With a sweet smile,
Glenda looked up at Vinny. He had been charmingly wonderful with Tristan tonight, all week for that matter, and so for that she couldn't help but feel incredibly
happy. Happy to have Vinny with her, happy that he and Tristan got along so well, and
happy that it felt like her life wasn't spiraling so darkly and so severely as it once had been.
She had even decided to dress
up this year, surely that was a sign of improvement! And she had been excited about it as well, despite not knowing exactly what she was, just that she had thought the leaves were so beautifully autumn that she had to wear them. It was a start.
His arm laid easily on her shoulders, and Glenda reached up to grasp one of his resting hand. Interweaving her fingers through his, she enjoyed how warm his skin felt on hers before letting her face pop in surprised.
"If you scream?" she asked, feeling incredulous. Surely he knew how ridiculous she could be about when it came to surprises. "You'll be too busy laughing at how high-pitched my shrieks are to do that!"
A charmed laugh escaped her lips, and Glenda stopped walking to turn and press her body, her face into the side of Vinny's chest in the crook of his shoulder. She smiled still, musing a thought that would probably only half turn up to be true.
"I can just see the Tattler cover now." She poked her head up to prop her chin against his chest. "
Screams heard from Galvin Gudgeon and Glenda Chittock in the maze
all night long."
