Fredrick!
Agatha normally hated going into Diagon Alley when it wasn't being struck down with restrictions and penalties, so to have to come here with an identification card to prove her oh-so-holy status as a pureblood, well. That caused problems.

But, her brother needed her. Mark had not talked to her in the past eight years as much as he had in the past three days. Which bothered Agatha to no end, but now that squibs needed escorts in the wizarding world, Mark was insisting that she take him somewhere every ten minutes. And--she normally would apparate him places when he needed to be somewhere, she liked doing him that favor, but it had only been three days and she'd already been to Diagon Alley thirteen times.

Fourteen, if she decided to not stick around while he met up with a girl in Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. Which she wasn't going to, as seeing her brother flirt was simply not something she wanted to be witness to. Agatha told Mark she'd be back, and he waved her off without a second glance. Good to be appreciated.

She was going to stop at the Magical Menagerie when she heard some arguing a few paces down. The ministry officials positioned around the alley were pestering someone. Lovely. With a shake of her head and her fists clenched in her ready-to-cause-a-scene manner, Agatha stormed up to stand beside the blond man that was being questioned.

"Why are you pestering my boyfriend?" Not that she'd even bothered to look up at the man in question, but Agatha figured that her fierce tone would be able to send the officials off on their way.

Fredrick squinted through his eyes and immediately recognized Agatha's face (it was so familiar because he had caught himself daydreaming about her once or twice or ten times since he last saw her--but this was neither the time or place). He didn't know how or why she was here and still hadn't a clue what was going on, but Jesus was he ever glad that he now had a hope of getting out of this situation in a hurry.

"I'm gonna be sending one helluva letter to the Ministry as soon as I get back to my flat," he spat, hardly concealing his contempt for the way these officials were treating him and her. His feet shuffled as his eyes darted back and forth between the card and Agatha. It was just too many things at once. Why were they acting like hired hit men, what stupid new law did he violate, Agatha being a witch? How many things had he missed!?

"Pureblood," barked the official to the other, glancing up from the card. He tossed Agatha's purse back to her. "Don't let us catch you leaving him unaccompanied again." And without even an apology, they both turned around and began walking away.

Fredrick stood in silence for a moment, the pain in his head becoming a little less dull. As soon as knew the officials were out of earshot, he breathed."What. The. Fuck. Are you okay? What the flipping flying fuck was that all about?!"

She watched them walk away with a hard stare boring holes into their backs (oh, how she wished she actually had that ability). How bloody rude? What, did they think that muggleborns were going to try and blow up the alley, or something? No, leave that to the psychotic purebloods who believed that the only way to have peace in the world was to wipe out thee unfortunate souls that didn't have such a rich history.

Ugh.

Agatha turned back to Fredrick, the frown still upon her face. Now that she was looking at him, she began to think about how on earth she hadn't been able to tell he was a wizard. He'd looked so relaxed and calm in the muggle world---well, okay, being muggleborn would help with that, but still. Agatha didn't even know if she was behaving like a muggle, so--maybe she just didn't know.

"I'm fine, are you okay? Those bloody berks are just abusing their power---" Agatha put out a hand, gesturing toward Fredrick, "Muggleborns aren't allowed in wizarding areas without an escort, because of those idiot Acts the Ministry keeps passing."

She puffed her cheeks, though. This completely changed her game plan, about accidentally bumping into Fredrick in the muggle world after stalking him for a few hours. Maybe this was the better way to go.

"So. You're a wizard. Fancy that."

Fredrick frowned. It was ridiculous that those officials were assuming that every person who walked through the alley was a Muggleborn--it wasn't even that though, now that Fredrick thought about it. Just the fact that they thought it was okay to treat anybody like that, Pureblood, Halfblood, Muggleborn, or Squib was just absolutely ridiculous. He knew times were desperate, but he would have thought the Ministry would keep some semblance of control over its employees.

He whistled loudly. "Teach me to not check my mail and owls for a week, eh? And I'm guessing your a witch by the way they let you pass by mostly unscathed." Fredrick rubbed the back of his head, wincing as his fingers brushed a very large bump forming.

Agatha put up her hands, in a 'what can you do' manner.

"Eh. That's what my enemies call me," she winked, and then realized she did and that she'd made a joke and---Agatha straightened up. He didn't need to know that she'd been plotting with Ophelia about how to make this work. Sure her friend probably thought she was a bit mad because of all the planning and mapping out of things, but only Ophelia needed to know how much thought had been put into that random meeting with Fredrick in the park.

He definitely didn't need to know that, that was for sure.

Running a hand through her hair, Agatha blinked a few times to try and figure out what the hell she should do, now that all of her plans had been thrown into a wall and ruined.

"We should get you some ice for that lump," she said, gesturing toward his head. "Or---well." Ugh, she could feel the blush growing, bloody hell, "I know a few healing spells. My best friend's a healer and he insists on--practicing. On me."

There wasn't much use in worrying about the Ministry at the moment, Fredrick thought to himself. There was a pretty girl infront of him that he'd been thinking about for weeks now and he could ask his family exactly what he missed when he got home.

So he laughed. It was unabashedly loud, cheerful, and made it sound as though he had already forgotten everything. It echoed off the walls of the nearly empty alleyway and immediately warmed up the atmosphere.

"I see," he said, his eyes smile making his eyebrows rise the littlest bit and the corny of his eyes close, "You're just trying to get out of getting icecream with me now, aren't you?"

Oh, hell. He had to have an amazing laugh too, right? Agatha felt her lips curving up into a smile and she tried not to look too amused, but, she finally just let out a laugh and looked down, face officially flushed. Great. Now she looked like a complete ditz getting all stupid and silly over a boy, God, the feminist club back at Hogwarts would be so ashamed of her right now.

"Actually," she said, gesturing to Fredrick to come closer so that she could get a look at the bump, "I hate the ice cream at the Leaky, and my brother's on a date at Florean's and would probably tear my head off if I went in there and interrupted."

An amused smile crossed her face though, "But, seeing as you know your way around the muggle world, maybe we could hit the one down on Charing Cross Road?"

"Only if we can get a banana split," Fredrick replied, squatting his knees slightly so she could get a better look at the back of his head.

"So, what's the diagnosis, doc? Am I gonna live?" He asked, grinning. It was so easy to joke around with her, to just play and flirt like this. Plus, he couldn't deny how it made him want to laugh even harder when he craned his neck around to see her flush.

Her lips were kept pressed together as she smiled, trying to hold back her laughter and keep some sort of dignity. She just knew he was enjoying this, and didn't pause for a second to push his head back down so that she could actually look at the bump.

"Oy, you've got a unicorn horn coming out of here," she said with a tsk, moving his hair around a bit. Oh, Merlin, she was touching his hair---not a big deal, Agatha, geez! It was just hair. It was just really nice--hair.

Clearing her throat and straightening her shoulders, Agatha pulled out her wand and used the...she forgot what it was called. She knew what it did (got rid of the swelling and all that--she'd banged her forehead under her desk when trying to get her dog once and Smeth had jumped at the chance to heal her), and hopefully she didn't make another head spurt out.

"Is that better?"

This was much simpler then just waiting it out. Whenever Fredrick got cuts or bruises, he just suffered through it. No big deal. He'd helped a Muggle friend to a hospital once or twice. It felt so weird to feel the back of his head just healing quickly--he hadn't felt that sensation in quite a while.

"Yeah." He cleared his throat and ran his hand through the back of his hair experimentally. "I'm not going to wake up tomorrow and find my skin's turned purple or anything, right?" he continued to tease her.

"And what about that banana split, eh? I'll even settle for a chocolate-strawberry sundae at this point, Activist Aggie." A very sick part of him hoped that name annoyed her just so he could see if she ever did wrinkle her nose like his mind kept on imagining.

"Call me Aggie again and I'll make sure you don't any sprinkles," she said quickly with a twist of her lips, once again trying to hold back a laugh. All she managed to do was screw up her face in a ridiculous manner and--just. Stop. Being. So. Cute.

She couldn't ask him that, right? That would be weird, wouldn't it? Agatha wanted to tell him to stop having such a nice smile and a nice laugh and a good sense of humor because then she wouldn't get that awkward feeling in her chest and she wouldn't want to giggle like an idiot (or maybe even snort--oh God, she couldn't in front of--shush!).

"But---yeah, I mean," She shrugged, eyebrows going high. "I did just save your arse." Now she allowed herself to grin, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Aw, no sprinkles?" He pouted at her, steering them towards the Leaky Cauldron. Fredrick kept one of his hands firmly in his pocket, wrapped around his identification card. It was a small comfort. "Evil woman. That's just cruel."

He noticed the grin. It made his own bigger. He was starting to feel a little bit like a fool. What was this? The ninth? Tenth time he'd grinned since seeing her? He hated to think how many times it would have been if they hadn't run into that spot of trouble. "Are you implying that I owe you something...Aggie?"

Fredrick couldn't help himself. As the oldest and the only boy, he delighted in teasing girls (though Agatha was decidedly much different then teasing his sisters; make no mistake about that).

"And there goes your chocolate syrup!"

Agatha threw her hands up into the air, shaking her head. With a grin, of course. Always with the grin. Was it possible not to grin around him? Probably, as he seemed to be one to test limits, and she didn't exactly have the best of tempers, so---but now wasn't the time to think about future fights because she didn't know if there would be future fights and she shouldn't even be thinking of future fights and. Yes.

Time for ice cream.

She used her back to open the door to the Leaky Cauldron, partly to get ahead of Fredrick so he didn't hold the door for her like she was some damsel, and partly just so she could look up at him, face to face. She was so going to feminist hell.

"I think it at least deserves a free sundae," she said with an exaggerated shrug of her shoulders as they entered.

Fredrick followed her. Perhaps a bit too closely. His body was barely an inch away from her as she pushed her back into the door. She looked straight up at his face and Fredrick found himself staring at hers for a moment. He would have tried memorizing what it looked like, but he knew it was no use. Whenever he started a hard crush on a girl he could never remember exactly what her face looked like.

"Wha--look, if I'm buying the sundae," Fredrick said, "Then I should be able to have chocolate syrup too!"

Mm, all right. She wasn't worried about him not being interested anymore. Agatha kept her eyes locked on Fredrick's, keeping a coy smile twisted on her lips. Ah, yes. Now she did not have to worry about being pretty enough or smart enough or---whatever it was that made him look at her like that. At least, not try so hard, anymore. Agatha felt a wave of victory flush through her (and, predictably, this wave made her blush) and she continued in front of Fredrick (did she appreciate the fact that she was wearing form fitting bell bottoms? Oh. Yes.).

"Well," she said over her shoulder, "I suppose that makes sense. But for each 'Aggie' I get a spoonful. Deal?"

"Deal." Fredrick had always enjoyed girls with coy smiles and long eyelashes. A sneaky smile appeared on his face. "But everytime I make you blush, you lose a spoonful." He winked at her and raced towards the icecream parlor, intent on getting in a few good spoonfuls before her.
