Nicholas scoffed the moment the man was gone and tossed the parchment into the nearest corner of the room. He did not want to see it right now, let alone have to deal with it.
He followed Madeleine easily enough and picked up Mina while she squirmed, bouncing her on his hip in hopes of keeping her from crying. It had worked in the past, at least. He sighed quietly when she spoke, trailing a hand over the middle of Mina's back.
"We --" he paused, "--aren't going to do anything. Being a muggleborn just means that neither of your parents were magical. It shouldn't matter, but --" But what? But he'd been keeping things from his wife about the fact that people who were in any way involved with muggles were being questioned extensively about their blood status? "--but it's started to, lately, with some of the Magical rulings going on lately."
He walked to the living room with Mina on his hip and picked up his M.A.G.I.C. card before Madeleine could take a look at it.
"We'll work things out, I just need -- to owl Adamina and Tim." Surely his sister could steal records from his parents' house or ... something. He was less panicked and more irritated by the whole situation, really.
