Out For a Swim (Open)
Cait couldn't wait to get down to the bay and see Hope from the moment they had returned to the Titans Tower. As soon as she felt settled in, she slipped on a bikini and headed down to the water. There was no sign of Hope and her pod, but Cait sent out a message. If they were anywhere in the area they would hear it and come.

Cait smiled and swam out to the mouth of the bay and waited.

It didn't take long for a pod of dolphins to appear and Cait immediately spotted Hope. She kind of stood out. Hope! As soon as the dolphin was close enough Cait wrapped her arms around the pink dolphin.

	Hope chittered happily jumped out of the water, doing a flip in the air. "Arthur and I will get along when he realizes he can't control me or my life," Cait said. "I'm well." Cerdian lies. In fact, he wasn't doing poorly, but he wasn't great, either. Lian was always in his thoughts these days, whether or not he wished her to be.

"Enough of me, though. How are things with the Titans? How is everyone? I keep meaning to go and see Iris, but something usually comes up. I think she's going to be mad at me when I finally do." he says.

	Cerdian nods at Cait's explanation, noting that his feelings for Lian seem the same way, though he wonders if that's a good idea. "Do you ever wonder if you and Ty can be truly happy, despite that fact that he is of the land, and you are of the sea?" Cerdian asks. "No," she said. "Despite Arthur's attempts and disapproval Ty and I are happy. I would be happy with Ty no matter where he was from or where I was from. It doesn't matter to us."

She smiled at him. "I died, Cerdian. That came between Ty and I and yet here we are. We're still together. Arthur and Atlantis are trying to come between us now, but they won't succeed. Ty and I will be together no matter what. I know with my heart that we will be."

"Do you remember Lian?" Cerdian asks.

Cait probably will. She's the surface person he's spoken most highly of and has for years. Being a woman, Cait would have picked up on Cerdian's...infatuation with the human woman.

"I can't stop thinking about her, Cait. I have loved for a long, long time...but now she is having another man's children. I don't know if I can live with that. We fight all the time now and I just don't know what to do anymore.

I tell myself that I will cut my ties with the surface and never go back, yet I can't bring myself to do it fully." he says quietly.

"How do you forget someone who has already forgotten you?" he asks.

"I remember her, Cerdian. A blind man could see that you love her and I doubt that she has forgotten you. You're pretty hard to forget."

Cait sent Hope out to rejoin her pod. They didn't need to be interrupted by a dolphin wanting attention.

"If you love her as much as I know you do, then it doesn't matter that she's having another man's children. They're a part of /her/ and you love /her/. Focus on that. Love /that/ part of them."

Cait put a hand on his shoulder. "Love knows no bounds and has no conditions. Listen to your heart and follow it."

"But isn't that selfish of me? To want her love when her children have to come first in her life?" he asks. He's wrestled with that question for the a few weeks now, every since he last spoke to her.

"She told me she loved me a few weeks ago and I...I walked out on her Cait. I didn't think it was right to tell her that and I was still hurting over everything. I let her believe that my father arranged for me to marry another woman because we were fighting.

I know it was petty, but I didn't want to look weak to her." he says.

"Do you think love can overcome foolishness?" he asks.

"Yes," Cait said with no little certainty. "Love can overcome anything. Even death. Arthur and I have our problems, but it doesn't mean we don't love each other. It's that love that will eventually make us reconcile no matter how many times we fight."

Cait put an arm around his waist.

"Cerdian, it's not selfish. We are capable of so much love and not all of has to be for one person or for just our children. I love Ty with all my heart, but I love others too. You, my parents, the Titans, Hope. Ty does not take any of my love away from the others no matter how much I love Ty. Lian's love for you will not take any away from her children."

Cerdian seems buoyed by Cait's words, nodding gently and smiling at her. When did she become so wise?

"You are wise beyond your years, Princess Little Fish. Thank you for listening to me. I guess I know what I need to do, but I needed to hear it from someone else so I didn't think it was just what I /wanted/ to do." Cerdian says.

"You will be a wise queen, someday, and you will lead our people well." Cerdian tells her.

"I have seen it."
