She actually flinched as he admitted to using the drugs, but what really got to her was the fact that he was trying to deny that whatever happened with Lydia was okay.

"No, Darren..." She shook her head, pressing her back into the wall as though this helped her keep her distance. "You don't get to say 'she's just a friend' and make this all go better...because what you did with her? That isn't what just friends do. Just imagine you were in my position. For one fucking second, don't think about you. If you found out that I had made out with...-" she thought of the first guy that came to her mind, which also happened to be the one that could make the biggest impact. "-with Aland, and we were doing drugs that could fucking kill us, and I said it was alright because he was just a friend, would that mean nothing to you? Would you just fucking shrug it off and say it was fine because I told you that we were nothing more than 'just friends'?" she scoffed and shook her head once more, still not able to believe what was going on right now. But she really just couldn't keep looking at him when he was staring at her like that...
