It's a relatively quiet day in Latveria, when the saucer appears over the castle, humming with energy and shining brightly as a holographic display appears before it. A gorilla bellows in dynamic tones.

"All shall bow before Woo Yen Jet! Master of the Golden Horde and The Atlas Foundation, whose visage silences even crying babies! He who is Khan of the Eternal Empire! He would have words with whoever rules over this land!"

Damn but there ain't nothin' like a good entrance. Even if he's spewing out scripted lines.

The magical wards were set to register just before something hit what was legally Latverian airspace. At the rate the craft came down from orbit, that didn't give Kristoff much time, but he was fortunately near the right equipment.

The message was both broadcast to the intruders and loudspeakered into the city. The people of Doomstadt must hear that this is all under control. "This is Latveria," the boy's voice rang out formally. "Nobody bows before foreigners unless they're charming young ladies. You will land in the light-indicated field beside the castle now."

Kristoff had no idea why Latveria would be of interest to the late Golden Claw's organization, but he was going to find out, and find out on his own terms.

Now that first contact's been made, Ken opens a more secure channel, directly into the castle, as Bob lands the saucer.

"Okay, we both made our big talk for the little folks to let them know something's going on but it's handled. Mind if I come inside while my buddy puts it in park? Got some business to talk to you or your boss about." Ken shrugs off the official vestments Lao's acolytes had fit him with, now wearing only a Hawaiian shirt.

	"Good afternoon, Hale. I'm Dr. Vernard. Dr. Doom isn't here. Something I'm fairly sure you should be aware of. The Foundation surely has news services along with such... impressive transportation." Kristoff sits. "The Master's records indicate the Foundation is a long-established organization which is still a minor player in underworld affairs. Your...boss's predecessor crossed Dr. Doom in a minor matter once, but not one of lingering concern. I also know that based on what information he has on Woo, he considers him a good man. Would you like something to drink, Hale?"

Ken Hale's worldly enough to know that "considers him a good man" isn't all that concrete an answer.

"Just coffee, please. Now, here's the thing. The whole 'underworld' thing? That's old regime, and it's been priority one under Jimmy's leadership to clean out the cobwebs. It's a kinder, gentler Atlas. We're here to help.

Of course, we can't just come out and say that to the world, which is where my visit here comes in."

"Pretty much." Ken sips the coffee. "Mm. Good stuff, thanks." He sets the cup back down and continues.

"We think it stands to benefit us both. Latveria gets back some of the resources that got burned through in the recent... complications, Atlas channels its funds into good work.

No offense, but a little more than half the masked world thinks Doom's just running the long con, instead of the short. It sucks, I know."

Ken smiles, sipping more of his coffee. "Kid... I know my good looks cover it up, but I'm an old man. I been around the block plenty. I know a good man when I meet one, or see how he conducts himself.

And now that I'm sure yer fascinated enough by me, I'll add that I did my homework. Talked to people who know ya'.

You're old for your age." He shrugs. "Like most a' my buddies."

"Well... we've got a really vocal on-board respect for oceanic clean-up. Besides that, we like direct food and medical supply distribution to impoverished areas, none a' that nonsense with handing it over to the local gov and expecting it to still reach the people who need it.. Libraries, hospitals, homeless shelters. Simple stuff that hopefully can steer clear of too much of the local authorities.

Jimmy's basically got a budget surplus that he wants to make sure doesn't wind up in idle hands. New guard versus old guard situation."

Please accept this token of my master's condolences for any undue decorum by Mister Hale. He is wonderful with entrances and dispensing with unnecessary details, but, from what limited information our files have on you, may not have been the best choice.

Enclosed is an inactive mark 21 unit of the Menacer series androids created by Atlas. While it lacks the long-impregnable magical protections granted by our draconic benefactor to our comrade, M-11, I believe yourself and your father will find it an interesting case study. Very little Atlas-founded technology has ever been dispersed.
