Hogsmeade Valentine's Spectacular! Friday, the 14th
Now, Holly was definitely not someone who enjoyed the frills and lace of Valentine's Day. Usually, she hated it, it was in the top five list of things she hated, but this year? She felt like celebrating. It had been a damn good year, and Holly was taking every opportunity to showcase the good bloody mood she'd been in. Sure, there had been its blips (McCormack owed her quite some bit), and each moment made her appreciate each and every day.

But that was the sort of sappy stuff she and her husband didn't say, so that was why she had insisted that their visit to Hogsmeade tonight was to crack jokes and judge the couples that took this holiday way too seriously.

It was turning out to not be as horrendous as one may have thought. Hogsmeade was a village on display, each store front lit up with lights, the street lamps giving off sprays of glitter and confetti as couples walked past. The different food places had set up heating spells around outside tables and counters, the aroma completely filling her every sense. The lake had turned into a beautiful ice rink, while a magical ferris wheel lit up the sky. The village had always amazed her, knowing that it was the only place in the country wizards and witches could be completely at ease with their magic outside of Hogwarts.

"Good thing they didn't let the kiddies out," Holly said, eyes catching sight of the castle in the distance. "They'd ruin the romance."

- Hogsmeade is open to all! The village streets are sort of like a Valentine's fair, hosted by Madam Puddifoot's (so you know there's some cheesy stuff).
- For some ADDED FUN, a little trickster has laced the chocolate supply with a truth serum. The amount of chocolate your character ingests, the more truthful/the longer they are under its spell. Soo...that could lead to some fun, y/y? >:D
- ALSO, for players on non British Isles teams, this is the last weekend to be home because practice for the WC starts after Valentine's Day! So get those feels out because you're shipping out!

Holly had stopped walking, staring at her husband as if seeing him for the first time. Of course she knew how loveless an arranged marriage could be, but to hear him voice such disdain for the mother of his son---there were two people that had to create that child, and to think that..why had he even bothered to have a baby with Cordelia? Did the other woman care enough about him to deal with having sex with someone who obviously didn't care? Or was it just out of obligation? The thought sickened her.

"You can't just say something like that and expect me to not react," Holly said sharply, crossing her arms. "What, you only slept with her to make a baby? An heir---" She scoffed, shaking her head and looking away, "Were you lucky enough to do it in one shot or were you forced to---"

Throughout her years of struggling through Slytherin House, as a girl, as a halfblood, Holly had always felt the need to fight for her rights and beliefs. The women on the Harpies, her Arrows girls, they were constantly bombarded with situations that others didn't have to face. Thinking that her husband had been one of those men that had done things to live up to the pureblood standard---

--she felt stupid. She'd allowed Theo to keep his past to himself, because who was she to judge? She had her own demons, but she'd never done anything to live up to certain expectations.

"You can't even say you love Theodore now," she blurted, throwing a hand out, finding that his choice of words had really irked her. "'Adore'? What the hell, Theo?"

This is exactly why he didn't share his past. It shed a bad light on his character, not that it was a shining example in the first place. But what she was saying now, well she had it wrong. There were was a point that Theo drew a line.

He folded his arms across his chest and let his wife finish. "You are wrong." He said simply, anger simmering under his skin at the accusations. At the fact that this small fact came up and suddenly Holly couldn't love him anymore.

"The truth? I never wanted a child. I hid that fact from no one. It took all I had not to kick the pets she brought into the house out the door, why would I bring a child into that? To produce an heir? I had years to to that, and a brother that I was hoping to shove the responsibility onto. No child deserves a father who doesn't want it." If Holly was going to judge his decisions then she might as well know everything.

"Cordelia, on the other hand, desperately wanted a child, and while she wasn't very smart, she was good at getting what she wanted. I wasn't given much choice in the matter. Theodore was her child, and then she died." Theo hated this. He hated telling Holly these things because the decisions he made then would not be the ones he made now. Had it been her, not Cordelia-- He didn't know how to express the difference. He wasn't even sure his wife would see one.

He didn't know what else to say. Or even if Holly would believe him. He dropped his hands giving in, she would take what she wanted from this. "I was a different man then. One that has moments I'm not particularly proud of, but I have never lied to you, Holly. What I feel now, what I've told you, that is who I am. Theodore is my son, and with each passing day I appreciate him, love him more. It's my own loss that I started far behind where most parents do. Think what you will, but if we are going to continue to dredge up the past, I'd rather just skip to the part where you walk away."

Holly scoffed, "Walk away? Yes, Theo, that's precisely what I'm going to do after five minutes of conversation."

She rolled her eyes, arms crossing tightly once more. She didn't like this, she didn't like thinking that there were things about Theo that she didn't know. Important things. Holly couldn't understand what made him be so open with her tonight and she wasn't sure if she appreciated it or not. It had given her new insight about her husband, but was it insight she'd rather be ignorant about? It was unnerving, and his words kept ringing in her ears.

I was a different man then. One that has moments I'm not particularly proud of.

What did that mean? What else could he be talking about? Holly did not like this feeling, not at all, but it wasn't going to be settled in one night. Theo was obviously in a mood, revealing this information and then behaving as if she was going to ask for a divorce here on the spot. She let out a breath, dropping her hands.

"Let's just go get something to eat, all right? I don't know how many more of your deep dark secrets I can handle." She scowled at him, but it crept into a slightly (slightly) amused smirk. Should she be upset that there was more to find out about her husband? Wouldn't it be boring if she knew everything?

It depended on what 'everything' was, she supposed.

Theo froze, suddenly feeling a bit more trapped than he had moments before. Was that it? He admitted that he loathed his ex, that he hadn't wanted a son when Theo was born and Holly was just going to drop it. It felt like a trick.

She joked (at least he thought it was a joke) about the number of deep dark secrets she could handle in one night, but the words hit a bit too close to the mark for comfort. Never once had he thought about what would happen should Holly ever find out that he had been a Death Eater. What she would do if she learned the things he had done? It was nothing compared to not wanting to be a father or not loving the wife of an arranged marriage.

At her words Theo felt compelled to tell her now. Just tell her everything and be done with it. Clearly he was not as good with secrets as he use to be, and if it was going to come out, he’d rather just deal with it now. He opened his mouth to say tell he but he couldn’t find the words. Theo couldn’t bring himself to say anything because he honestly believed that was one thing Holly wouldn’t be able to accept. Not that he particularly would blame her.

He pulled her hand into his. “I am sorry,” he said kissing her knuckles. Theo had loved Holly more than he thought he was capable of loving. He wasn’t quite sure what he would do if he lost her. “I’m ruining the night. Where would you like to go?”
