Characters: Sera & Jenny.
Setting: Campus, Sera's car, and around Blue Ridge. Night of Valentine's Day [February 14th 2012].
Content: SFW.
Summary: Sera plans to take Jenny out on the perfect Valentine's day and birthday date, hoping to win her back.

Sera really still couldn't believe Jenny had actually agreed to go out with her on her birthday. She thought for sure that she would already have plans with Charlie but she definitely wasn't complaining. She couldn't think of any other way she'd rather spend Valentine's Day. She had been a complete idiot to ever push Jenny away in the first place, they were perfect, and she ruined it. Possibly along with any chance of getting her back. Tonight was a good step in the right direction though. Maybe Jenny didn't hate her entirely.

She was definitely glad Max was out of the picture now as well. He probably would have wanted to take her out her or something stupid on Valentine's Day, which really only would have got in the way of her plans. She couldn't just keep dragging him along while she chased after the ex she never stopped loving. It wasn't right. Not that she cared about Max's feelings or anything but it wasn't fair to Jenny. She had been running low on excuses to avoid him. It was just one less thing to worry about.

Wanting to make sure everything was absolutely perfect, Sera had taken a short jaunt into town earlier in the day to pick up a few things, including a new outfit, and a little present for Jenny. She also dropped by their old favorite restaurant just outside of town and made reservations, requesting Jen's favorite table with the best view of the Toccoa River. It was Valentine's Day after all, the restaurant would likely be busy later and she was leaving nothing up to chance. She even took her car to the car wash on the way back to campus. Every detail had to be in place. If she screwed up, she didn't know if she'd ever get another chance.

Getting ready extra early, Sera left her room at exactly six o'clock on the dot. Their reservation was for seven, and she wanted to make sure they had plenty of time to get there. She had Jenny's balloons in one hand and the purple gift box she'd charmed to hold the cookies, perfume, and alcohol-free champagne she'd bought for Jenny in the other. When she reached Jenny's door, she paused and took a deep breath. Fiddling with her bowtie a bit, while holding the box under her arm, she tried not be too nervous. It hit her, all of the panic, just outside of Jenny and Ella's door but she did her best to just brush it off. Why should she be nervous anyway? She'd taken Jenny out almost more times before than she could count.

When she felt like she was ready, pulling out the mirror in her purse to check her hair beforehand, she reached out and knocked gently.

Jenny had been pacing her own room more nervously than she would have wanted to admit to Sera. She honestly didn't even know why she had agreed to go out with the younger girl on Valentine's day, effectively wasting both that and her own eighteenth birthday. Even though February fourteenth was generally one of her favorite days of the year, this had been of the worst ever so far. She had just been in an off mood, nervous and worried about how the night would go, all day long. Paula had already made comments earlier over video chat about how peaky she was looking.

Something about the other night had stuck with her. She was mad at Sera still, apprehensive as hell, but she couldn't just let her go and write her off. There was something more between them, and even if she felt awful for not spending Valentine's day with Charlie after all that the blonde had done for her in the last couple of months, she did want to be with her ex. It was a weird thought, but she truly did. Sera had broken her heart, and totally broken her trust. Hell, she had even lied to her about Hunter. But she could forgive that, couldn't she? If she had the time, she felt she could. They just needed to work together.

She didn't even care what they did tonight, which was the worst part. So much as she wanted to be angry and put off with the brunette, she just couldn't stop thinking about opening the door and seeing Sera standing there. It had been too long. She missed her terribly.

When she finally heard the knock on her door, she turned to look that way, hesitating a moment and letting out a shaky sigh. This was it, make it or break it. She couldn't keep getting jerked around or shunted aside, but if Sera meant everything she had said the other night after their fight with Max, then maybe they could give each other another chance. If not, then Jenny didn't know. She just hoped things would go well, that they could talk, really talk and get through things together, like they had always done before.

Moving over to her door, she unknowingly mimicked Sera on the other side, pausing to check her own hair before she opened up. She hoped the dress wasn't too much. She had gotten the younger girl a card, unsure what else she should have got but not wanting to go empty handed. No one deserved to get nothing on Valentine's day. Trying not to look too excited, Jenny regarded Sera with a very small smile. "Hey," she greeted her softly.

"Hey!" She replied back, giving the blond a big grin and handing her the balloons. She was still nervous but she was doing a pretty good job hiding it. "Can I come in?.. or should with just go?" She asked cheerfully, as if there was nothing at all wrong between them. This night, more than ever, she really hoped, wouldn't end up turning into another night.

It felt a bit strange being in Jenny's room though,it looked exactly the same as it always had. And that only made her miss her more. "I'm ready if you are.. oh yeah I forgot I got you this too." She gigged a bit, till smiling brightly when she handed over the charmed purple box. She was practically shaking inside she was so happy, the happiest she'd been since at least Christmas Eve.

"Uhm, yeah. Of course you can come in, if you want? I'm basically ready," Jenny replied quickly, stepping aside to make way for the brunette to come inside. She hadn't been over for ages, before Christmas vacation, and it was sort of disturbing to Jenny just how readily she wanted to let her back in. Things were different, but it was surprisingly easy to feel like everything was just normal again.

They had been on numerous dates, but this wasn't the same. Moving over to put the balloons by her desk, she turned back at Sera pulled out the box. "You didn't have to get me anything," she informed the younger girl quickly, before gently beginning to open it up.

"I like your bow-tie," she added, glancing up at the brunette for a brief moment of eye-contact before she went back to unwrapping her gift. She felt rather stupid about just getting her a card now, but she quickly had to remind herself that it was all right. They weren't together or anything, and she didn't owe Sera a gift or something.. but she also hadn't been expecting the brunette to shower her with gifts either. But she should have expected it. Extravagant presents had always been one of the younger girl's favorite ways to apologize.

She took a step past Jenny, still glancing around a bit. It really did feel like forever since the last time she had been there. She hated the thought of someone else, Charlie, being in there with Jenny. Especially after glancing at the blonds bed for just a second. She tried to just shake it off though. "No worries, take your time. Our reservation isn't for bit."

"Thanks," She added, smiling a bit silly at the older girl, just ignoring the first part. It was her birthday and Valentine's Day she wanted to get her something.

Waiting a moment for Jenny to open up the box, Sera grinned a bit as she pulled out the three gifts. She really hadn't gotten her that much. Not compared to some other past holidays anyway. She wasn't trying to buy back the blondes love or anything, but she had always loved to spoil her. She still had her parents money for now, but it was worrying not knowing how much she'd have when she was on her own with living expenses and everything. She figured she might as well take advantage of having expendable income while she could.

"I was thinking we could maybe have some of the champagne and cookies later. You don't have to share with me though if you don't want."

"You still didn't tell me where we were going," Jenny commented, carefully opening the box and moving back over by her desk as she pulled everything out. She examined the perfume closely, turning and glancing over at Sera. "You didn't have to," she murmured again, though she was already spritzing a little bit on. Sera knew that she was a sucker for perfume, damn her. She couldn't help the way she was smiling.

"I could share with you.. but isn't it sort of a stretch to presume you're coming back here with me later?" she grinned, moving over to her bed to take the little purse that she had picked out to take with her for the evening. Moving back over to where Sera was, closer to the door, she hesitated for a split second before leaning in to plant a very quick kiss on the brunette's cheek. "Thank you," she said quietly.

"Does it smell good on me?" she asked, smiling a little wider.

"No, I wanted to Jen.." She replied, watching Jenny look over the perfume. "I just saw it and thought of you, I guess. We're going to that place you like, the one that over looks the river?" She couldn't help but smile when Jenny glanced over at her and when she tried some of the perfume. "Do you like it? I thought the bottle was pretty cute." She added.

"Oh.. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." She immediately started to apologize but loosened up at bit once she saw the grin on the older girls face. "We don't have to come back here. I can just walk you to your door. I'll have you home at whatever time you want." She giggled, glancing over at Jenny and adjusting her bowtie.

Sera actually blushed a bit when Jenny kissed her cheek, feeling them warm up slightly. Things seemed to be going pretty good so far, she really didn't want to screw it up. "You're welcome. It smells amazing Jen." She whispered back, keeping her eyes fixed on Jenny. "You wanna uh, get going then?" She asked, figuring Jenny was just about finished gathering up the last of her things.

She took a few steps towards the door, holding it open for Jenny. When the blond reached the door she offered her one of her hands. She wasn't sure if Jenny was going to take it but she wasn't going to get anywhere without taking chances. When it came to getting Jenny back, Sera really had no problem putting herself out there and looking like a fool if she had to.

Jenny supposed she should have figured that Sera would pick one of her favorite restaurants, and she couldn't help but smile. She guessed the brunette was really pulling out all of the stops tonight. She made a quick stop to her nearest dresser, putting the perfume down carefully, before heading out of the door that Sera held open for her. "Thank you," she said simply, pausing for just a moment before taking the hand that the younger girl offered out to her.

"You know, that place is expensive. We didn't have to go anywhere fancy," Jenny informed her slowly, as they made their way down the stairs through the Quirank dorms. She was trying to be careful with her high shoes on the steps, and she held Sera's hand quite tightly. "We could have just got chicken nuggets," she half-joked.

"I know you like the view that's all." She turned to Jenny smiling and swinging their hands a bit between them. Walking hand in hand with her ex, everything really did seem like it was back to normal again. Sera really could not have been happier. "It's no problem, Jen. It's really not that expensive.. I could be taken you to that French place I like." The brunette laughed a bit, turning back to Jenny again. That place was expensive. She usually only got to eat their when her mom was in town for lunch or something.

"We could always get chicken nuggets for our second date?" She joked back, squeezing the older girls hand a bit back. "Maybe Macdonald's? I haven't been there in forever actually. Max doesn't -- I just haven't been there in a while." She went with instead. She really just didn't want to talk or think about him at all right now.

When they reached the car Sera finally let go of the blond's hand, holding the passenger door open for her instead. Closing the door behind her she made her way around and crawled in, quickly pulling on her seatbelt. "All set then?" She asked, turning to Jenny, who she noticed was already all bucked in too. She flicked the radio up a bit, turning it to a station that didn't completely suck. She left it fairly low though, just incase Jenny wanted to talk on the way there. Sera kind of wanted it a cigarette, but she didn't want one if Jenny wasn't having one. She didn't want to stink the whole night.
