Green and Gold (Backdated to July 1st)
Alex had gotten some very irritating news recently. Something important he'd need to do. But first he'd need to do something more important in his eyes. So he called Riley Carter and asked him to meet him atop the JSA Brownstone in costume a warm July afternoon.

And that's where he'll be found. In costume, the Green Lantern is sitting in the air near a cooler. He seems nervous about something and frequently checks the air for incoming gold-clad heroes...

	Swooping down comes the figure after not too long. Much more comfortable in his costume, Riley's usual swagger has returned, compared to his date with Alex some time earlier. "Hey man, how's it going?" He smiles as he sets down on the roof. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Alex nods and wills his mask away.

"Alright...let me...well...look. You're the first guy I've been attracted to in more than the 'man he's got' sense," he says. He's not quite sure how to explain the concept of being smitten with someone without actually saying it. "And when I found out that it was you that I got set up on that date with I was thrilled. Like really thrilled..."

	Alex tries to avoid looking at Riley but eventually he does. A determined expression crosses his face a moment before Alex takes a deep breath. "What I'm trying to say is that I've fallen for you. Alex stares a moment, unsure of what to say for a moment.

"The Green Lanterns...the space ones...they've...called me," he says. "The Starheart...the whole one...it's threatening a planet," he says. "And they need me to come help them deal with it," he finally gets out, clearly unhappy about this.

He goes quiet for a few moments. "I...I wanted to ask...how you...felt...thought about us before I went.:

Riley's pretty much squirming inside like a worm on a hook. Alex is putting a lot out there, but...

Any other issue in the world, and he'd be able to just put up a smile and let them hear what they need to hear. But he just can't now. Every since how awkward that first date felt, he wanted to just chalk it up to it being his first date ever, but something has been solidifying in his head.

"I...think you're nice, but...." He bites his lip, lowering his head. "I'm sorry. I just.. don't feel that way."

	Alex frowns when he notices the grimace. He lets it go though. The hug is readily accepted, the Lantern holding on tight for a moment. "Thanks..." he says softly. (Reply to this)(Parent)
