rp thread - remus and sirius
WHO Remus Lupin and Sirius Black
WHAT Sirius is saaaaaaaaaafe.
WHERE Order house, after he's rescued! but during the GH fight, so James hasn't been there yet.
WHY 'Cause duh.
RATING TBD.

Despite his aching muscles, Sirius shot straight up into a sitting position, gasping for air and looking around the room and blinking wildly. This was much to bright of a room, too cheerful to be... Sirius didn't actually know where he was supposed to be or where he was he looked down at his chest to see it wrapped tight with a bandage and groaned. He poked the red spot and cursed at the pain that shot through his entire side. Ow, okay not doing that again. He swallowed and looked around the room again, trying for sure to determine where he was. This... it wasn't home, that was for sure. He would know if it was home. It didn't smell bad, but his tongue felt numb and who knew if that affected it or not.

Groaning some more, Sirius pushed the blanket aside with his bandaged hands, it seemed like whoever had put them on didn't really heal them, probably just dabbed them in potions, and Sirius swung his feet over the side of the bed and reached for his wand that he always kept on the bed stand, only it wasn't there. Where was his wand? This definitely wasn't home. Sirius stood up, hunched and with one hand wrapped lightly around his middle. He was only wearing boxer shorts so he shivered a little and was trying to figure out how he was going to escape this place without a wand, clothes and a left leg that didn't seem to want to bend because of the cast. The door creaked open and Sirius froze as if he moved his position would be given away. He squinted slightly to make out the profile of the person carrying a tray of...was that soup? Sirius's stomach gave an involuntary growl at the thought of soup and he bit his lip to keep himself from yelling at it when he recognized the soup-carrier.

"Remus?" he rasped out, wondering what Remus was doing, being his captor.

This entire ordeal had been very hard on Remus--- and, he knew it was selfish for him to think that it had been the hardest on him, because there was James and Peter, who had been in the same boat as he had been in from the beginning, and he could only imagine what must be going through Melinda's mind... and Sirius, of course. That had been.... Remus had all but curled his lip back in distaste once he and Sturgis had tripped through the entire house (amazing) and finally came to Sirius in the end.

His friend had not been in good shape, neither of them could even begin to lie about that.

But--- Remus closed his eyes, forcing himself to move onto another imagine and thought, preferably one that didn't want to make him rip apart the Lestranges with his bare hands. He let out an anxious sigh, knowing that these thoughts were only due to the fact that the full moon was fastly approaching. Well, maybe not all of it. He was allowed to be angry, to say the least. He busied himself with preparing Sirius' dinner (like he would eat it anyway).

Remus' eyes snapped open as he heard a deliberate creak come from the floor boards. Sirius was up. Taking a shaky sigh, Remus collected everything to his hands an bounded to Sirius' makeshift room. That was on of the nice things about the Order house, plenty of rooms ready to be used for anything. This was going to be--- Remus tried to not let himself expect anything as he pushed the door open lightly. This was Sirius, after all; he could be perfectly peachy. Most likely not, but it was a possibility.

Once inside, Remus caught sight of Sirius' position, and his eyes went tight. Where did he think he was going? Calm, stay calm; Sirius was going to be... most likely something to deal with, so Remus would have to be especially careful. "Yes, it's Remus. You're in the Order house. Sturgis and I got you out," he responded quietly, playing it safe and staying in a soft tone to not spook Sirius. "I brought you food."

Order house.

That made much more sense. Sirius looked around the room for a moment and nodded before he forced himself to sit down, his breathing a little strained from the work it had taken to stand up and stay standing on mostly one leg. He would have to deal with that later. Tying his leg up in a cast was a very good way to keep him from moving. He watched Remus carefully, trying to decide if it was real Remus or a fake Remus.

"Sturgis?" he asked, licking his lips a little. That didn't make that much sense. Why would Sturgis come help him? Sturgis didn't like him. Didn't like him a lot. "James? Where is James?" That was who was missing. It was really quiet in this house. Really quiet. "Is there no one here?"

That didn't make much sense, there was always people here, unless they were trying to give him space, but then why wasn't James here? He perked up at the smell of the soup. It smelled really good. He couldn't wait to have some. "That's not cat soup, is it?"

Remus hesitated for a moment, knowing fully well that telling Sirius James was most likely in the process of fighting some Death Eater was not an good idea, or even an option, really. That would only cause Sirius to jump up and want to go fight--- with his broken leg and various gashes and brusies across his body. So. No. Lying was best. Even though Remus had always been horrible at lying; he usually just opted for changing the subject or giving some vague response.

"Sturgis is downstairs," Remus said in the same quiet tone, shifting the food in his arms to wave Sirius back into a more relaxed position. "Eat," he ordered, pointing at it with his index finger.

He had no clue what Sirius was talking about (well, he did, but he just didn't want to admit it), but at least his friend was showing signs of still being the old Sirius and not something--- different. He remember quite vividly the way James had came back over a year ago, and.... there weren't really words to describe how horrible it would be if their little group had to go through something like that again with Sirius. "No, it's--- dog soup," Remus tried, the sides of his face prickling up slightly.

Sirius moved back into bed slowly and pulled the blankets up to his waist, watching Remus still carefully, even though he was pretty sure it was still Remus. A quick sniff of the air confirmed it, but there was still something sort of off about it. He nodded about the Sturgis update, seemingly content with that. Which he was. For now, at least. If James wasn't here then he was coming. Soon. Because that's what Sirius would have done, it was only expected that it be done in return.

He stirred the soup with his spoon but then picked up his tea to take a sip of it. He snorted into the drink at the dog soup comment, but then winced at the pain in his abdomen that the laughter had caused. "Good one. Did you use my toe-nail clippings? I always imagined that went well with eye of newt."

Sirius drank the tea slowly, glad for it to clear his throat up and started on the soup, even though he wasn't quite sure he could keep it down. He wasn't quite sure where that idea had come from but he would try for Remus. "Where was I? I- I can't see anything. In my head. It's all dark and fuzzy. I remember being at James' for my birthday and having too many waffles. And then a funeral?"

Right. His father. His father's funeral. Orion Black was dead. Because...of a virus. Sirius had a moment of panic as thoughts flooded his mind. "Is Alice okay? Is she alive?" he asked with strained ook on his face and dropping the spoon, "And Marlie? Are they okay?"

Remus sank further into the edge of Sirius' bed, twisting slightly to hold on firmly to the tray. Not that he didn't trust Sirius-- no, that was exactly it. He didn't want to have to deal with any more mess than there already was. He sighed as the onslot of questions began (at least he had prepared himself for that), the only thing keeping him going being the knowledge that potions in Sirius' tea and soup would take about twenty minutes to kick in again, eventually knocking him back into a dreamless sleep. Hopefully James would show up before then.

"Alice? Marlie?" he repeated, lips pulling together. It only took Remus a second to realize that Sirius was way out of the loop to the point where he hardly remembered things before his kidnap, which was not comforting. But he tried to relax his face anyway. "Yes, they're fine. Well, perfectly fine once they know you're back." Yep, Sirius would definitely have a constant stream of visitors for the next few days, Remus was sure about that.

"Your father's funeral," Remus supplied quietly, finally looking away from his friend and down to his knees. He waited for a bit, going over whether or not he should talk to Sirius about this. What happened to him. It was a very--- dangerous place to go, especially so quickly after the fact. Actually, it was surprising that Sirius was even bringing it up. James hardly talked about what had happened at Christmas even now, and then, the topic had been the elephant in the room for a while.

So, that meant... no. Yes, Remus was going to avoid this as long as possible. Only twenty minutes. He could do silence concerning certain subjects, he was very good at that.

Sirius stirred the soup a bit, taking small spoonfuls, mostly because his hand was shaking a little and he was having trouble keeping the broth in the spoon. He wasn't going to let Remus feed him though, no that was definitely going to be a fight if he treated him like a baby. He could feed himself, even if he had to transfigure a straw out of this spoon with Remus' wand.

"And Liz?" Sirius asked, looking up at Remus and trying to gauge what he wasn't telling him by the look on his face. Really, Remus was getting too good at this poker faced thing. Too good was not good for Sirius, but he would let it go for now. He would try and get Peter to tell him what was going on when he showed up. "I remember the funeral, I went with Andromeda. Oh...she must be really mad. I told her to go to James and Lily's and wait for me. She's not still there, is she?"

He gave up on the spoon and decided to just slurp from the bowl, mostly because he was hungry and thirsty and spoons were for idiots who didn't know how to drink from a bowl. Sirius finished off most of the bowl and set it down, sliding down against his pillows and stared at Remus, "Moony, where did you find me? I was kidnapped, right? Like James and Frank?"
