The city is at war
Gotham City was at it's boiling point.

In the streets, the wars between the crime families had reached its breaking point, with the death of another family head that previous night. The police had their hands full with trying to break up riots.

It had taken some very careful planning on his part, but Hush had managed to break out every prisoner in Arkham Asylum. The guards were dealing with their own personal hell, as the most dangerous criminals in Gotham City were all out of their cells, and they were trying to keep them from getting out into the city.

And now...it was time to test Batman and Robin. Hush delivered a package to Terry McGinnis, with pictures of Dana Tan tied up and beaten, along with his location, a warehouse in Gotham Harbor.

Attached was a simple note:

Choose.

The second he got the note, Terry made his way like a bullet to the Batcave.

He had Dana. That bastard had Dana.

Dana was kidnapped, Arkham had exploded, and the riots downtown were starting to get out of hand.

Terry called Maxine, Marissa, and Maria, and told them to meet him at the Batcave.

They had some planning to do.

"The city is practically on fire," Marissa said as she came into the cave. She'd been watching the news when Terry called.

Maxine had been keeping track of everything she could going on in the city right now and right now things were looking bad.

But right now she was more worried about the look in Terry's eyes. She had seen it a few times before and it was never something good. It always meant something bad had happened.

Maria, in costume, roared in on her bike and skidded to a halt with a squeal of tires. She climbed off and walked over toward the others.

"When I said I wanted some action, I didn't mean this kind," she said. "I wanted some up close and personal action that doesn't require clothes, not streets full of riots and prisoners breaking out of Arkham."

"I know," Terry said, mostly to Maria and Marissa. "This isn't exactly my idea of a fun time, either."

He sighed, sinking down in the chair in front of the monitor screen.

"There's riots in the streets, and Arkham is the seventh circle of hell right now...and it gets worse."

He place the photos of Dana and the note down on the console.

"Whoever's behind all of this...knows who I am." He looked over at Marissa. "I think it might also be the same guy that sent you those pictures of your mom when she died, too."

Marissa stopped cold as she looked at the photos.

"Yeah, that's the asshole. No doubt. He's an animal. We obviously have to get Dana away from him."

Before she ends up like my mom.

This whole thing with Gotham crime families going to war just wasn’t sitting right with Marcus. He had been keeping tabs on them for anything major happening that he could disrupt or blow up in their faces. However not once had he gotten wind of any of the families ordering hits against the others like this. Now maybe one could have gotten by him but no not this many times clearly something was up there.

While he would have liked to look more into what that thing was he had much more pressing concerns to deal with. Namely the gang war currently consuming the city. Personally he could care less about some thugs and gangsters killing each other but there were innocent civilians in caught up in the crossfire which was something he was very much so not ok with.

But is there was one thing he was good at it was being resourceful and he had a plan to focus this violence out of the streets and away from all of those people. He figured if he could cause a big an enough amount of trouble for all the crime families’ fast, kill a bunch of their guys, blow up a bunch of their businesses and wreck a bunch of their major operations they’ll all stop gunning for each other and come after him. It was a bit risky but would definitely be worth it though getting through the finally part might be a bit tricky.

While Marcus was fairly certain he could accomplish all of this rather quickly time really was of the essence. He had heard about a guy operating out of Gotham a black sheep in the league of assassins’ family who had a particular interest in the Gotham crime families and would not minds killing a bunch of them that went by the code name Legacy.

After arranging a meet between the two of them Marcus convinced him to help him out. Though at the same time he could help but feel that this guy would kill him the first chance he got and was good enough that he actually could do it. Still he got the help he needed and at least he knew that the feeling were mutual.

When the YJLA arrived at Arkham, they would find it to an absolute madhouse. Guards were trying to keep the chaos from getting out of hand, and the inmates were running amok, causing harm to whoever they could get their hands on.

The twins haven't managed to hook up with their usual gang yet, but that's ok - they can have fun on their own. Currently, they're bouncing around on the fire escapes and gutters, using acrobatic tricks to play high rise catburglars.

Jokerz, if memory served right. When it was Michaels' time to be on monitor duty, he would eat up the time by looking over the files of the villains they had fought, and the Jokerz came up. Stupid kids who emulated the sick clown even Michael had known about before he became a hero.

Batman landed the Batplane on the rooftop not too far from the warehouse. He motioned for Robin to follow him, until they were at the warehouse with Huntress. He saw Hush through one of the windows, glaring at him, as his eyes looked around for Dana.

He didn't see her. Now...he was really angry.

Batman nodded to Robin and Huntress and motioned for them to step back. He threw a batarang at the window and the glass exploded, shattering on the floor of the warehouse. Batman jumped through the shattered window, signaling for Huntress and Robin to do the same. He landed in front of Hush, glaring at him.

Simon Garrison waits patiently for the expected heroes to arrive. Sure, he could have given the guards the choice - but that's no fun. Besides, they don't have what he wants.

He's holding his scythe in one hand, though casually. In his other hand, he holds a control box.

Three guards are in classic 'hanging' position, standing on creaky, teetering chairs, ropes around their necks - just fine for now, so long as the chairs hold out and the psycho doesn't give them a little push - or probably do whatever that button does.

"Patience, patience my dear. We don't need to escape. Everything we need is right here."

Looters

While her ordinary providence was the realm of the mystical, Victoria Craft still called Gotham City home and she was not about to let its population degenerate to the level of mob chaos.

She paused before an electronics store, where looters had already broken the window. "I suggest you put those things back," she said, firmly. "And wait quietly for the police to arrive."

The looters gave her a look. She gave them a look back. It was one she used on her students and on the occasional minor demon.

Very quietly and quiet carefully, the looters replaced the merchandise on the shelf and stood, facing the wall, to wait for the police to arrive.

"Thank-you, gentlemen," Victoria said, and continued walking.

One Thing Done

Well his plan had certainly worked out well. Pissing off all the Gotham crime families sure had been easy and fun. They had more or less stopped trying to kill each other and were now focused on trying to kill him and the guy working with him not that they knew who he was. But now he was not the next part of his plan surviving part one.

Marcus was certain he could easily escape the crime family guys by laying low for a while and dealing with anyone who caught wind of him but his ‘partner’ was the one he was currently more concerned about. They both knew from the get go they would probably end up trying to kill each other and after seeing Legacy in action he had his doubts he would be able to do it. Well if he fought fair but Legacy had also pissed him off with his close shots to and uncaringness about the civilians around them when they were shooting up the crime family guys.

After stopping to rest for a moment from running and getting his bearings straight he knew it was the perfect time to act. Marcus quickly slashed Legacy’s back with a knife.

“Agh. You stupid idiot. I was going to wait a while to do this but I guess I get to kill you now,” Legacy said.
“Bring it on,” Marcus called back knife out and at the ready to strike again.

They went back and forth fighting on top of the building. Sometimes Marcus landed a few hits sometimes Legacy did. Though most of the time it was Legacy. He was damn good probably better than even the League understood he was otherwise they would never have let an asset like him just do whatever he wanted and barely do work with the league while operating openly in Gotham.

After fight for a few minutes Legacy finally got Marcus into a position to kill him holding his neck in an armlock.

“You really wasted that first strike of yours,” He said, “It’s a shame I really thought better of you.”

“Oh I didn’t waste it,” Marcus said defiantly, “You should be feeling it right about now.”

With that pain shot right through Legacy’s body causing him to let go of Marcus as he fell face first onto the rooftop.

“I knew I probably couldn’t beat you in a fair fight and that you would be on the lookout for me to betray you with something more flashy,” Marcus said kicking Legacy over so he could talk to his face, “Which is why I poisoned you in my first move instead. A nice lethal dose you wouldn’t even notice until it was too late.”

Legacy would have yelled something angry at him but was currently too busy foaming at the mouth and thrashing on the ground to do anything else. A few moments later his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he stopped moving.

By then Marcus had gone he still need to ditch the Crime Family guys but at least that was one thing off his to-do list.
