. No writing though! (It's the hooves!)

Personality: Cassandra is very reserved. She finds social situations difficult and is usually nervous around other people. She is able to suspend her reservations when singing/performing though. It helps that her audience is hardly intimidating (or present.) Cassandra is a kind hearted person - you have to get past the shyness to find that out sometimes though.
Strengths: Her voice. She can also play an assortment of musical instruments. Cassandra's benevolence could be seen as a strength, though to some it would be construed as a weakness.
Weaknesses: Her timid nature makes all sorts of things difficult - friends, relationships.. people in general. It has stopped her from doing a lot of things.
Quirks: She likes strawberry milk.
Secrets: Cassandra has a collection of songs she's written tucked away.

Biography:
Cassandra is an only child. She was timid in her youth and took a little longer to 'grow up' than most of her peers (until she was abruptly forced to). School (Salem) sometimes helped and sometimes hindered her socially. When she made progress with her magic and was pleased with herself, she tended to open up a little to those around her. She was generally more confident when she had friends ..which she didn't always. It was obviously hard for her to make and keep friends with her shyness. And with people moving into their specialties, and generally falling in and out of each others lives, she found it hard to hold on to anyone. Her family situation didn't always help either - she had tendency to withdraw from people when things weren't going well. She couldn't expect them to wait for her. That said, in friendships and relationships, Cassandra has always been kind and loyal. She could be fun, too, when she finally learned to relax.

Cassandra's mother always had an interest in music - something she seemed to have passed on. She encouraged her daughter (who she called Cassie) to take lessons. Cassandra ended up really enjoying music and found that she was, parhaps, better at it than her magic. Or maybe she just liked it better. At any rate, Cassandra learned her music GUD. She developed as a singer and took to studying a number of instruments - something she continued for many years after graduating from Salem Academy. Music was something she found confidence in. (Well, confidence for her.) She currently works as a singer at the Golden Chalice. It isn't the nicest of venues, but it's been good to her. The faces are familiar and it's comfortable.. though somewhere she's aware of the fact that she could be doing more.

Cassandra's home life wasn't always the best. Her father was sometimes aggressive, sometimes drunk, sometimes absent.. and she was never really sure what he did. It seemed to change a lot. His instability took its toll on all of them. Despite her nature, Cassandra found herself liking her father less and less over time - to the point where she wondered why they remained with him. It wasn't until she was advancing in her study and practice of enchantment magic (probably her strongest ability magically) that she realised why this unhappy marriage hadn't ended. And why it wouldn't. She became convinced that her father - skilled in enchantment - had been using his magic to encourage her mother to stay with him for years. And from what she had gleaned from her fortuna ability, she also believed that this would lead to her mother suffering a nervous breakdown. Cassandra tried to counter her father by using her own magic to rightfully encourage her mother to leave. This sparked a war which culminated in her mother having a breakdown she would never completely recover from. Cassandra's father did leave after that - leaving her to look after her mother and deal with the guilt. Cassandra will never forgive herself for what happened to her mother and has vowed never to use enchantment magic again. She still lives with her mother in New Meridian.
