Personal History: Roger was the first child born to Elisabeth and Alexander Dixon on a cool fall day in Los Angeles, California, where he has lived his entire life. He was an only child for the first 10 years of his existence, but by the time he'd learned to walk, he'd found his fair share of surrogate siblings in the other children in his neighborhood. Even at that age, he was friendly and popular.
Between his natural curiosity and sense of adventure, there wasn't much Roger didn't get into as a kid. Broken bones, explorations of places he'd both been instructed to stay away from. Roger liked to claim that his friends were a bad influence on him, but the truth was that they influenced one another, as friends tend to do.
When Roger was 10 years old, his younger sister Lily came along. He took to being a big brother as naturally as breathing, always doting on the little girl. Roger was a big help with the baby, always offering to watch her so his parents could do other things. He changed diapers and fed her bottles. Unsurprisingly, he's good with children as a result. He even did a little babysitting in his preteen years to earn a little extra money.
Roger was a smart kid, but his grades didn't always reflect that once he'd started school. For Roger, school was more for socializing than learning things. He made friends easily and was often reprimanded for talking to his peers when he should have been paying attention in class. It evened out a little bit by the time he reached middle school, though. Roger learned to settle down and focus when he needed to focus, at least enough to make decent grades.
Girls were discovered not long after. Not that Roger didn't know about girls, but as he entered his teen years, girls became much more interesting to him. Roger was one of those guys who had a lot of girlfriends. None of his relationships seemed to last very long, but he did his best to treat the girls well, even if the truth was that there was always someone else he wanted to be with.
Kimberly was that girl. She was the girl. Roger has been in love with Kim since the moment he met her and he spent the entirety of his adolescence chasing after her. Unfortunately for Roger, Kim spent the entirety of their adolescence playing hard to get. No matter how many times he asked her out, she always told him no. Roger acted like it didn't bother him and he distracted himself by dating a large portion of their peers, but a part of him always hoped he'd wear her down one day.
It wasn't until he was in his first year of college that he realized that dream of Kim saying yes for once. It had almost become a joke at that point - Roger asking her out even though he knew she'd turn him down - and he was floored when she actually agreed to go on a date with him. The date was fantastic, of course, and the two of them have been dating ever since. Roger even asked her to move in with him shortly after she finished high school, but things haven't really progressed past that point. They finished school and moved on to the "real world," with Roger getting a job as the Operations Assistant for the LA Lakers, but he's been content with the way things are for the past few years and doesn't see the need to rush past the place they're in. Somehow, his contentment with the status quo has made the normally intelligent Roger oblivious to all the hints Kim has dropped that maybe - just maybe - he should think about making an honest woman of her.
Personality: Roger is, first and foremost, a shameless flirt. It could be blamed on his good looks, but Roger has had a knack for charming the ladies since he hit puberty, if not before, and he can't quite help himself. He flirts effortlessly, sometimes without even realizing he's doing it. After all, he's a naturally friendly bloke and when he's chatting up a pretty girl, flashing his dimples at her just comes naturally.
That's not to say Roger doesn't have his share of male friends, too, because he does. He finds that he has more in common with the other jocks in his peer group, but Roger is the sort who is friendly with a lot of people. Granted, he does have his bias for and against certain houses, but house bias aside, Roger is a pretty easygoing and friendly young man.
For a quick-witted young man, academics aren't exactly Roger's strong suit. It isn't that he isn't smart, though. There are just so many more pleasant things to be done at Hogwarts than schoolwork and he finds himself easily distracted by things like girls and sports. It earns him Bs and Cs in lessons that would be an easy A if he would just apply himself.
Outside of school, though, Roger was an extremely hard worker. He always had chores to do around the house growing up and it bred a strong work ethic in him. Roger more than pulls his weight when it comes to his job and to things that need to be done around the house. He's also always been an early riser as a result of all the chores he had to do as a kid, often up with the sun, if not before.
Physical Description: Roger is tall and athletic with thick hair that he wears a little on the shaggy side and a friendly, confident smirk that makes it hard not to have just a little bit of s crush on him. Or to hate him. One of those things.
He has a warm, easy smile and a generally laid back appearance. Roger likes to think he's an approachable sort of guy. He doesn't put a lot of effort into his appearance, but he doesn't really have to. He pulls off the casual, tousled look rather well.
