It'd been a very long, very stressful week. Ashlyn was currently locked in the last compartment of the Hogwarts Express pacing and trying to sort out the school year in her mind; she'd
finally made the Quidditch team, she had a wonderful season at it too. She'd ruined two friendships, maybe more, but--well, despite that she finally figured out things with Sieffre. Merlin, she couldn't stop thinking about Sieffre (she was just lucky she'd managed to get through all her exams otherwise she would have to hurt him) and it'd been a long, long time since they'd actually
had time for each other. So there she sat, waiting for him to come back from the ridiculously long prefects meeting. She wanted to talk to Phoebe, wanted to get things off her chest before she just--exploded. If it was the end of the school year, why did she still feel like there was too much to do, just--wound up.
She slumped down in the chair with a sigh, trying to just let everything go and--bugger, it wasn't working.
The end of the year had been hectic and stressful, even without the pressure of OWLs that had loomed over his head the year before, or the NEWTs he would have to deal with next year. Between prefect duties and quidditch and revising for his examinations, Sieffre was more than ready for a break from Hogwarts. Besides, he finally had a girlfriend, after years of hiding his crush from Ashlyn, and he had barely had a chance to spend any time with her. He felt guilty, because he knew how hard things had been for her, with how the other girls treated her, and he knew he should have been there for her more. The worst part was that he knew she didn't blame him for it at all. He sighed. He really didn't deserve her.
He'd looked in every compartment for Ashlyn, wanting to talk to her on the train ride back, and just spend some time together, but he couldn't find her in any of them. Finally, he'd reached the very last compartment and found it locked. Knocking at the door, he sent up a silent prayer that it wasn't anyone shagging or something embarrassing like that. "Ash?" he asked hopefully. "Are you in there." He certainly hoped she was. She wasn't anywhere else on the train and she had to be somewhere.
Ashlyn jumped when she heard the knock at the door, but perked up as soon as she heard his voice. Finally! She pushed herself up off the seat to unlock and open the door. "Hey," she said, offering him the best smile she could muster up. "How'd the meeting go?" she asked casually as she leaned against the door frame. She held herself back from asking how his exams went, if the studying had helped any. They were done with school and she didn't want to think about those tests until August. She had the entire summer to focus on other things, better things. Possibly things that were currently standing in front of her and oh Merlin, she wanted to kiss him.
They hadn't kissed--well, in a good amount of time. Biting her lower lip, Ashlyn stuck her head out of the doorway and looked down the hall. No one was coming, everyone was snug in their compartments, no doubt gabbing about their summer plans and what they wanted to do with the rest of their lives (that or how brill of a party so-and-so would be throwing once the train got home...stupid Gryffindors). She grinned at Sieffre before reaching out and grabbing his tie and using it to pull him into the compartment, into a kiss. "I've missed you. And--and this," she murmured softly.
