Adrian!
Maggie had no idea what time it was, just that the sky held the strange coloring that made it hard to tell if it was more morning or night. The balcony that lead out from their bedroom was one secluded by the trees in their backyard and the wards kept any high-climbing photographers out of the branches.

She had known about Geoff's gambling problem. She had known for a long time. And she had helped him in the past, but---the guilt of her decision to not just pay off his debtors, that...she had tried to get in contact with him before this all blew up in his face, she had---if she and Adrian had given them the money, maybe it would've been solved...or maybe they would've kept getting their doors pounded, maybe Geoff would've just kept getting further and further in trouble.

It didn't matter now. Maggie angrily brushed some tears away and she dug herself deeper into her chair. The quilt she'd dragged out onto the balcony was not keeping her warm, but she pulled it over her head, feeling embarrassed because she was crying. It all seemed so ridiculous.

Adrian rubbed his eyes tiredly, and not having slept very well during the night, rolled groggily in bed. All of this business with Geoff had Maggie worried sick, which then led him to feeling worried about/for her, which then led.... apparently to his wife having never come to bed. He frowned, and sat up. Or perhaps she was just up early making breakfast. Or maybe the baby...

A bit of peering around cleared up Adrian's confusion. His wife had not in fact seemingly left her post out on the balcony all night, which deeply unsettled him. He should have realized that without a bit of coaxing Maggie would have stayed out there for too long; too much was going on with her brother for her to feel not perturbed. Adrian's frown deepened.

Siblings.

After some quick thinking, Adrian carefully slid open the door, balancing a freshly brewed cup of tea in his hands. It wasn't until he looked up from his feet (to ensure the drink would not get spilled in travel), that he noticed Maggie his wife was sitting with her blanket over her head.

"Maggie?" he squawked, now juggling the mug in his hands. Why, exactly, hadn't he just levitated it over with magic? It was back over at the bedside table... Adrian cursed himself for being so careless, directly resulting in some mildly scalded fingers.

"Fodasse!" Adrian began to hiss under his breath, jumping slightly to move his bare feet away from the spilling drink. "Maggie," he whimpered, wishing very much for some help, or at least for her to pull the blanket off of her head.

The blanket slipped off her head at the sound of her injured husband. Maggie blanched at the sight of Adrian burning himself, and she quickly swiped up her wand from the nearby table. "Wingardium leviosa."

She let out a breath as the mug tugged itself out of Adrian's hands and hovered in a teasing manner just out of arms reach. Maggie smiled softly at her husband, finding it from deep within her agitated state to feel grateful for his gesture, no matter how fumbled it may have been. Through all the hardships they'd been put through, Adrian always seemed to have this endless sense of optimism and perseverance. Perhaps he was better at hiding his doubts and insecurities than Maggie, who let herself slowly burn into a delicate explosive, ready to burst at the slightest touch. Maggie hated that feeling.

"Are you okay?" she asked, standing and letting the blanket slide off of her shoulders and to the floor. A great chill came across her in the morning breeze, but she barely reacted as she crossed over to Adrian. Her wand quickly cleaned up the mess of tea on the floor, and Maggie took his hands into hers. "Are you burnt?"
