She was in the middle of shrieking for her mother when Moses came into sight, and Miranda wasted no time in scrambling to her feet with much difficulty. The water and the forks and glass and everything made just moving difficult. The tears cascading out of her eyes hurt the situation as well, and Miranda had no idea how she actually made it across the kitchen to fling herself at her brother without falling and breaking her skull open.
"MOSES!" she choked out, her ability to shriek presumably gone. Pressing hard into her brother, now that she had managed the mission of getting to him, her mind shot back to why she was crying, and hysterical blubbering escaped her, knees feeling weak and all of that crazy dramatics you hear in the stories---Miranda had never thought she'd ever, ever have a reason to have her knees give out, or--or faint (because she did feel like that was close to happening now), but---but---
He'd promised her, he had promised her he would not do this to her ever again---"Moses!"
