He did not know many people at this Slughorn affair, nor did many know him, leaving Ollie little to occupy his time with at this festivity. He didn't mind it, however, as he could say he wasn't in the most social of moods, a side effect of always feeling a bit out of place at these Slugclub parties. To no one's surprise, Slughorn had jumped at the opportunity to become the center of attention for one night during this Hogwarts/Quidditch weekend, and as he pulled a cigarette out of the pocket of his dress robes, Ollie couldn't help but wonder what exactly had possessed him to accept this invitation in the first place.

It wasn't as if he and Slughorn had kept in touch over the years, though perhaps that had been a bit one sided on the old Professor's part-- within two weeks of Ollie's return to England the invite for this party had arrived in the post... and he wasn't playing this weekend either (again, something he found that did bother him- he had only truly played for his house for a year), so why drag him of all wizards out to show off to a bunch of teenagers? It didn't exactly make sense, but out of sentiment sake Ollie had accepted the invitation and here he was.

Having thought better and moved into one of the quieter side rooms off the main party area, Ollie had been in the process of inhaling his cigarette when the door behind him swung open. In one swift motion he tossed the cigarette in his hands to the ground and turned with his hands behind his back, intent on making it look like he had merely been inspecting the various books on the wall in front of him. But the tentative plan of hiding his bad habit quickly lost all merit, as the neutral look on his face became void of all neutrality upon realizing who had just walked into the room.

He did not say anything, as he didn't know what to say to her, and instead of averting his gaze like he knew he should have, Ollie's eyes locked on Nona Pepper's face guiltily.
