Ahh, there she was. "Hello, ma belle amie."
Miles tilted his head toward Mira, not bothering to hide his amusement. This Arrows Affair was not as miserable of an evening as he had been expecting it to be, but it may only be because the Pride's management had avoided his gaze in a humiliating fashion all night. Who would have thought that trading away your former captain, fan favorite, and head beater could turn a season around in such a dismal manner? To only place higher than the Cannons meant that you may as well have been ranked thirteenth, and the Pride knew that very well.
It pleased him that they did.
He did however feel for his teammates, and secretly wished for them all to come to the Magpies and recreate their glory days. But those thoughts for when the pre-season was in sight, and the only thing Miles had any intention of keeping his eye on was one Mira Jasper. No matter their time apart (or the people in between them), they seemed to always come full circle and back around. Miles made a show of looking over her shoulder and out to the dance floor.
"Who is it that I shall steal you from tonight?" he asked, only partially teasing.
