Halloween just isn't their thing is it?
Rose let out a long breath, her brow furrowing in
slight worry. Only
slight worry was necessary, for she was only
slightly lost. Or, more accurately,
slightly separated from Kendall, because he had been just in front of her moments ago.
Well, more like fifteen minutes ago. But she had stayed put, thinking maze logic would eventually lead Kendall to back to her. That thought wasn't working very well, was it? Another, tired, sigh escaped her as it was quickly becoming clear Rose was now on her own.
At least the maze had proved to be relatively harmless thus far. Plus, she was the goddess of wisdom, wasn't she? With her shield, her mind, and her loyal owl perched on her shoulder, she would undoubtably make it out of here unscathed. Rose felt quite confident about this assumption, and even still after she ran out of treats and her owl decided to leave her for better dining options. She couldn't blame him, it was prime hunting tonight.
Rounding a corner, the sight before her evoked a sigh of relief within Rose. "Thomas!" she let out easily, recognizing the robes of that disbanded quidditch team he had dressed up in. She hadn't know he was exploring the maze as well, and as she reached to touch his back, she thought of asking how long he had been in here, or if he had seen anyone else (she had seen no one for quite a while)--
Rose's voice caught in her throat as her gaze met a pair of misted eyes settled in a gaunt face. This wasn't-- it was--- a tight fear immediately clenched her insides so deeply that her feet felt hexed to the ground.
Inferi Thomas was an---
Her heart sputtered, full of confusion and terror. How-- but--- her worst fear, her
deepest fear--- the dead-looking Thomas lunged at her, swiping toward her free arm. A blood-curdling scream escaped her lips before she had time to think much further, and eyes full of tears she stumbled back. More inferi were collecting now, more faces she recognized, or at least it appeared to be that way, and too paralyzed with fear Rose felt unable to reach for her wand, let alone do much else but continue to trip backwards.
