Her smile faltered slightly once Mackenzie was finally able to look at him full on. See, all her extra worrying was not completely uncalled for and pointless. Evan did not seem fine like he had tried to somewhat play off earlier, and he most certainly did look especially miserable at that moment. At least even more miserable than he usually did. Mackenzie supressed a sigh as she slid through the doorway, clutching onto the book just a bit tighter.
"I can only stay for an hour or so. Studying calls to me if I stay away too long," she mused quietly, sending a look over her should as she walked. Mackenzie smiled again, as if subconsciously trying to get Evan to smile from all of her smiling. It had never worked, but there was always a first time for everyting.
"But I think that'll be okay, I'm not sure how long these pictures can actually keep you entertained anyway." Was it wrong that she actually felt bad for him? Whatever it was about; no doubt something either extremely stupid or extremely dangerous (she wasn't that stupid, she knew these boys well enough). And Mackenzie knew that, she did but, that didn't help her from feeling better about anything. Evan just looked so upset.
