001. all I want is the best for our lives, my dear.
I DID GET ALL O'S ON MY O.W.L.s SO IF ALFREDO SAUCE POTTER TELLS YOU OTHERWISE, IT'S LIES. My mother was extremely surprised, but my father said I had it in me all along. I don't really care what my brothers said, but I think Seb was jealous. OH WELL, SORRY SEB.
The summer hols are almost over and I've never been more delighted. France was a blast and all but you know, the war, depressing, blahblahblah. GO HOGWARTS.
SO REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN I KISSED ALFRED IN THE COMMON ROOM AT THAT PARTY WHEN WE THOUGHT NOBODY WAS LOOKING BUT YOU WERE????
yeah well I can't stop thinking about it and it's really gross and I want to stop help please.
WELL I WASN'T PLANNING ON IT, IT'S JUST. I don't know. It's weird. SOMETIMES there'll be awkward moments when we talk and I know we're both thinking about the same thing and I HATE AWKWARD MOMENTS MORE THAN ANYTHING.
My father's a Mediwizard, so he travels with the Magpies sometimes, and they're still continuing the season, thank goodness. Since they had a game in France, I went to Paris with him afterwARDS, it being the city of love and all that. But we had to leave soon after, because of the war. It's in shambles though, which was sad.
HOW WAS YOUR SUMMER? Talking about the war gets me depressed.
Well, yes, I think we might have gone to Paris too. But I mean, I'd think it awfully hard to enjoy Paris with all the Germans there. I don't know how you can stand it.
Dull, I suppose. No traveling, as you may have gathered. We usually holiday in my dad's old house in Ajmer, but since the Japs got into Burma, mum's been going mad with worry.
My dad and I tried to avoid them as much as possible, but it was hard. They're everywhere. Practically everyone I ran into was German, so I couldn't even practice my French. UPSETTING.
Oh, wow, that is really unfortunate. I'm sure you found something fun to do at home though?
You could always practice your German? "Scher dich zum Teufel Deutschen un dein fuhrer" is probably the only really important phrase that needs practice, anyway.
Homework, which was all sorts of fun and exciting, as you can imagine. Urgh. We really should meet up before school starts. Preferably far, far away from the manor. Or Wiltshire as a whole, just to be safe.
I have no idea what that means, but i'd really rather not practice German. It's not nearly as pretty as French.
OH GOODNESS, you really do need to get out of your house! I will come and rescue you, never fear. I will take you to the countryside, and you can ride hippogriffs and the like. Except I don't have a Hippogriff, so that wouldn't work. I have muggle neighbors that have horses though, and we can steal them and ride them if you'd like.
