Ethan!
"Oh come on, just five minutes." Delilah whined from her position lying on the floor. Her and Ethan had been practicing for the last few hours without a break and she was exhausted. Why she ever agreed to train with someone more stubborn that she was, she would never know. All she wanted to do right now was nap. Or possibly eat something fried. Which apparently she wasn't allowed to do anymore because they were training.

She refused to admit she was out of shape after the virus and being hurt. But yet she was still staring at the ceiling trying to convince Ethan Jordan that a break was necessary. Ethan Jordan who hadn't dueled in ages had her winded again and now she remembered why she once hated him. They were rivals once for a reason.

She use to have no problem practicing hours on end, but now her ankle was starting to twinge, not that she would ever admit that either. It was hard enough asking for a break. "Five minutes, and then I'll stop taking it easy on you."

Ethan wiped the sweat off his forehead with a small towel as he stared down at Delilah's lying, exhausted form. His lips were pressed together in a disapproving manner, but he sighed and gave a nod. "Ten minutes."

He didn't even want to give her that, but he knew that if he wanted Delilah to keep training with him, he couldn't be a complete dick about it all. His spell knowledge was vast and still expanding, but dueling once in a while to get rid of some ancient giant snakes was nothing compared to a rapid volley of an actual duel, so he needed this training if he wanted to get back on the circuit.

Which he did. It was a rather recent decision, but with both Nico and Larkin gone from Mungo's and Samantha up in the North Pole, Gringotts had lost its thrill. They'd been wary about sending him out of the country because of his rather poor track record of making it out of these foreign locations by the skin of his teeth, so the filing of paperwork and reports had begun to suck away at the adventurous side of the curse-breaker career.

When Larkin and Nico took off on their wild ride to Brazil, it had occurred to Ethan that he didn't have to sit around and do as he was told. He of course needed a job to pay his rent, so by day he was a Gringotts desk jockey, but by night he was furiously training to hone his dueling skills again.

The training area was one Delilah often frequented and even though he wasn't very vocal about it, Ethan was grateful that she'd accepted his request. It had taken a lot of subduing of his ego to ask her to help him, but seeing as he'd always attempted to make her his enemy and she'd never quite accepted the role, Ethan knew she'd be more than willing to get him back in shape.

"I'm still concerned about my footing," he grumbled, dropping to sit cross-legged beside Delilah. "I feel like I'm doing everything backwards."

“You are doing everything backwards.” Delilah said automatically. She wasn’t trying to be harsh but it was true. You couldn’t just flip your wand into your other hand and be done with it. Their was technique. Every so often she would catch his stance reverting back to as if he was dueling right handed. It made complete sense, Delilah was certain during whatever sort of rehab Ethan had to go through, they were more focused on him being able to function with his left hand alone. Who would expect him to try dueling again and also think about trying to retrain his footing.

“But that’s not a bad thing.” She propped herself up on her elbows to look over to Ethan. Flitwick would probably cringe over her next words, because maintain a good stance was so beyond basic but, “The key is turning your disadvantages into advanatages. You can either spend the extra effort on fixing your stance to match the fact you are now left handed, or you can just leave it. You are using to much concentration right now trying to make it work.”

She shrugged her shoulders, turning her attention back to the ceiling. “Half the points you got against me were because I was to focused on how amature you looked. And then I was expecting the spells from a different angle. I think you should just work on being a left handed dueler with a right handed stance. Its unconventional, but we are a bit past convention, aren’t we?”
