Delilah needed to talk to Nora. Urgently and immediately about certain recent events. But doing so required actually pulling herself away from Matthew which she was finding incredibly hard to do. It wasn't really something she felt that she could just say in a quick sentence through her journal. Nora would most likely be furious if she had done that.

She thought that she would easily be able to meet up with her friend the next evening, figuring that Matt would be busying helping his brother move in. The muggle way of actually having to carry furniture and boxes (how dumb). But apparently Kendall was having a last minute birthday party that Matt wanted to go to and asked her along. She couldn't say no to spending more time with her boyfriend just so she could go gossip about him.

So instead, Delilah just begged Nora to come to the party. And after much wheedling and promising that she would not keep her out all night, she finally got her friend to agree to at least stop by the party. It may have also had something to do with the fact that she implied she had urgent news that could only be told in person and this was the most convenient and soonest available opportunity.

Delilah didn't let Nora take two steps into the backyard before she was at her side grabbing her hand. Luckily her boyfriend was busy enough talking to someone else, that chances were he might not notice that she was quickly running off with her best friend to gossip about the night before. She had spotted a nice secluded area earlier that she had contemplated using for snogging Matt, but had somehow managed to keep her mind at the task at hand. Pulling Nora along, Delilah wasted no time getting them away from the crowd.

"I slept with Matthew last night." Delilah confessed as soon as she was out of earshot of the rest of the party goers. "And I may have told him that I loved him." She was unable to keep any of it in, feeling all the information at once was better than drawing it out.
