ARISTA SYKES
To say things had been a bit turbulent in the past couple months would be... a melodramatic, but accurate, description of his life if Michal stopped in the current to think about it. He didn't, though (stop to think about it), because he had done so once earlier two weeks ago and found that it quite felt like everything was getting a bit out of his grasp of control, and with little idea about how to exactly stop that feeling, decided to linger on it no further. Which, of course, left him feeling off-kilter, because when your life felt a little bit out of control, what did you focus on? What was there to do? How to effectively avoid the growing nagging feeling from within?
Focus on butting into other's lives, obviously. Well--- delicately. Michal had learned his lesson the hard way concerning that, as Larkin had pounded that teaching opportunity herself into his brain at Mungo's last week. All his avoiding of her had been for naught; the second he'd entered the waiting room (thank you Psyke), she'd embarked upon the task of breaking his fingers one by one for his 'act of freedom' upon her in Jordan. Happy to report she did not manage to make it through the whole hand, but definitely humbled, Michal resolved then to be a bit more discreet in his... investments in his friends.
Also, Wendy had made him promise to start behaving properly.
So, had it gone undetected that the Arista Sykes, a begrudging (by the look of her face) fellow party-goer located a few feet before him, seemed to be one of the few people close to this illusive being otherwise known as Howell's not-so-secret girlfriend? No, not exactly. It was purely coincidental, if anyone ever asked. Was he not allowed to converse with others at a social gathering such as this?
It was a poor sign that he was already defending his actions to himself before even doing them, wasn't it? Yes, probably. But he was already in the act of producing himself infront of Arista, and therefore had no time to think further on the matter.
"Arista Sykes." Michal saddling up next to her, a fully amused expression playing on his face. "Have you forgotten you are currently attending a party?"
