Hogsmeade Valentine's Spectacular! Friday, the 14th
Now, Holly was definitely not someone who enjoyed the frills and lace of Valentine's Day. Usually, she hated it, it was in the top five list of things she hated, but this year? She felt like celebrating. It had been a damn good year, and Holly was taking every opportunity to showcase the good bloody mood she'd been in. Sure, there had been its blips (McCormack owed her quite some bit), and each moment made her appreciate each and every day.

But that was the sort of sappy stuff she and her husband didn't say, so that was why she had insisted that their visit to Hogsmeade tonight was to crack jokes and judge the couples that took this holiday way too seriously.

It was turning out to not be as horrendous as one may have thought. Hogsmeade was a village on display, each store front lit up with lights, the street lamps giving off sprays of glitter and confetti as couples walked past. The different food places had set up heating spells around outside tables and counters, the aroma completely filling her every sense. The lake had turned into a beautiful ice rink, while a magical ferris wheel lit up the sky. The village had always amazed her, knowing that it was the only place in the country wizards and witches could be completely at ease with their magic outside of Hogwarts.

"Good thing they didn't let the kiddies out," Holly said, eyes catching sight of the castle in the distance. "They'd ruin the romance."

- Hogsmeade is open to all! The village streets are sort of like a Valentine's fair, hosted by Madam Puddifoot's (so you know there's some cheesy stuff).
- For some ADDED FUN, a little trickster has laced the chocolate supply with a truth serum. The amount of chocolate your character ingests, the more truthful/the longer they are under its spell. Soo...that could lead to some fun, y/y? >:D
- ALSO, for players on non British Isles teams, this is the last weekend to be home because practice for the WC starts after Valentine's Day! So get those feels out because you're shipping out!

Savannah would have been lying if she said she hadn’t been looking forward to Valentine’s. She never really cared much for it when she was single, though that did seem to be the case with most females. This day, more so than any other day of the year, made her all the more aware of how incredibly single she was, and given her track record with men, Valentine’s usually involved a lot of liquor, General Tso’s, and all the girly ballads that she denied liking for the other 364 days of the year. This year, she had Seth; to say this was a much preferred way to spend her day was an understatement. She was so happy that they finally went public, despite all the mixed reactions they had gotten. Sam hadn’t been thrilled, of course, and there had been a few days of the silent treatment before they were able to talk about everything. He still wasn’t happy, and that was understandable; his opinion mattered to her of course, but her happiness mattered more than anything. Call it selfish, but the smile he put on her face was something that could not be ignored.

His sudden decision to stop walking didn’t register right away, and she took an extra step before back tracking to line up with him. She furrowed her brows a bit, curious as to what had put that child-like grin on his face, though when he showed her the ring she had to let out a light laugh.

“What will they think of next?” She mused, her fingers wrapping around his hand as he reached out for hers. She took the ring from him, twirling it in her fingers before his question made those denim blue orbs focus on those crystalline eyes of his. The question definitely struck a nerve somewhere, but she knew he hadn’t meant it to be a malicious question, so she smiled at him and focused on the memories that had existed long before all the bad ones had been created. “Your taste was much better back then,” she teased, looking down at the ring again. “If the last ring you gave me had been edible, I would have been embarrassed when you inevitably noticed the setting went missing.”

Seth chuckled directed their path towards a gazebo near the lake. "The first one was." Seth said thinking about the rushed proposal he had made so he could take Savannah with him to Montrose. They had been so happy then, Seth could only imagine where they would be now had he not left Puddlemere. "And if I remember correctly it took me far longer that it should have to replace it."

The Gazebo was more tastefully decorated than the rest of the town. Simply lit up with twinkling lights and a few flowers expertly placed. "Here," he said softly taking the ring from Savannah, "let me put it on for you."

Carefully sliding the ring onto the ring finger of her left hand, Seth could feel his heart beating in his chest. He had planned this surprise out so carefully, every detail for the last month. He smiled down at the ring on her hand. "What was it I said then?" he started, still looking at the candy ring. "Something like, 'Savannah I-can't-believe-I-didn't-even-know-your-middle-name Davies, will you take this candy ring as a sign of my love and affection for you?'" He laughed as he quoted himself. "And then something incredibly cheesy about being the candy lady to my candy man. I really didn't do it justice at all then, did I?"

He took a breath trying to calm his nerves. How many times had he gone over this, just to make sure he got it just right. Lifting her hand to kiss her knuckles, Seth covered her fingers as he held them in his own. "A proper proposal, Savannah Leanna, a proposal worthy of you requires a bit more effort. A beautiful setting, a long romantic speech, a ring worth more than a knut."

"Savannah, you are incredible. Just everything about you amazes me and just when I think it isn't possible to love you any more, you do something to prove me wrong. Everyday that you are with me is my new favorite day. People say it all the time, 'I can't imagine life without you', but I lived it. I know exactly what it is like to not have you in my life and I don't ever want to go back to that."

Seth shuffled his feet, kneeling down on knee, finally revealing what the charmed ring transfigured to when he had kissed her knuckles. "I can't wait another day without asking you, will you marry me? Marry me and let me spend the rest of my days repaying you for helping me be a better man."

Savannah didn’t know how that first ring had momentarily slipped her mind, seeing how it was that edible piece of jewelry that had changed her life forever. The ring she had been thinking about was embedded with beautiful sapphires, and had been left on a table in the foyer of their home, back when she was gathering the rest of her things to leave for good. Again, she tried to put all that behind her, still finding it hard to believe that he was able to make her feel her best and her worst. He really was her biggest weakness, though he knew that since she had told him as much.

Following him to the gazebo, she appreciated the sight opposed to the rather garish decorations that had been surrounding them as they passed by the shops. Following him inside, she tilted her head back as she gazed at the lights before he had her full attention, looking down at her hand as he slid the ring onto her finger. She swallowed thickly, memories flooding back to the last time she had worn any jewelry on that particular finger. She blinked, and then looked up at him as he repeated the same lines he had used to propose all those years ago. She couldn’t help but laugh, her other hand coming up to tuck some of her hair behind her ear.

“Yes, you were quite the wordsmith,” she said with a grin, though honestly at the time it was the most romantic thing she had ever heard. That was the first time he told her he loved her, and the first time she had said it back. She didn’t care that he had proposed with a candy ring, or that he had used a terrible line to ask her to marry him. She loved him more than she had ever loved anyone before.

As he stalled, Savannah’s expression mirrored her curiosity. He looked…nervous, and as he continued to talk, she felt her own heart pick up speed in her chest. She blinked as he strung together all the right words, saying all the things that she had waited so long to hear. And then he lowered himself down onto one knee, allowing her to see the new ring she was wearing. She gasped, her other hand lifting up to cover her mouth, a knot in her throat as her eyes began to bead up with moisture. He had completely caught her off guard, and she was feeling so many emotions at once. She swallowed thickly around the knot in her throat, dropping her hand away from her mouth, her head nodding.

“I will…” she answered, a tear streaming down her cheek before she let out a short laugh at herself, her other hand coming up to wipe it away. “Just…promise me we’ll do it right this time? Please promise me that?” She was practically pleading with him; she couldn’t just dive into things like last time. She wanted a ceremony, and she wanted to be surrounded by family and friends; whether or not they would show up to support their marriage after how their last one had ended, she wasn’t sure, but there was no denying that this man who was kneeling before her was the love of her life. She had known it for a long time, and that was what made everything else hurt as badly as it had.

Seth didn't think he had experience a longer moment in his life than the time between when Savannah gasping and started nodding her head. He was sure he hadn't even taken a breath, he had no idea what he would do if she said no. Would that mean it was over? Or just not now? What would the point be if-- his rambling thoughts froze as she started to nod, But there was a tear. Seth didn't move, didn't breathe, not until he was sure that nod was a yes.

"Of course. Whatever you want, its yours." He was on his feet and pulling her into his arms so fast, he could hardly remember being on his knee. "A wedding, a party, the nicest venue in England. Everything." Seth kissed her soundly, never wanting to let any of it. This had to be the happiest he had felt in years. Maybe ever. Of course there was still other things to deal with, but all of it could wait. Right now he was sure he'd never stop smiling.

He held his hand up flat against hers admiring the ring on her finger. "It was my grandmother's." He said after a moment. "I-- I couldn't find a ring that was right, you know, considering everything. But this one, this I thought would be perfect. Instead of starting 'new', I figured it would be nice to build on something that already had a good start."

Savannah could live without all the bells and whistles that came along with being married – hell, she had done it before – but she needed to be married in front of her friends and family, and she needed to make it count this time. She didn’t want them to rush into things like they had last time, when they were on a time schedule and there were laws against her moving out of the country because of her bloodline. The man standing before her made her do some pretty out of character things, like spontaneously get married and let her feelings get the better of her when she was usually so levelheaded about things. If she was on the outside of her own life looking in, this would probably be the point where she would yell about all the reasons why she shouldn’t have said yes. There were definitely reasons – good reasons, too. But she had spent the last 6 months with him, and she had seen just how much he had changed. She had seen how much he had grown as a person; as a man.

Their first marriage seemed like a lifetime ago. They had both been different people back then, changed by time and circumstance. The universe seemed to have some sort of plan for the two of them, seeing how they had ended up back in each other’s arms against all odds. She had always loved him, and she could see it in his eyes, and feel it in his touch just how much he loved her. He had loved her back then too – she was sure of it, despite everything - but it wasn’t the same. This was stronger. It was pure.

Wiping at her face again with her other hand, she sniffed as he explained that the ring had belonged to his grandmother. Standing with him that day at Falcon’s stadium made it obvious just how much he admired the woman, so to be wearing her ring her ring was a big deal.

“It is perfect,” she agreed, moving her hands to place them on either side of his face, staring into those unbelievably blue eyes. “I love it. And I love you…” Her hands slid down so that her fingertips were pressing against his jaw as she leaned in, kissing him once – twice – three times for good measure before she pulled away to look up at him, a smile back on her face. Her line of vision fell away from those diamond eyes to the actual glimmering stones that were on her finger.

“God, I could stare at this for days. It’s even prettier than you, and that’s no easy feat,” she said with another grin, her arms wrapping around his neck. “I can honestly say this has been the Valentine’s Day ever, bar none.”
