Posted for this Friday!

It had been a long, long year for St. Mungo's.

Mark stood with a long flute of champagne in one hand, taking slow, deep breaths. The rearing of the ugly virus' head had given the year a bad, bad start, but here they were. Lives had been lost, but so many had been saved. Mark felt bittersweet about celebrating the year, but he knew events like this needed to be held to keep the hospital running. The donations were used to buy new supplies, potion remedies, and to provide for better training for their healers. Everything was being spun into a positive manner, Mark just wished that it didn't have to be such a lavish event to do so.

"Do you think it's too much?" he said to his wife, looking down at Hannah with a worried smirk. If anything, the night provided a reason for his wife to doll herself and look even more fantastic than she normally did. They deserved a night out, especially now that their trio of children was complete.

Gleny!

Vinny had never not enjoyed a party. Growing up in Hufflepuff, it seemed like there was a reason for a party every weekend, sometimes more than once a week! Hufflepuffs celebrated life, no matter if you were the best student or the worst, if you were the fastest flyer or the slowest. Vinny had lost his Hufflepuff optimism for a long time after Marlie's death, but as he watched Gleny approach him from her brief escape to mingle with some co-workers, he felt the familiar warmth the mere sight of her always brought him.

"Made your rounds?" he asked, taking his hands out of his pockets to rest lightly on Gleny's waist.

An event like this was one that Vinny could truly appreciate. This hospital always did their best for the wizarding community and it had been hit hard this past year. If having a big party could get people to pour a ridiculous amount of money into the hospital, then he'd deal with the tight shoes and the lousy music.

Plus, any time he got to see Gleny dolled up like a million galleons was a good time for him.

She pressed her lips together and smiled. Rounds were important, it was important to say hello to her coworkers, chat with former and potential talk show guests, just generally be... attentive and friendly. Being so wasn't as taxing as it had once been, and for that, Glenda smiled. She had forgotten how much she enjoyed parties.

Perhaps a bit of her smile was also credited to her incredibly handsome and supportive boyfriend as well. Her smile widened as he lay his hands on her waist, and Glenda reached up to rest her own on his shoulders on either side of Vinny's neck.

"Yes," she nodded, tilting her head slightly as she looked up at him. "For now," Glenda added, in a rather teasing tone. "You'll have me all to yourself for a whole..." she pretended to look at the invisible watch on her wrist, ".... twenty minutes!"

Her face popped in mock surprise. "What will you do with me?"

She should not have given him the opportunity to decide how their time should be spent. Vinny wished to whisk Gleny away, back home to have his way with her as they had Tristan's sitter for a few more hours. With the quidditch season and Gleny being at the top of her game, it was hard to find moments of being alone. Not that he didn't appreciate the family time, he did, it was something he'd wanted for a long, long time, but with a girlfriend as wonderful and beautiful as Gleny...could anyone really blame him for wanting to be selfish once in a while?

"Well," he said, pulling her close, almost inappropriately so. Vinny leaned close, lowering his voice, "Since I can't properly do what I'd like to do with you in twenty minutes, I suppose some dancing will suffice."

Vinny grinned, eyes lighting up as the music changed to something faster. The dance floor was filling up and it would give the two of them enough cover to be as sickeningly attracted to each other as they so desired.
