WHO: Therese Bonaccord and her magically appearing brother, Louis.
WHAT: St. Mungo's is filled with surprises
WHERE: ST. MUNGO'S
WHEN: Sometime today!

Therese tightened the tie of her ponytail as she strode through the corridors of St. Mungo’s. She had never been one for the brightly lit hallways always bustling with healers, patients, and visitors, but she was finding it to be the perfect distraction from the anxieties she’d been suffering the past month and a half. The chaos that was this outbreak, while nerve-wracking and downright scary, was exhilarating all the same. Therese has worked and studied hard to get into her specialty, but this non-stop movement seemed to invigorate her. Sure, she’d whined about rounds a few months back, but that was when the hospital had been slow and nearly empty, that was when she was doing inventory on thousands of potion vials because she just needed to fill up her time card.

Speaking of potion vials...Therese ducked down into a cabinet behind the nurses’ station to grab a handful. This virus was ruthless, and the amount of potions that they’d gone through in the past hour was astronomical. Therese had been in her first few months of residency after making it through her internship during the first miserable outbreak of this virus, and now to see it again and the carnage it was creating...honestly, she was lucky, she was really, really lucky that she hadn’t managed to catch it, or at least not the brunt of it.

“Those robes, they are very unflattering,” a familiar voice rang out, startling Therese. She dropped a few vials as she stood up quickly, gawking at the leprechaun-like sudden appearance of her little brother.

“Louis!” she exclaimed, shoving the vials back onto the shelves so that her arms would be free for a hug. Therese wrapped herself tightly around her little brother, who certainly wasn’t so little anymore. For the past two years Louis had been on his Grand Tour, something that Therese had been insanely jealous of but far too conservative to take on. Letters, postcards, and various gifts were what helped her keep track of her brother’s location, and the last she knew he’d been in China, practicing ancient forms of magic.

She pulled back, tugging at his hair to note how long it had grown. He sat on the edge of a gurney, allowing her to be on eye level with him. “When did you get here? What are you doing here?”

Louis waved his hand, smirking, “I cannot visit my sister without being interrogated?”

“Are you here to stay?” she continued to probe, using her wand to move the gurney. Louis braced himself, but then sat back, looking quite comfortable. He yawned, pressing his elbows into the cushion.

“If you have a place for me to stay,” he said with a casual shrug, though Therese could see the slight apprehension in his eyes. She would have to send her mother an owl, for it was strange that her brother would be coming to her before retreating back to their home in Paris.

“I have a life, you know,” she said, wheeling him around a corner and avoiding the strange looks from healers and nurses alike, “I’m unsure if I can deal with an inconvenience such as yourself.” But even as the words slipped out, she was already planning on how she could rearrange her spare room for him.

“You will be locked up here for a good amount of time,” Louis said with a nod, sitting up and crossing his legs, stretching his neck to get a good look into the rooms they were passing. Therese smirked; that was certainly true, seeing as she had not been to her flat in what felt like days! She even had to ask Ralph to take care of Alphonse, who she missed dearly. For all Therese knew, her brother had already moved in.

As much as she wanted to talk to her brother, he should not be wandering the halls of a hospital that was more than likely to be quarantined within the next few days. The last thing Therese needed was for Louis to come back into her life and catch the deadly virus. She stopped the gurney at the end of the hall, near the lift and the human resources wing, where there were currently a few young wizards and witches in the waiting area, apparently for an interview process.

“You can stay, but we will talk more,” she said, grabbing his chin to kiss him on the cheek. He grinned and hopped off, and it was then that she noticed he was in rather professional looking robes. Therese’s eyebrow went up. “You were not just here to see me, were you?”

“I have an interview in ten minutes for the mediwizard program, but it was good seeing you too, mon cœur,” he said, tugging on his collar. Louis’ eyes shot up to the numbers of the lift, and he kissed her cheek before a quick salute. “Thanks for the ride.”
