Who: Andre and Tiberius
What: International Emergency!
Where: Ministry!
When: Today!
Tiberius stood abruptly once he finished reading the memo that had just landed on his desk. So much so, he knocked his chair to the floor as he rushed out the door. There must have been some sort typo. Some mistake because it just didn’t make any sense whatsoever. He looked at his watch impatiently as he waited for the lift to reach the atrium, pushing his way out before the doors had completely opened.
His jaw dropped slightly as he finally reached Security’s holding cell not believing what he was seeing. “Tibs. Tiberius. I need your help, just... Just tell these gentlemen that you know me.” Andre said frantically.
“What is going on?” Tibs managed to get out while still trying to take in the sight before him. “Let him go. Why are you even holding him? He’s a friend of mine.”
“This man tried to get into the Ministry demanding to see you declaring it was an international emergency--”
“It is an international emergency!” Andre interjected banging his hand on the bars of the cell.
“And he was brandishing his wand like a lunatic and was walking around with a bubble head charm. We were concerned for the safety of the Ministry staff,” the security guard continued talking over Andre.
“And I told you, I just came from Mungo’s where staff is required to have them. I forgot about it.”
The security guard gave Andre an unimpressed look, but Tiberius waved him off. “Let him go, I’ll take responsibility for him.” Once he was freed to go Tibs led his friend up to his office, and before he even had a chance to ask what all this was about, Andre was speaking.
“It’s Ethan.” Andre said gravely gripping Tib’s upper arm. “We have to send someone to Istanbul. He’s in trouble. I haven’t heard from him in weeks.”
“Whoa. Slow down.” Tibs said placing a hand on his friend shoulder. He got it, the sheer panic that took over when you thought there was something wrong with your ickle brother. But he couldn’t send out any personnel on the mere gut instinct of a friend. “What happened? How do you know?”
“At Mungo’s. I saw the other two he’s been running with ever since he got that job as a curse breaker. The long haired one and the girl. They were in bad shape. I saw enough to know they left him behind.”
“Are you sure?” Andre nodded, swaying on his feet slightly. Tibs reached out to steady him, noticing for the first time the sweat beading on the healers forehead. “Andre, you are burning up!” He settled him into a chair now completely unsure of what to think of the situation anymore. Tibs did know that he needed to get a hold of Mark. Immediately. He had seen the notices, and Andre certainly felt hot enough that this all might just be a hallucination. “Here. Just wait right here. I’ll be back.”
Andre grabbed his sleeve stopping him from getting very far. “They left him behind. He’s all alone and--” he trailed off looking down at his hands as tears welled in his eyes. “Ethan is my only brother, and I’ve failed him. I should have--- He’s only got--- What if he never comes back?”
Tibs froze staring at his friend. In all the years he’s known Andre, he had never ever seen him in this state. Never once had he seen him cry. “Hey. Hey. Stop that talk. We’ll find him. It will be okay. I got this now. You just sit here and rest. Okay?” Relief flooded him when Andre nodded and took to resting his face in his hands, giving him time to go and owl Mark and figure out just what was going on.
