Dominic threw off the curse about ten seconds after she stopped moving, and cursed under his breath. He always had had a shoddy sense of restraint when he was angry, and now he wasn't even going to be able to see the fear on her face when he delivered the final curse.
Well, what was done was done, and there was nothing he could do about that. He did get a bit of consolation in knowing, however, that the woman must not have been as powerful as he thought if she had lost consciousness so easily. Or maybe he just didn't know his own strength. Either way, it didn't matter, because as the Avada poised itself on his lips, he knew that she would be dead in a few seconds anyway. He couldn't, of course, just let her live after having confronted her like this.
"Ava---" His spell was cut off as an explosion sounded beside him, causing him to have to cover his head and neck from the falling rubble around him. As the dust cleared he looked around, and found a rather tall man in auror robes pointing a wand at him.
Fucking hell, this night just was not going his way. Without a look back to the woman, but not without a lament for her continued life, he chased off after the Auror. Well, there was always hope mental incapacitation.
