Mo still wasn't cool with this. Yes, working with trainee Lanterns was what she did and it was where her strengths lay. Her dedication and knowledge made her a natural option to help mold the Corps as it expanded. She enjoyed it...when she was doing it in the classrooms and training facilities on Oa. Being on Earth to field train a...difficult Lantern was not her idea of a good time.

And she suspected Dex knew it.

"Alright. Up. Now."

Mo yanked the covers off of him. That she'd barged into his bedroom didn't phase her. That it was 5:45 am and he was asleep annoyed her.

"Wakeup is 5:30. Do I need to teach you to tell time?"

"I slept. It's that thing I did when I said 'I'm going to bed' last night while you were still watching television. If you didn't insist on sitting up and rotting your mind with primitive forms of entertainment you'd have slept, too. Now get up and for god's sake put on some damn pants."

She stepped away from the bed, shaking her head at him. It was was that he didn't strike. She would have had to hurt him for that.

	Dex threw off the covers, not concerned that he was completely naked. If she was going to wake him up, she got to see him in his pajamas. He rolled over off of his stomach and swung his legs over the side of the bed. Unconcerned about her presence, he grabbed a pair of jeans and pulled them on. "What's in store for today?" Sweet Jesus he was naked. Again. Tuesday it'd been eating breakfast naked. Nevermind that naked worked for him, it was just irritating. Did she walk around nude? No.

"Patrol. Orbital patrol first, then we swing out and check as far out as Venus and as far in halfway to Mercury. Then we'll swing back and do another orbital patrol before coming back home. And this time pay attention? No more blasting harmless asteroids and nearly taking me out in the process."

	He wished she'd walk around nude. It'd give him more something to look at. Dex grumbled as he grabbed a shirt off the floor, sniffed it and then pulled it on over his head. "Then start taking things seriously or you'll be going back to being a slave on Karna. Do whatever it is that you do in the mornings and meet me in the living room."

She exited his room, slamming the door behind her. It was only when she got to the living room that she realized that she'd pretty much threatened to send him back into a living hell of sorts.

"Way to go, Maura..."

	/That/ just darkened his mood. Dex wasn't the most chipper or happiest of people, but mentioning going back to Karna made his generally bad mood even worse. He didn't bother with anything else. "Suit up."

Her ring did the work and she was transformed into her own uniform in nearly an instant. She waited for Dex to do the same and once he had, she'd lead the way from the apartment up into the sky right until she hit the moon's orbit.

"Look. Dex. I didn't mean what I said quite the way it sounded. I'm sorry. I forget sometimes that Karna isn't Korugar or Ungara."

This was going to be the longest assignment ever. A pseudo-partner who was barely polysyllabic on a good day, who walked around naked in the apartment, how was quick to throw a punch and careless, who ate all the damn Cheerios regularly and didn't replace them. Dex wasn't the only one bored, but she flew right beside him. Sooner this was over, sooner she could...go write reports.

At least they were polysyllabic.

	The patrol had been rather uneventful. There may have been one smashed asteroid when Mo wasn't looking and was far enough away to not complain about it. His mood had improved a little during the course of the trip. He wasn't as nearly as grumpy as before. "Quiet," he said as the neared Earth. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Mo hadn't noticed the asteroid. She'd been busy picking out interesting features on Venus in order to pass the time and then when not looking at the planet, spent her time wondering how Venus had ended up toxic while Earth was lush. Dex had been so quiet that when he spoke as they started their return she was actually startled.

"What?" Her voice was low and she readied her ring.

"Oh. Yeah. It was quiet." She relaxed a little and dropped her arm back to her side. "Uneventful patrol, other than the lightning storm on Venus. You know, I think we could go even further out. I haven't been out by Jupiter since I got to this realm." She wanted to offer that some of Jupiter's moons made for great picnic spots, but she held back. Wasn't professional.

She actually grinned and changed course. Instead of heading for Earth, she turned to head deep into the Solar System. Technically this was just on the edge of what was permissible. They didn't have any directive to go flying about beyond patrol but...it wasn't breaking rules, either.

"Wanna...wanna do agility drills?" She tried to get business-like again to mask the glee of flying deeper into space.

	"I'm not going to lose, rookie." She grinned and plowed forward to get the asteroid she desired. It was small-ish...messing with the larger ones could cause issues, but it was still a big honkin' piece of space debris easily the size of a house. She chucked it at Dex. "INCOMING!"
