She's a Hurricane Working a Skyscaper Town
Hurricane Anya breezed into New York after a week of traveling for Ren Tech business. She and Bridget had been to New Mexico, Detroit and Alabama surveying possible sites for production facilities. There was a stop in DC to meet with a few politicians and assure them that she had no plans on weaponizing the tech outside of non-lethal stun weapons.

Anya stopped in New York on her way back to Boston since today was her father's birthday. She had scheduled lunch with him to see him and give him his gift. This year she got him a week's worth of babysitting for Monkey Boy and a trip for him and mom. Lunch was a quiet affair with just she and Dad. They talked about the family, but most of the conversation was about Ren Tech. Anya loved every second of it.

After lunch she met backup with Bridget and together they headed for the Genoshan Embassy. They had a meeting with one Andrew Summers about Zero Point Energy use and manufacture in Genosha. The car arrived at the Embassy and the driver opened the door so Anya and Bridget could step out. Taking a deep breath, Anya approached the door with Bridget next to her.

"As you may know my company, Renaissance Technolgy, recently developed a new energy source. Zero Point Energy is clean and virtually limitless. It'll make oil as a fuel source obsolete and I hope one day it will replace nuclear power and the problems that are associated with it.

We already have contracts with some major automotive companies to integrate the technology into autos and we are working with a few with some governments around the world to introduce this new technology on a larger scale. We have already powered individual buildings and manufacturing facilities with this technology and we are in the process converting a town to use this technology as its power source. I would like to start discussions of introducing this technology to Genosha."

Andrew nods. "Safe to say that we're very interested. Power for a small nation like that would be a tremendous help, and let us devote technological resources elsewhere. I'd definitely need to approve cost through the primary Genoshan government... and personally, I'd want to make sure there's sufficient safeguards inherent to the technology to prevent accusations of weaponizing the technology. If we're going to proceed, I'd like to make sure that Renaissance is in a position to adequately deal with inevitable accusations of selling weaponable resources to Genosha, and that we don't make a diplomatic mission harder. I think those are my two primary questions."

	Anya nodded. "We have put as many safeguards as inhumanly possible in the technology to keep it from being weaponized. Ren Tech is prepared to handle accusations of weaponizing the tech. It was something that we knew we would have to deal with. We have already had requests to weaponize it which I have refused to do outside of non-lethal stun weapons." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Of course," Anya said with a smile. "I can have Miss Halliwell send it over. Mr. Summers, what would be your initial thoughts about Ren Tech establishing a manufacturing facility on Genosha and employing people from the local population?"

Not only was Anya looking to improve the environment with clean energy, the global economy had taken a huge hit and investing in new production facilities would create jobs and generate income. Anya had just selected two sites for manufacturing facilities here in the United States. One was going to be in New Mexico and the other in Detroit. When it was time for a third it would probably be in Alabama.

"I would need to discuss it with my grandfather and the Genoshan government, but I'd put in a strong word in favor of it. International business would help the economy, certainly. There remains a degree of suspicion of the world beyond Genosha there as well, so we'd also need to make sure security is provided... but if that's acceptable, I'll talk to my grandfather and submit possible site proposals for your perusal... pending his approval, of course."

"Of course," she said. "If this comes to fruition, Ren Tech will provide its own security, but we'll work with Genoshan authorities of course. But those are details to work out later."

Anya knew there would be some backlash in the media and other sources about doing business in Genosha, but she had been brought up to have a world view of things. The whole world needed clean energy and jobs. It didn't matter if the citizens of a country were human or mutant.

"I would of course be able to meet if there are questions. Miss Halliwell runs my schedule and can arrange meetings, either here or in Genshoa, if they are required."

She had been tapping away on her data pad once the talking really got started.

"The proposals should be in your In-Box Mr. Summers..." She pulled a pale business card from the pocket of her suit, passing it forward. "This is my direct line, please feel free to contact me any time, day or night. This project is of the highest priority and I'll do everything I can to answer any questions you might have."

	She stood up after her boss, nodding and smiling to Andrew before stepping back and aside, so Anya could leave first. What they were attempt...it was such a risk. If it went wrong...but it was what Anya wanted - so she'd do her best to make sure it happened. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
