Ack, I got sick so that's where I've been the past few days. x__x;

Day 1: Severe ear pain and headaches. I seriously thought my ears were going to explode.

Day 2: Coughing, mucus in throat (but not in nose?), sore throat, fever, and some vomiting. Ears ringing. Not fun.

Day 3 (today): Ears ringing, some mucus and a sore throat. Much better, but still wasn't allowed to go to class b/c of the rules against being in the kitchen if you're sick. Which makes me sad, as I REALLY wanted to go too. ;; Chocolate classssss. -grabby hands-

Anyway, other than that my grandpa's being an asshole again. He just ranted to my grandmother about me being irresponsible because I didn't tie up the dog when the lawnmower guys got here. (Usually, my grandmother does it willingly, has never asked for help, and to top it all off-- I didn't know the lawnmower guys were here until they'd already started mowing, AFTER Toby had been tied up by someone else.) What gets me is that I'm the only one he complained about. Like I don't have two brothers who were here too, and not sick as hell. God he's such an asshole. And I can say that because he does pick on people, particularly me because I'm the only one who doesn't get into trouble or arguments with any of the adults in my family and he thinks I'm being lazy because I don't have another job. (I've been trying. I lost my job at the convenience store in December b/c it shut down, and I've been trying ever since. I must've applied to over 100 fucking places and it's really damned hard to get a job when you only have experience in one place and your schedule is limited because you have classes at college.)

So yeah. That's how it's been.

Being sick sucks! I'm still recovering from my laryngitis!

Yeah. Doctors can't really help either. Lmao my brother Jake got it first and he was throwing up and had a fever and stuff (he could've gotten better in a few days, but he was up and doing shit and eating nachos and chili cheese fries like an idiot so he kept throwing up for a week and is still sick now) so he went to the doctors and the doctor's brilliant diagnosis was "viral infection. drink water and take aspirin." (No, I'm not kidding.)

That's the same thing they told me two years ago when I had completely different symptoms. This is what we get for my mom closing her eyes and picking a doctor off of a list of doctors that our really horrible half-pay insurance provides. =_=;

Actually that's not a bad remedy, as several viral infections simply have to run their course (if they're not life threatening). I'm glad he didn't do what a bad doctor would have done, which is prescribe an antibiotic... it's sad that some doctors here do that considering that they're useless against anything non-bacterial. :| Oh, med-school. Stop just handing out diplomas.

I have the same thing as my mom and my brother and the only thing I've been doing was eating healthy (making sure to get my vitamins for the day), let anything that wants to come out get out, and from midnight to 4pm, only breaking for sicky time, and I'm almost better already. :| Now both of my brothers, my mom, and my grandpa have the same thing and my mom and my brother Jake have had it for two weeks. Matt just got it earlier today and my grandpa's had it about a week. >>; I took... one aspirin when I had a really bad headache at first, but that's it.

Btw. The doctor /did/ give my brother a prescription. For Tylenol. :| I facepalmed.

...They realize what antibiotics are right? >>; I haven't experienced something that silly yet but... wow.

And I know not all doctors are a little uh... special in that manner, but I used to work next to a hospital and... well, it was only the entire radiology department but the radiology department is composed of airhead dorks. >>; They even said that radiology is where you went if you wanted to be lazy...

If it's a prescription for it, is it at least a larger dosage of acetaminophen? Otherwise that is pretty silly... dunno the details, but usually a prescription is req'd for larger amounts. I know my roommate's gotten prescribed ibuprofen before and really all it was a like 1000mg instead of whatever comes in the OTC version.

I think they do realize, but since the patients are dumb and willing to pay, they prescribe it so they can milk the health insurance. Or something. I don't know. My dad's always ranting about it, since he's a pediatrician and has to deal with stupid parents who think they know what they're doing just because they logged into WebMD.

XD that makes me lol especially because right now the aunt my family is currently feuding against is married to a radiologist and, well, he is pretty lazy!

It's 500mg. Which you can still buy over-the-counter. They usually come in either 200mg or 500mg for non-prescription. I thought it was very, very silly.

LOL WEBMD. I hate WebMD. All it does is breed hypochondriacs.

I swear, all radiologists I've ever met are like the fucking jocks of the medical personnel. I worked at a convenience store right next to the hospital and I'd see other doctors maybe once or twice a day to get food b/c the hospital cafeteria sucked ass for the same price, but someone from the radiology department was almost always there. And they spend hundreds of dollars on scratchers. They even banded together once and bought an entire fresh roll of them. It's kind of ridiculous, especially when they then complain about how doctors "Don't get paid as much as people think." My. Ass. If you can afford to blow your money on hundreds of dollars worth of scratchers, you're getting paid PLENTY.

Speaking of bad doctor stories, we recently switched to a new doctor who is impossible to get in contact with lmao. Seriously, I was trying to call him for like two weeks (I needed a TB test for class and I can only get it covered by insurance if it's with our assigned doctor) and not ONCE did anyone pick up the phone. I always got an answering machine or "Call back during business hours" (during business hours, mind you). The time I finally DID get in contact with the doctor's secretary was when I called after hours and discovered that because I was a first-time patient, I couldn't get an appointment for the next two months. I. Was. Pissed.

WebMD is terrible and shouldn't exist because I'll go on there and think I have cancer. D:

I hate not being able to afford my deductible.

Whoever created it should seriously be buried alive. >\

D: At least you're not like $24k much debt for college education that you can't use because you switched majors. (Unless you are. Then I share your pain so hard. >_<)

Not 24K exactly, but I am in debt. Mostly to my mom and dad who paid for tuition when my scholarship ran out, so at least it's interest free...

Yeah, since I lost my job my mom lends me money. That I have to pay her back with. To pay my loans. :| So even though I'm making payments, I'm not getting out of debt at all. >_<;

Yeah if I were to really do some math I know I owe my mom more than $7000 but I can't be assed. XD She'll remind me how much it is exactly one day when her prozac prescription needs to be filled again.
