He did not know this man, this man did not know him, and it was completely uncalled for to take that tone, to curse at him. No, Santiago had been a healer for far too long to simply simper and agree to the loud mouth relatives that came barging into his patients' rooms. It did not matter that Caden was much bigger than him, and could probably pop his head off with one swift swipe of his gigantic hands, but.
Santiago was the one in charge, and here, in this hospital, he was in his element.
His eyebrows rose at Caden before summoning Jolene's charts and a face mask over, turning back to the woman and now setting on completely ignoring her brother (but not before he dropped the mask in front of Caden, on a small table at the end of the bed). Calling her dumb was no way to speak to anyone (even if he did call his own sisters estupidas daily, pero--), and Santiago smiled nicely across the bed.
"Your fever seems to be plateauing, Miss. Flint, which is an indicator that it should begin to drop soon." He leaned forward over the end of the bed, as if telling Jolene a secret, "You can tell that to your brother, when he stops being rude."
He winked at her, a sly grin on his face, and then shut his charts. "I will see you in a few hours, okay?" he said, before turning. Santiago caught Caden's eye, and he gave the man a wink before exiting the room.
