OPEN HOSPITAL THREADS
He blinked up at the ceiling of the hospital room, arms lifted over his head as the nurse examined his slowly healing wound. She was making some idle chatter about how good it was looking, and how he'd regained so much color back in his cheeks, and just how strong he was! Thomas rolled his eyes in plain sight of the woman, and he was glad that she'd taken slight offense to it and opted to finish tidying up his bandages and pulling his shirt back down. Thomas' crossed his arms over his chest as soon as the examination was done and rolled to his side, away from the open doorway.

As much as he was physically feeling better, he was still mentally exhausted. His parents had been hovering nonstop, his sister had managed to release a statement about how she was doing, and the long nights alone had let his thoughts wander, and wander, and wander.

A knock on the door startled him before his thoughts could trail off like they had been, and he peered over his shoulder to tell the nurse to leave him be, but was surprised to see that it wasn't the handsy nurse, or his parents. He turned over completely and gingerly pushed himself up on his elbows.

"Hey," he said, surprised.

Saoirse likened herself into believing that it was her incessant inquiring of 'When can I see people?' (because they all knew that her family wasn't showing up anytime soon) was what had finally broke down her Healer's seemingly strict visitor policy. It wasn't fair, really, and made little sense because she was fine to begin with, and didn't exactly understand why Mungo's was keeping her here for so long. They kept alluding to 'lingering effects' and 'mental health,' not to mention physical safety (it appeared that the Ministry had finally taken some interest in her and Thomas), but she felt... fine. Truly, and honestly, fine for what she and Thomas had gone through.

Perhaps it was that everything hadn't set in yet, or even more hopefully, it had and all smacked of finality enough that her mind had found peace. But regardless, Saoirse didn't dwell on it, and simply focused her attention on waiting for that moment when someone other than one of her Healers walked through that door. But it was a patient wait, so she had been forced to occupy her time otherwise.

She had just finished securing herself down into a comfortable position against the small mountain of pillows at the head of her bed when the door opened. All thoughts of taking a nap left her, and Saoirse shot up to meet this new face. She blinked, blankly, for a moment, apparently having been so focused on getting to this moment that she hadn't much thought about how to react after the fact. She pressed her hands into her sheets, and ducked her chin to her chest sheepishly.

ooc: so apparently Thomas and Saoirse are popular people and instead of flooding the comm with a million threads, Emma came up with the idea of a 'group' post of sorts where the two can have various threads with whoever wants to visit.

Saoirse!

There were quite a few things going through Louis' mind, first and foremost that he did not belong here, as a person waiting to see Saoirse Mullet. They were friendly, yes, he was concerned about her well-being, absolutely, but. Hospital visits always seemed rather personal, especially when it was just yourself and the patient. He didn't think she'd appreciate hearing how concerned he'd been for her, but he had another, more important to be here than simply making sure with his own eyes that Saoirse was fine.

"Sorry to---interrupt," Louis said from the door, feeling rather foolish standing there with flowers in his hand. There hadn't been any time to chose a gift carefully as he'd basically been bum-rushed from his sister's flat. He put the flowers behind his back and stepped forward, his free hand going out to Saoirse, "You look well, I'm---glad to see that!"

Oh, hell. Louis swallowed deeply and came forward a bit, "Are you up for visitors? I can leave, I---I can leave you alone if you wish."

Though, he really couldn't, as he had a message from a particular family member of Saoirse's that Louis had not known to be a family member of hers until she had gone missing, and was now playing messenger for said family member. It was all very confusing and Louis would rather not be in the middle of things, but--he owed it to his friends. "Would you like me to leave?"

Saoirse couldn't help but feel like she was missing something upon the appearance of Louis Bonaccord in her hospital room. What was he... her brow rose in genuine surprise as he walked in, and any sense of confusion within her was quickly pushed aside by her sheer... astonishment? Shock? No, just simple surprise. She had never thought, nor assumed that he thought, or cared, for her enough to constitute a visit like this, here.

And with flowers? Her eyes tightened as she caught a sight of them briefly behind his back, but chose not to react to them any further than that. Perhaps he felt poorly concerning the now apparently attention-worthy story surrounding her and Thomas, and felt... sympathy? Saoirse pushed her palms down on the mattress, shifting herself up into a proper sitting position. That sounded asinine, even within the confines of her own mind.

It was, most likely, and more honestly, just another recognition of how differently they had viewed their acquaintanceship over the years. Friendship? Saoirse frowned, finding even now it was difficult to discern between the subtle competitiveness Slughorn had driven between them.

Had something happened to Professor Slughorn? Saoirse shook her head, feeling herself sit at much more attentiveness than before.

"You came to see me," she said slowly, pointedly, thinking that if he didn't want to be here, then he shouldn't have come, no matter what obligation he felt was hanging over him.

"I did," he said with a nod, knowing that this would have gone over much more smoothly if he had joined a group of visitors than simply strolling in on his own. He believed Saoirse to be a friend, whether that be because he had so scare of an amount of people he could call that or because he honestly felt that way was still undecided. In any case, he was glad that she had been returned safely, and had not been surprised that she and McCormack had managed to escape on their own.

Louis had subconsciously managed to move himself closer to Saoirse, and by this point it was more than obvious that he was hiding flowers behind his back. His sheepish grin was accompanied by a clearing of his throat and he handed her the flowers, hoping that they weren't too bland, plain, or boring. "For you."

That wasn't all that he had for her, but how could one possibly casually bring up the fact that her estranged brother was actually one of their good friends? Louis had not made the connection that Ronan Mullet was indeed Saoirse's muggle brother because outside of the fact of the stark blonde hair they both possessed, they lived two vastly different lives. Louis had only even met the bloke after inserting himself into a muggle summer session course a few years back. Mullet was a popular Irish last name, wasn't it?

"This may sound strange," Louis said, unsure what to do with his hands now that they were free. He scratched the back of his head and looked about the room before he finally landed on Saoirse again. "But---a little while back, I didn't know at the time, but I befriended your---brother. Ronan."

He nearly wanted to wince, ready for a strike of something from the girl, but Louis continued quickly, "And he's quite concerned about you and wishes to meet up. He just very recently informed me he'd figured out I was magical. You Mullets are observant, it seems."

Saoirse had been in the midst of inspecting these flowers with the best casually meticulous gaze and grip she had when Louis uttered a name she quite thought she would never hear out of anyone else's mouth but her own. Ronan? She stopped pushing around the individual flowers in the bouquet to look up at Louis intensely. Her twin brother, and Louis Bonaccord. A startlingly unaccepting muggle and a pureblood Slytherin.... she wasn't quite sure what to focus on more; how absurd it was that they were friends, or, that it was within the realm of her life that this had happened.

But, there was really no time to dwell on this new connection, because a more important, more significant piece of news was brought to attention that distracted all else from her thoughts. Not only had Ronan... he was quite concerned? Her brow furrowed as Saoirse dropped her hard gaze away from Louis for a moment.

How would he even... she supposed that wasn't a fair question, for despite not having talked to her twin in over two years, she knew his double major and which dormitory he was currently living in. So... Saoirse placed the flowers on the side of her bed, no longer wishing to be holding something in her hands. Instead, she kept a stoic face and straightened her back as she internally worked over all the questions, demands, and inklings to appear as unsettled as possible.

Her twin's interest in her changed nothing, over what had happened through all these years. Why should a mishap concerning her life deter him from his true feelings about her? It was merely a lapse, a weakness in a fault of how he felt, and she truly did not have it within her to go through being pushed away from him again because of who she was. Deciding upon this, and holding onto it, Saoirse brought her gaze back up to Louis to produce a steely response.

"You can tell him I do not want to see him," she said plainly, little emotion having broke out onto her face through her quiet pause before finally responding to him.
