Caden kept his eyes on the Healer who had just rattled on, giving him more information than he had asked. In all honesty, he was glad that this guy was the Chief Resident, but he wasn't about to let him know that. No, he would just raise a brow and stare down at the extended hand that he was expected to shake before making eye contact once again. His mouth opened to respond, but Jolene's voice cut him off. It was probably the only time he looked away from the healer, to glance at his sister as she struggled to speak. He ignored her words of warning, looking back to Santiago, pausing before he finally decided to speak again.
"I asked who you were, not what you do, because I think I'm smart enough to figure that much out. Your position here doesn't make a God damn difference to me, because you could run this bloody hospital, and be the best at what you do, but that's not going to earn you any respect on my end unless you make her better." Now he looked back to Jolene, moving around Santiago to go to her bed side, his eyes narrowing slightly. "And as for you, you're dumber than I thought if you really expected me not to show up. Come on, Jolene, you know me better than that."
