Darren Quigg : Ministry Maintenance ([info]hustlequigg) wrote in [info]valesco,
"No, Devon, they didn't have me," he retorted angrily.

He was aggravated that she would think that of him, that the other women - his clients - had actually made some sort of impression on him and further that she refused to understand how this had to work for him. His job and lifestyle were not traditional in any sense of the word. He couldn't afford to let the meaningless snogs bother him because that's precisely what they had to be: meaningless. Otherwise he would have been broken by the job years ago. Therefore, nights spent with Lydia were easily shrugged off. The mornings with Devon were the only ones that mattered in his eyes.

"No one has ever had me," his tone was firm and testy. "Ever." Darren closed his eyes and sighed as his palms wiped down the wall, coming to halt aside Devon's hips. He swallowed once and opened his gaze back on her face, now close enough that his nose barely grazed hers. "You really have no idea what you do to me," he finished quietly.
