SETH!
This was a bad idea. This was a terrible, horrible idea, being out in public like this. She couldn't remember the last time she had been to a social event like this without a date, but she knew that some of her colleagues were going. She also knew that it was for a really good cause, and after separate conversations with Carys and Giada, she had convinced herself that this was going to be okay. She was going to get dressed up, she was going to go stag to the ball, and she was going to mingle and enjoy herself....but this was before she actually had to go. Giada had thankfully helped get her ready, treating her like a doll because she had to live vicariously through Savannah who could still fit in some of the form fitting gowns she had tried on. By the time she was done, the blonde had started tearing up because of how she looked once her hair and makeup had been finished.

It would take another 20 minutes of Giada trying to talk Savannah into going before she finally agreed to go. She kept arguing that she didn't want to go if she might run into Geoff, or any of his other team mates. It was awkward enough, having her best friend play for the same team, meaning she couldn't even go to one of her games without seeing him. It was terrible, and she was still hurting, but she knew at some point she just needed to pull herself together.

When she first arrived, she looked around for a familiar face so that she wasn't the pathetic loser sitting by herself at the table. If this were a less formal event, she probably wouldn't have felt so awkward, but there were couples all around her. It was like going to a damn wedding without even knowing who the bride and groom were. She immediately regretted her decision to come, but again, she knew that she would probably seem more pathetic if she didn't go. Really, what else was she going to do? Sit home and eat Chinese food in front of the telly?

Making her way towards the bar, Savannah shifted her clutch from one hand to the next before settling it down on the counter top. She might as well get a drink if she was going to have to spend the entire night being anxious about running into her ex.

"A glass of chardonnay, please?"
