Berkeley

"I've been sitting here too long by a man from Milwaukee
He's been talking too long on his yellow walkie talkie
He's been talking to Mars but I think he's wacky
He says they'll come get him, come get him some day"

-
Man From Milwaukee, Hanson

“Bloody hell, its about time you got here!”

Berkeley looked over his shoulder then back to Johnson confused. “I’m not even late, what are you bitchin’ for?”

“Oh I know but the hanger is in a fit. There is an owl on your desk.”

Berk blinked at the man standing in front of him. “I--uh-- wait, what?” he stuttered out as he tried to process what Johnson was saying. He worked hard to keep his wizarding life separate from his one at work, and now there was an owl here. Maybe it was a coincidence. Some wild owl got in the hanger over night, and just happened to pick his desk to perch.

“An owl. And it won’t leave. It attacked Perkins when he tried to get him out earlier.”

“Is this a joke?”

“I wish it was, sir.”

“Fucking hell.” he muttered before stalking into the hanger, and low and behold there was a small owl sitting on his desk like he belonged there, his coworkers, standing around trying to figure out what was going on, and how to get rid of it. Berk ran his hand down his face and sighed, “Damn it,” drawing the attention of everyone and the owl.

The latter of which hooted and immediately flew over to him and landed on his shoulder. He tried to shrug it off, but it was a persistent owl. Which he was going to murder. It and its sender.

“Aww. Looks like it was just waiting for mama bird.” Lieutenant Perkins said with a snicker.

“I’m just going to go get rid of it. Don’t you all have work to be doing or something.” said leveling them all with a glare before turning and walking out the door.

“Everything alright there, Captain?”

“Christ, is everyone going see me with this damn owl?” he cursed snatching the letter from the owl and shoved in his pocket before he remembered who . “Er. I mean, Morning Colonel McLaggen.”

Colonel McLaggen looked at him for moment. “Hmm. If I didn’t know better I would think you were a very strange man, Darcy.” he clapped Berk on the shoulder before walking past him into the hanger. “Meeting in ten.”

Berkeley huffed before he straightening his shoulders and following the Colonel back into the the hanger.
“Colonel, I’ve been sitting next to Milwaukee for far to long. Can I have a new desk? He’s strange.”

“Hey!” he interjected shutting the door.

“Sorry no offense.” he said with a shrug. “I was partly kidding.”

“No Lieutenant. You can’t move. You could learn lots for Captain Darcy.” Colonel McLaggen said not looking up from his notes.

“Thank---”

“Despite how strange he is. He’s from Wisconsin. What do you expect.”

Kendall

"Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything."

-
The Lazy Song, Bruno Mars

The very first piece of furniture Kendall purchased when he got a place of his own was his couch, and he loved his couch. When he wasn’t on the pitch, it was his favorite place to be. If he was quite honest, he wasted hours laying on the couch, eating cereal, doing the puzzle in the daily prophet, listening to the wireless, watching the telly (Muggles were hilarious and this was the best discovery of his adult life) or what have you.

Today was no different. Once he got out of the shower he pulled on a pair of sweats and collapsed on his couch to read the latest Quidditich Weekly. Currently, he was engrossed in the latest article on the Falcons, apparently they were making moves up in the standings and had thier eyes on pouching quite a few players from a few teams. He himself had gotten a offer in the post. Apparently they wanted him back now that thier latest seeker had suddenly decided to retire. (Really, one to many bludgers to the head, and he just couldn’t think straight anymore.) Like he was ever going to that team. He’d much rather put up with Axe.

Suddenly his world tilted and Kendall was on the floor. Kendall looked up from where he landed up to the offender. Felicia was standing behind the couch, arms folded across her chest, brow raised. “For a seeker, you are incredibly unobservant at times.” she said as if that explained why she had flipped him off his couch.

“I feel that was uncalled for.” Kendall said with a slight pout. “But now you have my undivided attention.” She certainly had unique ways of gaining it. Flipping him off the couch, blugders hit towards his person, smacks to the back of the head.

“I don’t think so. If this is really how you spend your time, I may have to rethink this relationship. I can’t date such a lazy bum.” Felicia said looking down at him. “Its kind of disgusting that you can have abs like that while spending half the day doing absolutely nothing.”

Kendall propped himself up on his elbows, not bothering to get up from the floor. “I could work harder on getting rid of them if that’s what you really want.” he said with a shrug of his shoulder.

“Let’s not be rash now. Kestrals can’t have their seeker getting slow.”

“I’m wounded.”

Felicia took Kendall’s spot on the couch. “Hmm, I’m sure you’re ego will recover. What are we doing today?”

Kendall sent her a mock glare before laying back on the floor. “Today I don’t feel like doing anything.” He said staring at the ceiling.

“Unacceptable. That’s what you did yesterday. You have an hour to think of something.” She said getting up from the couch. “I’m going to go get ready. I expect nothing less that awesome, Broadmoor.”

“I’ll have you know spending the day on the couch with me, is the the definition of awesome Bulstrode.” Kendall called after her as he got up from the floor. “But I’ll accept your challenge.”

Chester

"Please understand this isn't just goodbye,
This is I can't stand you."

-
No It Isn't, +44

"And after all this time that you still owe
You're still a good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out while you can"

-I Don't Love You, My Chemical Romance

"I'll be there when your heart stops beating
I'll be there when your last breath's taken away
In the dark when there's no one listening
In the times when we both get carried away"

-When Your Heart Stops Beating, +44

“Go on, get up. Prove to me that you don’t deserve this.” Chester said looking down at the sobbing figure on the floor. “Get up and a get out while you can. The door is right there, unlocked and unwarded.”

The woman on the floor could barely sit up let alone get up and move and Chester couldn’t help but chuckle as he knelt down in front of her. “Or maybe, even you know that when I knock you down and out, its where you ought to stay.”

“Why are you doing this?” she let out gasping for breath. “I thought... I thought you loved me. I am the mother of your child.”

At that, Chester out right laughed. “You think that actually matters to me? Some girl that can’t even carry on my name. Conceived unplanned at some party that I barely remember. For all I know she isn’t even mine. What is she worth?” He pressed on his knees as he stood up. “Don’t fool yourself. I don’t love you. You just played conveniently into my plans at the moment and now---” he paused studying his nails. “Well now I’m bored. And I don’t quite like being bored.” He stood and made his way to the door.

“Wait” Jen said coughing up a bit a blood grabbing onto his boot stopping him from leaving. Oh she did have a few bold moves in her after all. “You’re just going to leave me here? What about Elisabeth... where is she? What have you done with her?”

“You think I actually care where or how that child is?” he asked plainly as if it were the stupidest question ever, “Why are you even worried about her when your own life is on the line?” he kicked his foot shaking her from his leg. How pitiful. Almost not even worth the effort, but he had to finish what he started. “I’m just taking a small break. Just a bit hungry you see. But don’t you worry, I’ll be here when your heart stops beating. Couldn’t fathom leaving you alone for that.” He walked away from her as she continued to cough and moan. Certainly did a number to her.

“You won’t get away with this, my brother won’t--”

“You’re family is the very least of my worries, dear.” he said honestly. “And believe me, I have already been cleared by the hitwizards. Tragic thing, my wife kidnapping my child and disappearing, all the while trying to frame me. I’m absolutely distraught.” He shrugged his shoulders before shutting the door on her, leaving her to stew for a few more hours before he’d come back and finish what he started.
