Open to Friends!
Alice could now say she understood why people made such a fuss over weddings.

Well, no, not really---she would enjoy having the pictures with her friends, and dancing, but everything else was really unnecessary to her. Not that it was bad, no, no it was terribly fun to dress up and see everyone else dress up, but she had never been one to seek attention. And, really, that's all a wedding was, making sure everyone in the whole world knew that the bride and groom loved each other very much. Let's show you by wearing a big white dress and snazzy tuxedo!

No, no--they could just look back at the year Frank and Alice have had as a married couple, to understand what they meant to each other. Admittedly, it wasn't as stressed as some other's may have been, thankfully, but they still had made it. A lot of people don't even get to one year, and Alice was very, very proud of them.

Of course, their marriage might be over the moment Frank found out she helped a certain Slytherin sneak into their house last night, but Alice had faith in her husband; or, at least, she had faith in her ability to produce tears on the spot, and therefore confuse her husband into forgiving her.

Hey--to make a marriage work, you have to know how to survive.

With the party in full swing, Alice made her way through the crowd, thanking people for coming and accepting compliments and all the other things a bride-again was supposed to do. It was really nice, seeing all of her friends with happy, smiling faces, as it had been such a rough year. Maybe there was a reason for weddings afters all.

"Liz, stay." Ian firmed his hold on his fiancée and smirked down at her affectionately. Being a new father, he of course was feeling the pangs of separation in his first extended (extended being more than ten minutes) period of time away from his daughter just as badly as Liz was. But Katie was with his parents, who had been absolutely dying to get a second alone with their first grandchild, and after almost a week of basically no relaxation, they needed this too. So Ian had been batting off Liz's worrying--with some reluctance, Katie did get fussy when she---no, no--and continuing to keep her occupied to the best of his ability. "I'm sure my mother has dealt with plenty of fussing from babies between my sister and I."

They continued to sway back and forth on the dance floor, and he found that his hands unconsciously kept running up and down her sides. Her sides that were very not-large, like her stomach that was not-large, which had to be some kind of freak of nature thing, but Ian wasn't about to complain that she'd popped right back to her old form. Not that Liz hadn't looked fabulous while she was pregnant--she always looked fabulous--but damn. Ian really didn't have a lot of experience with pregnant women, but from those he'd known, he didn't recall any of them looking this much like their old selves five days after popping out a kid.

"So I guess this'll be us in just less than a month, won't it?"

She had been so ready to retort that Ian's parents didn't know how to take care of Katie, but that probably would not have gone over well. Right. Well. Ian seemed to trust these 'parents of his', so she should as well, yeah? Right.

UGH THIS WAS SO HARD.

What happened when Katie wanted to go to her first sleepover? Merlin's beard, Liz knew she'd have to go over and investigate the house, interrogate the parents, and then set up wards on the sleeping bags to make sure that no boys could get in. And what about when she--when she wanted to go to Hogwarts? Oh--oh fuck that, that girl was getting home schooled, there was no way she'd let her even get the chance to run around with hooligans like Black or---oh, wow.

Wow.

She was going insane. Mummy insane. Right. Let's stop talking about that.

Liz peered over at the married-again couple with a thoughtful expression that slowly tilted up into a smile, "I suppose it will be. With a lot less pink."

Except she did like the pink, but Liz was going for more of a blueish-not-super-romantic theme. Sure she knew she was going to cry and be hysterically happy at her own wedding, but the day was to have fun and just be bouncing around in joy, so. Lots of funky colors that weren't girly and romantic. Not that Ian had much say, so they probably were girly, but.

"Holy shit, my boobs are huge," she muttered, after trying to press closer to Ian and failing because of the two blimps that had exploded into size on her chest. Liz looked up with a grin; she was really rather liking her post-baby body.
