Michal Conway Lynch Intervention
Seth had been meaning to ask Henry to be his best man for so long, he didn't even think twice about using The Tattler announcement as an opportunity. In hindsight, he probably should have spoken to Michal first. Now he wasn't responding to his owls, his floo calls, or even coming to the door. He needed to sort this out and quick. It was understandable his best friend his best friend was upset. There was a period of time Seth didn't speak to Henry. A long period of time. He couldn't exactly recall exactly, but there may had been a drunken conversation at some point where they spoke about being each other's best men. Seth was certain he laughed at that, certain he would never get married.

But he did once already, he eloped and told no one. So, clearly he had every right to be upset, but Seth couldn't admit he made the wrong choice. A lot had changed since those drunken nights. His brother pulled his life out of the drain. Turned him around. Seth would not be even getting married right now if it had not been for Henry. They had been through so much in the last two years. It couldn't be anyone else.

Michal didn't exactly make the decision difficult with his reaction to the news that he was engaged. He didn't know what else to do to alleviate this irrational fear that Michal had that he was suddenly abandoning him, and while making Henry best man didn't exactly help, he wasn't about to base his major life decisions around Michal's whimsy. He was though, going to get to the bottom of what ever was going on. Because amount of hostility Seth was getting, suggested there was more going on.

In fact, Michal had been in a funk for ages. And Seth tried to help, but there was only so much he could do when his friend shuts him down at every turn. Either way, he wasn't leaving today until Michal finally spilled where all this misdirected anger was coming from. Breaking into his house was easy. Though was it really breaking in if Michal's super kind, prettier and much smarter sister let him in? With a charming smile and a well placed bribe you could get anywhere. He placed the bottle of whiskey on the counter before starting to roam through his friends home. "Oi! I know your home, and I may have trapped you in here with some crafty spells, so you might as well come out and talk to me. Or not, I have all day, and it seems you have plenty of food for me to eat."

Seth stared at the ceiling, there was a time when the Great Hall ceiling was all his friend could talk about. Most of it, Seth tuned out because it was boring, but the determination was clear. He had never managed it though. Seth had just assumed that Michal had given up, or rather just forgotten about the whole thing moving on to other obsessions. Mainly quidditch. Quidditch had taken up so much of their lives.

The sad tone of Michal's confession shook Seth. Tearing his eyes from the ceiling he turned to look at Michal, suddenly feeling like he had some how failed his friend. "Hey," he said softly putting his hand on Michal's shoulder, hoping to gain his attention. He wanted to say it was just a dumb ceiling. A stupid complicated charm that didn't make you any better if you knew it or not. But this wasn't about the ceiling, and what ever it was about certainly wasn't dumb. "It's not too late, definitely far to early to be saying never. We'll add it to the list. What else have you got?"

Eyes closed, Michal fell in and out of consciousness. What else had he got? Oh, loads he still got. Too many loads, loads that had become too heavy to handle on his own. Right?

Well...

Pressing his own face further into the mattress, Michal let the free-flying feeling one experienced whilst being ridiculously drunk take over him. The stress between his eyes had stopped, like it always did, and his brain felt disconnected enough that it didn't quite feel like he had to think at all. And yet.... a frown formed on Michal's lips. Still, in this intoxicated state, he.... there were still memories, thoughts, emotions that permeated. Things Michal couldn't quite shake them, and they left hints of little footprints in his subconscious.

Little footprints?

His frown formed deeper.

"I did bad thing," Michal mumbled miserably. "Did a bad thing, wrong--- things, all the---" Despite his limbs feeling heavy, Michal still managed to raise his hand and slap it down onto his face to partially cover it. "Got--- too many bad things. Help with---" he pushed his palm into his head, rubbing it harder and harder into his temples with each passing moment. "Can't help with any of it."

Seth's frowned deepened as Michal spoke. He stared at him trying to process his words. This was not at all what he was expecting, and he was at a loss of what to do next. Whatever this was, it was big.

"I can try." Seth said earnestly. It was true, whatever it was, he was certain he would do what ever he could to help Michal. He had no idea what he had done, but he couldn't help but hope it wasn't as bad as he was making it sound right now. Michal was drunk, everything seemed like the end of the world when you were half a bottle of whiskey in.

"But I can't do anything if I don't know what's going on." He touched Michal's shoulder and waited until his friend looked over to him. How had he missed this? How had the fact that his best friend was completely floundering go unnoticed? As far as he was concerned, Michal had every right to be upset with him. "It's just me. You can tell me what's going on. We can figure this out, just talk to Michal."

His head was aching enough that it hurt to keep his eyes open longer than a few seconds at a time. What had Seth been saying? Wait--- Seth? Michal's upper brow burrowed, and he squinted through his heavy lids. He didn't want to talk to Seth how had Seth gotten in here? What, was he here to tell him--- he didn't care at all.

"No," Michal responded with a surprising amount of indigence in his voice for how truly drunk he was. Sparing one hand away from pressing into his face, Michal jerkily waved his hand toward Seth's body until it made contact. Briefly gathering a bit of fabric for support, he then began to roughly push at the body away from him. "No no no no no no no!" he repeated like a broken, monotoned record.

"Don't get to---" Michal struggled, sticking his chin out in the air. "Don't get---" His eyes finally closed. "Get---" Whatever part of Seth's body he had been pushing and hitting slowly began to miss its mark.

Mid-sentence, Michal nodded off, his words turning into indistinguishable grunts, whimpering noises, and then finally heavy breathing. He was tired, after all.
