After hiding for a few days and several failed plans of trying to get back at that upstart, Brianna O'Hara, Zach had been back to his normal self, if a little touchier. The best way to get around feeling like crap was to hit on a pretty girl. His first thought had been Juliet, but well, Rhys had been hanging around her a lot lately and that was probably suicide if he wanted to do that. So when he found Kalista sitting alone in the common room, Zach made a plan. Getting a girl to flirt back and well, maybe more, that would definitely give a boost to his ego and help him get his mind off of Brianna for awhile. Despite what he was telling himself, her words hurt a lot more than the bruise on his side and the scratch on his chest. He wasn't disgusting or annoying and well he didn't want to get hit again, so he was staying away from her, just until he had a plan.
But for now, he was honed in on Kalista.
"Hello there, pretty girl," Zach said with a genuine smile, sliding onto the couch next to her. He peered over her shoulder at her books and raised an eyebrow. "You're such a good student, Kalista. Staying inside and studying on a day like today. It's really nice outside, everyone else is out playing in the sun." Of course that was probably why she was inside, to get away from all of those people so she could study but. God, studying was so boring. He could think of a dozen other things to do besides studying.
Brows furrowed as those amber orbs scanned over the black ink that was printed onto the text books pages. She had the book open on her lap, and her notebook on the table infront of her. Her mind was in about a million places, and DADA wasn't one of the main focus point of her thoughts. Twirling her quill inbetwen her fingers, she stared at the book, but she wasn't really reading anything. Now, it wasn't like she was thinking about anything all that important, but it still wasn't what she should have been thinking about. For some reason her thoughts were centered around Antonin at the moment. Guh. Stupid boy.
Raising her eyes once she heard the sound of a male voice nearby, she arched her brow with interest as Zach came in and took a seat beside her. She couldn't help but smirk a bit, looking back to her books as he spoke. "Yes, well...I'm afraid that as good as my intentions were, I'm not getting very much done," she said with a light sigh, closing her books, placing them on top of each other. Her long, jean clad legs crossed at the knee as her hands laced together, laying on her lap. "So, what's your excuse for staying inside on a day like this?"
This was good. It got her mind of Antonin. Focus on Zach.
"Aww, that's disappointing. Maybe you need a break from the whole studying thing. I find that it's easier to focus for like an hour and then take a break," he nodded in encouragement as she closed her books and turned her attention to him. Good, that was definitely good. "I just came in for my broom, because it seemed like a good day for a flight, but then I saw you here and figured you might ah, need someone to distract you from your boring studies. I mean, who wants to read up on DADA when it's such a nice day out?"
Zach shifted to face her more, his arm on the back of the couch behind her, "Though, since everyone is outside, it's nice an quiet in here. I mean, the air is nice an cool and the first years aren't running around trying to play tag over everything so. Yeah, this is definitely nice. The company is also far greater than it is on the front lawn."
"Well, it's a good thing I have you around, Sloper. I might have sat here for about another hour or so if you hadn't been here to suggest a break." She said this with a smirk, turning towards him as he spoke. She leaned against the back of the couch and looked at him curiously, trying to figure out what he was up to. "I have no idea who would want to read up on DADA when it's such a nice day out," she repeated back to him, a bit exaggerated.
She couldn't help but smirk again as he turned and placed his arm behind her on the couch. Glancing to the side taking notice of the slight decrease in space between them, she turned back and laughed quietly. "Oh, I have a feeling that you're not looking for 'nice and quiet', Zach." She said with a grin, leaning a bit closer to him. It wasn't anything major, but it still made a difference. "But, I do agree that it is nice to not have so much going on around here."
Zach gave her a smug smirk as she leaned in. Oh, she was definitely eating this up. He was just so smooth and she was definitely just like putty in his hands. He met her eyes and his smirk turned into a slightly shy smile, because well he was trying his hardest not to look down her shirt that was so conveniently right there. He couldn't come off as a total sleaze, now could he? Girls like Kalista required finesse and Zach was going to try his best to be smooth like that.
"To be honest I was, but now my attention has been diverted to other ideas that I'm sure would benefit from the quiet that has taken over the common room," he quipped. And of course he did have ideas, but he first needed to see where she was willing to go. There was some kind of rumor going on that she was with Antonin, but Zach could really care less about his roommate right now.
"Oh, I'm sure it has." She said very matter of factly about his attention drifting. Kalista was not as easy to mold as people thought she was. She liked getting what she wanted, but sometimes if it was just handed to her it wasn't as much fun. You have to stall a little bit. It just makes what you've been waiting for even better.
"So, are you going to share some of these ideas with me, or are you going to make me guess? But, I should warn you, I don't like playing guessing games. And it's very hard to make me do something I don't like to do. Almost impossible, really."
"Hmmm," Zach said thoughtfully, "if I tell you everything, that might just ruin my fun, so, I think we can come to a compromise over what to do. We could play... charades. Instead of you guessing what I'm thinking, you can guess what I'm doing?" he suggested with a grin. "We can't have you upset, now can we? But I know an astonishing beautiful girl like you has brains to match her outer looks, so it shouldn't be that hard."
Okay, a little immature and childish, but he couldn't just throw himself at her, could he? That would definitely be pathetic.
She thought over his proposition for a moment before giving him a sly grin. "Oh, I think I can handle a little game of charades. Are you any good at charades? Will I know what you're doing? Or, maybe I should ask...do you know what you're doing?" She wasn't dumb, and had a good idea about what this game of Charades would entail.
She turned a little more on the couch, those large bronze hued orbs focusing on him. "So let's play, shall we?" She asked this with a small quirk of her brow. "We don't know how long we have this nice, quiet, empty common room." Her voice was casual as she scanned the room before looking back to him.
"I'm fair at charades but... I do know what I'm doing." He shifted closer to her, reaching across her lap and resting his hand on the couch so he was pretty much in her space. "Though, I was thinking we could make it a pair game. But remember, no talking."
He reached up and touched her hair, with a light smile. Zach didn't quite know how he was going to show this, but he needed to impress her right. He trailed his finger down her jawline, pausing at her bottom lip. His first clue.
She bit her lower lip gently as he leaned across her, keeping eye contact as he moved. Her legs uncrossed and her hands moved so they were placed on either side of her. Slender digits curled under as she nodded to the rules of the game.
As he moved from her hair down her face, and to her lips, she couldn't help but notice that he smelt really, really good. It was nice, to not smell potion on a boys clothes when they were this close. Her lips parted as his finger paused on the lower of the two tiers. "Hm..." she said with a smirk, shifting a little bit beneath him, moving her mouth closer to his. "Mouth...lips..." she guessed slowley, her mouth moving closer to his as she spoke.
"Kiss...?" She smirked. "Am I getting warm?"
Oh, she was more than warm, she was hot but he wasn't supposed to talk and her mouth was so close to his and if he just tilted his head the right way, they'd be kissing but no, they were playing a game and guh, it was torture but. Zach nodded slightly, giving her a grin, not pulling back but not moving any closer either. He slid his hand down her neck and shoulder until he reached her hand.
He took her hand and squeezed a little bit before bringing her hand up to his chest and held it right there above his heart. Zach's pulse was racing and his breath was coming just a little quicker but this was really hot. He paused, just holding her hand against his chest, the second clue. Him, of course.
She canted her head to the side a little bit, and swallowed roughly as his hand travelled down her arm until her hand was in his own. With her palm flat on his chest, she stared at her hand for a moment or two, feeling his heart beat beneath her skin. It was fast, and she could feel her hand rise and fall with each breath he took.
Once her gaze travelled back to meet his own, she smirked. "Ah. I understand, now..." and used the hand that was on his chest to grab onto his shirt and pull him even closer to her. "Kiss...you..." she said as she pulled him before thier lips pressed together for a kiss. It lasted a few moments before she pulled back and grinned up at him. "I think I'm getting rather good at this game, don't you agree?" She asked this as her free hand brushed some of his hair back.
Oh, Zach was good. He had her kissing him and unngh she was so hot and sexy. Zach nodded at her question, she was definitely catching on quick. He would have to make his next clue a little harder, but for right now he wanted to kiss her some more. He pressed his lips to hers again. They kissed again, for longer this time, before he moved to deepen the kiss slowly.
The arm that was behind her head came forward to wrap around Kalista's shoulders, pulling her closer. This was definitely much better than going to play a pick up match of Beaters and Chasers. Zach was so the man, because he'd just come to get his broom and now he was snogging one of the hottest girls. In the common room, for just anyone to see.
Yeah, it really wasn't what she had been expecting either. But, come on, just look at Zach Sloper. She'd be called crazy if she had passed up the opportunity to kiss him. To touch him.
Up until this point her hand was still being held by Zach, feeling his heart race quicker as they kissed. Her own was beating quite fast about now, and she couldn't help but moan quietly into his mouth as he kissed her. Her long lashes were pressed together as she felt his tounge massage against her own, his lips taking off the flavored gloss that she had painted on her tiers a little while ago. Moving closer to him, she slipped her hand past his waist and reached up so that she was playing with his hair, the other moved to his neck, her thumb moving back across his jawline, feeling it move as he opened and closed his mouth against her own.
This was much better than studying for DADA.
Zach thought about asking her to come back to his room so they could maybe, you know but, screw the rest of the charades, Zach really just wanted more of this. Because Kalista was a great kisser and he was feeling really good and didn't want to move. He shifted his hands a little, one going to her hip and resting there for a moment as she played with his hair and touched his face.
When they both needed breath, Zach moved to kiss and suck on her neck, just lightly. He was kind of disappointed she wasn't wearing a skirt, but her top was loose enough for his purposes. While he was distracting her with some small love bites on her shoulder, he slid his hand under her shirt, just enough to have his fingers brush over the soft skin on her hip.
Her breathing was getting heavier, her body turning towards him a bit more. This was good. This was better than good, because she was snogging a gorgeous boy in the Slytherin common room. A gorgeous boy who really seemed to know what he was doing. That was SO a plus.
The moment he pulled away from the kiss, her lips curled upwards into a grin, sighing happily as he nipped at her skin and moved his hands to touch her. She felt her body shudder because of how soft he was moving across the barely exposed skin. Her hands moved up so she could lift up his head, giving him another kiss before her lips moved down his jawline over to his ear. His lobe was placed in between her lips and she sucked on it gently, grazing the skin a bit with her teeth as she pulled back before placing kisses on his neck, her hands moving to sneak beneath the back of his shirt, feeling his muscular back beneath her palm. Her fingers creeped up his flesh, kissing him again on the lips, and once she got up to below his shoulder blade, she dragged her nails gently down until she was at the small of his back, smirking against his mouth as she did so, her eyes opening to see his reaction.
Oh Merlin, this girl was good. Zach groaned, arching his back and closing his eyes at the sensation of her fingernails dragging down his back. He didn't break the kiss because, guh, that was great too and he even kissed her harder. Zach shifted her a little so she was lying back against the armrest and situated himself more on top of her.
His one hand continued traveling up her side, brushing the skin lightly. Zach wasn't trying to tickle her but, just touch. His other went to the underside of her knee, pulling it up on his hip so he could get a better angle to lean against her, his hand ending up on her rear and ung, who would have thought?
Antonin had been having a really bad day. "Bad" might even be putting it lightly when he thought about it. He had gotten average marks on two tests that day - and anyone who knew Antonin knew that may as well be on par with failing - banged his knee to bruising when he'd somehow managed to trip up the stairs, lost a library book and suffered the consequences (librarians were fucking scary and now he knew why!), spilled ink all over his nearly finished Transfiguration essay, and fallen off of his broom and into a mud puddle when trying to relax at the end of a very stressful day. To say the least, he was relatively pissed off. He had trudged in from the Quidditch field, robes dripping with mud and shoes squeaking as he went across the stone floor, trying his best to ignore the snickering from a few passing students - though, they all stopped their chuckling right quick when he'd sent deathly glares in their general direction. It was relatively common knowledge to not mess with a Dolohov when they were feeling violent.
To make matters worse, he'd found he was thinking about Kalista. A lot. As in, for every thought he had, he had three about her. Three. It was fucking insane and he wanted it to stop. Antonin was not one to care for feelings - especially about stupid fellow students - and this was not settling well with him. He was coming to terms with it, however, and finding himself even fancying the idea of asking her to perhaps accompany him to Hogsmeade. Girls liked that shit, right?
So when he walked into the common room and spotted her snogging Zach? He was anything but pleased. There was a distinctive crack from his knuckles as his fists clenched and he cleared his throat, "Shouldn't you two get a private room for this sort of rubbish?" He growled.
She didn't fight against him as he leaned her back, feeling him press against her a bit more as he reacted to her touch. Making out with him had done exactly what she hoped it would do. It took her mind off of Antonin for a little while. Resting on the arm of the couch, she snaked her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her as the already deep kiss got even deeper as his hand creeped up her body. She closed her eyes a little tighter and she let out a sound of satisfaction before everything was disturbed. She heard the door open, but really didn't process that someone was standing there...and she really didn't think that Antonin would be there.
Hearing the sound of his cracking joints and his throat being cleared, she pulled back from Zach and looked over to him. Shit. This was her first reaction, but she didn't want him to know that. She had waited for him for a long time, and for the first time in a while decided to be with just him for a while...and look where that got her. So, with a quirk of her brow, she moved her arms from around his neck so that he could back off of her if he wanted to. Looking from Zach to Antonin she eventually smirked a little bit. "Hm. I suppose we should, but before now there wasn't any point. It was so nice and quiet around here a moment ago." She looked at Antonin, almost as though she was challenging him. She wanted him to be jealous. Show that he actually gave a shit.
She was stopping. Why was she stopping? No it was just getting good and unng. Why did someone have to interrupt them now and why did it have to be his lame roommate? Zach felt her arm drop but he didn't want to move because Antonin was interrupting them so he should be the one leaving. Plus it was just getting good and god what was up Antonin's arse?
"Well, we were alone just a moment ago, so if you please. Just sod off, Dolohov, and leave us alone," Zach grumbled, sending a glare over his shoulder before turning back to Kalista and kissing her hard.
Oh, that buggering, bloody sod! He'd been about to answer Kalista's question with something particularly snappy, perhaps pointing out that this bloody Common Room was just that -- a COMMON Room. Everyone was allowed to be here and thus it wasn't particularly private. And... and... Fuck, why did he have to feel so pissed off?! She was just a stupid girl, just a stupid, pointless, worthless girl and he didn't need her, but he felt... bugger, his chest felt tight and he was pretty sure he was ready to kill someone - no, not somsone, he was ready to kill Zach.
Despite the fact that every bone in his body was saying that this was what Kalista wanted and he should not be doing it because being jealous was pointless, he just couldn't really stand there or even walk away. He tried - he was actually heading for the boys form stairs, fully ready to simply kick the shit out of his bed. He didn't like confrontation - which was odd, given the house he'd been sorted into, and it was no wonder his house mates thought him a fucking pansy, but most of the time this shit was just a waste of energy and--
Well, to make a long ramble short, anger took over rationality and he stormed over, grabbing Zach off of Kalista and pinning him to the nearest table by his throat. "Listen, you little shit. I don't like you. I never have liked you. I probably never will like you. Thus, I have no qualms about beating the living hell out of you. Before I do, I will give you five fucking seconds to tell me why I shouldn't and to promise me that you will keep your filthy hands off of Kalista from here on out. Ready? Go."
Okay, that was not cool! Zach sputtered as Antonin pinned him to the table and threatened him. Was he seriously getting angry over Kalista? It wasn't like they were an item and if they were Zach hadn't heard of it and that totally meant fair game! Right? But. Antonin was actually really fucking scary and Zach was having a hard time breathing. He and his brothers wrestled a lot but this was. He was the baby by 5 years and they kind of treated him nicer than this and holy shit Antonin liked Kalista!
Zach nearly laughed, but he couldn't because his airway was restricted by his roommates forearm, but if he'd known that well, then he might have thought about it a little more before actually snogging Kalista and he might have not actually done it but Antonin hadn't said anything about it and Zach hadn't heard anything but. Antonin was his roommate and teammate and that had some kind of loyalty to it, right? Zach stopped struggling and bit his lip, before giving Antonin a slightly apologetic look.
Zach looked over at Kalista, choking just a little and nodded his head, "Promise," he gasped out, before pushing Antonin off of him with a shove (but not so hard as he would've if he'd truly been angry). He couldn't let them think he was just going to lie there and take it, right? "Just leave me the fuck alone," he growled, glaring at Antonin before storming off to the boys dorm, slamming the door shut behing him.
Even though Zach had kissed her again, she held back a little when she returned it. She did want to make Antonin jelaous, but with him standing right there it was a little hard to kiss someone else...why it was hard, she had no idea. It was bothering her a little, though. Normally she didn't have any lingering feelings for anyone, but something about Dolohov just...GUH.
Thier new kiss ended a little differently than the previously one, feeling Zach get torn away from her and off of her. Swigning her legs over the side of the couch she sat on the edge of her seat, staring at Antonin a bit annoyed. Those perfectly sculpted brows knitted together as he spoke, her lips pursing together. "Antonin, just let him go!" she said as she heard Zach choking beneath Antonin's grasp. Her eyes locked with the less fortunate of the two males, when he had to answer Antonin's question. Promise. He agreed? What...?
When Zach made his way to the boys dorm, Kalista waited until the door was shut behind him before rising to her feet. "What the fuck gives you the right to come in here and act like you own me, Antonin? Did I miss something? Was your avoidance a sign of some sort?" she spat at him, not raising her voice. She wasn't yelling at him, but she was trying to make a point. Not waiting for an answer, she tried to walk past him, hoping to go up to her room. She wanted him to be jealous, and this is what she got.
So he did care...
He probably wouldn't have been so easily pushed back if he hadn't heard Kalista's request. Reluctantly, he let go, stumbling backwards with the shove and feeling his jaw clench. At least he'd gotten a promise. Dislike or no, he would've shown the same respect to Zach, and it felt good to know that that was returned. He ran his fingers through his hair, letting out a sigh, and had actually gone to say something - what, he wasn't quite sure - to Kalista, when she had already begun talking.
Oh bugger.
He grabbed her arm as she walked passed (gently, of course) to try and stop her. Why, he did not know, but after having threatening his roommate over a girl, it was rather stupid to just let her walk away. "It's not like you tried to find me either, you know," he said automatically, but biting his lip soon after. He let go of her arm finally, stepping away from her and clearing his throat. His arms folded over his chest and he gave a shrug.
"Besides, you deserve someone better than that kid." He spoke nonchalantly, as though he were just looking out for a friend or some such nonsense. He may have been meaning to ask her out, but now? It just... He felt to guarded, dammit. "But if you want to degrade yourself, by all means, I'll go tell him I changed my mind..."
When he grabbed her arm, she whipped around to face him, not looking very pleased. There were so many things going on inside of her right now, and she couldn't really piece them all together. She was kind of happy that he had gotten so angry because she was kissing someone else, annoyed that it took this to finally get his attention, confused because she didn't understand why he had gotten so upset, along with a few other emotions that she couldn't explain at the moment.
Her focus drifted to the floor as he pointed out that she didn't try to find him, and once he let go of her arm she crossed both of them over her chest, and turned so that he could only see her profile. After he was done speaking, she turned back to him and shifted her weight onto one foot, rolling her eyes a little bit. "I deserve someone better?" She began to take a few steps towards him as she spoke her next string of words. "Tell me something I don't know, Antonin. Tell me why this pisses you off so much? If you wanted me, you could have had me. I took the first step. It was up to you to take the second. You didn't." By now she was behind him, her arms still crossed. "What am I to you, Antonin? Am I just a good shag?" She asked this with a raised brow, her jaw clenched together a little bit.
Antonin backed away a few steps from her when she came closer to him. Leave it to him to not back down in fear of men three times his size but here he was terrified to get too close to a fucking girl. His jaw clenched as she spoke, and he was thankful when she was behind him finally instead of coming closer, his eyes closing in relief. He'd been ready to make up some lie - any lie - when she asked what she was to him. His voice stopped working and he winced roughly. He was suddenly having a very terrible headache.
What was he supposed to say? Yes, that's all she was? Shagging was all any girl was, right? He tried to, but it wouldn't work - he couldn't say it. She wasn't just another good shag. Fuck, fuck, "Fuck!" The last word was spat out harshly, though he'd meant to keep it inside. He shook his head turning to face her and putting his hands to his head. He threw them outwards in a defeated manner, "I don't know, okay! I don't know what you are to me - I don't know what I am to you or what I want to be to you or what I want you to be to me. I just... I don't know what the hell I'm doing and I'm not... I'm not used to this, okay?"
Even though she asked the question, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to know the answer. But she waited. She stood her ground and just waited for him to say something. Anything. When he did, she couldn't help but flinch, not expecting him to spit out that single word the way that he did.
What was coming couldn't be very good.
When he turned around, she felt the need to take a step back from him, but didn't. She straightened out, and stared at him as he spoke. She waited a few seconds before she decided to speak. "You're not used to what...?" She asked, her tone different than it had been before. Her head was spinning, and she was more confused than anything. "I don't know any of those things either, but I'm sick of trying to figure them out on my own. We don't talk, Antonin."
Running his hands through his hair again, he flopped into a nearby chair, pinching the brim of is nose in thought, talking while his head was still in his hands. "I'm not used to thinking about one person all the time, or... being furious when a girl makes out with someone who's not me." He tried his best to not laugh when she pointed out they didn't talk. Who did? After all, Slytherins weren't particularly known for letting people in.
He looked up from his hands finally, looking at her with high amounts of speculation. What was she expecting to talk about? Surely not feelings or whatever it was girls were big on hearing from blokes when they wanted to sort things out. "So how are we supposed to figure it out together? I don't know about you, but I'm not very big on pouring out the very depths of my soul or some such shit." Talking was overrated, he thought. Highly so.
Kalista Rosier hardly ever felt guilty about anything. But, at that moment, she felt very guilty. Why, though? It wasn't like she was cheating on him, or anything. It wasn't like they were anything official. So, why did she feel guilty? Maybe it was because she knew that she didn't even want to make out with anyone who wasn't him, but did it anyway. Her arms dropped down to her sides, staring at the floor until he spoke again.
Another roll of her eyes was given as she sat on the arm of the chair that was next to the one he was sitting in. She was turned towards him, her hands on either side of her, her legs crossing at the knee. "I never would have guessed." The sarcasm was dripping from her words. "I'm not looking to get all deep and sappy. I'm not exactly one for care and share meetings, either. But saying something is better than saying nothing. What we're doing right now? This would be talking." She managed to smirk a little bit, adjusting herself on the chair. Her eyes travelled from his face to his clothes, her brows furrowing a little. "So...I'm guessing that was why you came up here in the first place...?" His clothes were completely covered in mud. There was even some in his hair.
"Huh?" He looked at her with a wrinkled forehead for a moment, before glancing down at his clothes. Oh. Right. The mud. He had completely forgotten about the rest of his day when he walked in on Kalista and Zach, but the reminder made him sigh lightly. He tried to brush some of the now dried mud off of his vest (he was still in uniform, as he hardly ever changed into regular clothes) and groaned when it didn't help any. It was his last clean outfit - he'd been planning on getting his clothes cleaned later that day, but that seemed to be working against him now. Antonin's day was definitely not turning out as the best to be had.
"Yeah. Fell off my broom. Figured I should probably get changed." He grumbled it a bit, not looking forward to wearing his overly worn out clothing. Last thing he needed was to look poor. "I guess I probably still ought to..."
"Hm. Probably." She said, rising from her seat to walk over to him. Standing beside his chair, she reached down to scrape off with her thumb nail some caked on dirt that was on his shoulder. She tilted her head to the side ever so slightly and dropped her hand back down to her side. "Well, I guess it's a good thing that you don't have any more classes today." He didn't even have to tell her that he didn't have any classes, because even without them talking, she knew his schedule. Past experiences with him told her when he had class and when he didn't, and vice versa. "How far did you fall?" she tried to play it off like she wasn't that concerned. He was moving around just fine, but it still hurt like hell to fall off your broom if you were up high enough.
He shrugged softly, wincing gently as he did so. Apparently when he wasn't in a wave of emotion, moving too much was definitely a bit of an achey thing to do. "Not too far. Fifty feet tops. I was landing and a gust of wind just managed to catch me off guard." And it had just had to have been raining earlier - or had they just watered the field? He didn't know and he didn't care all he'd known was that there was mud and it had splashed everywhere. He'd at least gotten it mostly off of his face and had managed to not get too much in his hair, so he was sure that he didn't look like as big a wreck as he could.
"I guess I'll just... be... right back..." He muttered, standing from his chair. He couldn't help but sigh as he trudged up the stairs to his dorm, ignoring the fact that Zach was still in there and grabbing a clean pair of clothes. He changed quickly, running back down stairs, and shoving his hands into the pocket of his fading blue hooded jumper. His jeans had a hole in the knee and his shirt was fraying at the bottom, but he tried his best to not care as he fell into his chair again. Perhaps she could assume it was just because he was into the latest muggle fashion.
Yeah.
Sure.
Antonin loved muggle fashion.
"Fifty feet? Bloody hell, Antonin, you're lucky you didn't break anything." This time it was a little harder to not show that she cared, but she tried to play it off like she was just being casual about his fall.
"Alright..." As he got up from his chair, Kalista paced back and forth in the common room, more thoughts running through her head. It felt like she shouldn't be feeling so worried about Antonin, being that 10 minutes ago she was being felt up by another guy. Was it wrong of her to be so concerned about him after that? If she felt so strongly now, why had she let what had happened, happen? What if he didn't walk in on them? What if things had gotten further? She kicked herself mentally for her decision, and was more then glad to be taken away from her complicated thoughts when he came back down the stairs. His clothes weren't a problem for Kalista, which was odd, because if they were on anyone else she would have cared. But, on him, they looked fine. Then again, everything looked good on Antonin Dolohov. Moving over to him, she lowered herself down next to the chair, her knees bending until she was able to fold her arms on the arm of the chair and rest her chin on them. She stared ahead of her for a few moments before she raised her eyes to look at him again. There was another question that she wanted to ask him, but hadn't yet.
"Are you still upset with me?"
Because, fuck, I am..
He wrinkled his forehead as he thought about that. He didn't know, really. He techincally had no right to be furious about the situation as he hadn't laid any claim down on her to begin with. But the image of Zach's hands and lips on her was burned into his mind and it wouldn't leave him alone. It made him want to go and beat the kid again and not speak to Kalista for another hour or so, maybe even a few days, and he had no reasoning behind it. Lifting his hand, he rubbed his jaw lightly in thought and paused with his hand over his mouth as he let out a sigh.
"Yes," he said finally. There was no point in lying. He was pissed and she may as well know it. How could he not be irritated still? She claimed to care for him - or, at least, showed that she did in her actions - but not five minutes ago she'd been ready to shag his roommate right here in the Slytherin Common Room! How could he trust that? Swallowing roughly, he leaned back into the chair.
"I've got no right to be, but I am."
Her gaze dropped when he replied. For some reason, she was relieved to here that he was still mad. It meant that she wasn't the only one angry about her actions. If he said he wasn't, than she would have thought that it was just him taking out his anger on Zach because he was having a bad day. But he was. She originally just wanted him to be a little jealous...but she wasn't expecting this.
"You're right..." She said quietly. He didn't have any right to be upset. "But I understand why you are. And..." Taking a deep breathe she exhaled it as a heavy sigh before she made eye contact with him. "I'm sorry."
Kalista Rosier was apologising? This wasn't normal. Rising to her feet, she took a seat on the arm of the chair that he was sitting in, her back to him. She began to pick at her nails, her hands resting on her lap. "I just think you should know that it didn't mean anything...and even if we-" She cut herself off, and stopped picking at her nails. She swallowed roughly and turned her head so she was able to see him out of the corner of her eye. "It wouldn't have meant anything. Not that it makes a difference, but I thought you should know. I don't want Zach..."
I want you.
"He was just...there. And after not hearing from you for a while, I was pissed off. It didn't mean anything."
He had really hoped that wasn't supposed to make him feel better. So what if he'd just been there? Was she always going to do things that just didn't mean anything just because that clearly meant she wouldn't have to worry about feelings being attached? Oops, it's not going to hurt if it didn't mean anything! Yeah, sure. He sent her a look - what was conveyed in the look, not eve he was entire sure. It was just very... cold. What was he supposed to say in response? That it's okay? He could have laughed at the very thought.
"Do you always have meaningless sex when you're pissed off at people, then?"
Harsh? Maybe just a little. While one could have taken it for a rhetorical question, it almost seemed like Antonin actually wanted an answer. He knew that she'd probably say no, but hell, maybe she wouldn't. Kalista was full of surprises, wasn't she? It was part of what he had found alluring. He just never knew what to expect.
She looked away from him as he asked her the question. Why did this upset her so much? Normally she would have just told him to fuck off, but for some reason she couldn't. Maybe it was because even though he didn't have a reason to be mad about it, the fact that he asked her what he did, hurt her. She felt her stomach turn as she processed the question. She tilted her head down so she was staring at her lap. "Despite what you might think of me right now, I'm not a whore, Antonin. I never do anything without having a reason for doing it."
She swung her legs around to the front of the chair, still sitting on the arm. "No matter what happened between me and you, it was never meaningless. And I didn't understand it. It was always different with you, and even now I can't figure out why. What the fuck is it about you that makes it different?" She looked down at him, her brows furrowed together. "I hate that you're angry at me. I never care what anyone thinks about me. I hate that I can't just tell you to just fuck off and mind your own business, and leave my personal life to me. I hate that right now, what I say right now it doesn't make a fucking difference." She looked ahead of her, and pushed some of her hair back away from her face. "I didn't know what we were. I didn't know if I was the only one. And I hated not knowing." She looked down at her lap again and let out a humorless laugh. "I'm just full of excuses, aren't I?"
Antonin tried his best to not laugh cruelly at her statement. She had reasons? So what? "Just because you have reasons for having sex doesn't make the option of being a whore null and void, Kalista," he all but snapped, looking at her with a lack of expression. He wasn't teasing, he was stating a fact. He wasn't necessarily saying that he thought she was a whore, but that he wouldn't leave it out of a handful of insults he could use should he so choose to attack her.
"Yeah, you're full of them, and they're all legit. I was an idiot for having not told you that I wasn't going to want you jumping my roommates just because I didn't talk to you for a week or more. Sorry 'bout that, won't happen again." He didn't know why he was acting so bitterly to her, given that she was apologizing so profusely. Perhaps it was just instinct. He didn't know. He swallowed roughly, looking away from her, and sighing.
"Sorry."
His comment made her jaw clench as she took in his words. She crossed her arms over her chest, and looked ahead of her, staring at nothing in particular, not saying a word. She didn't have anything to say to him at the moment. It was obvious that his words were dripping with distain, and even if she didn't want to admit it to herself, he had a point. Fuck. She was trying to make things right, even if it was hard to take what she was telling him seriously, after what he had just walked in on. Keeping this in mind, she tried her best to keep her mouth shut. She wasn't the victim here. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled it as a sigh and shook her head at his last apology.
"Yeah, well, that makes two of us then..." She continued to stare ahead of her before hopping off of the arm of the chair, so she was standing infront of him. Her hands were placed on her hips as she looked down at him. "I find it kind of sad that this was what had to happen for us to finally say something...says a little something about our relationship, doesn't it?" She stared at him for a moment before she turned and started heading towards the girls dorm. She stopped on the stairs and looked back to the chair. "You need to tell me what it is you want from me. You told me you don't know, so figure it out. When you do, come find me..." with that, she continued up the stairs to the girls dorm, shutting her door behind her.
She was done assuming.
