OPEN HOSPITAL THREADS
He blinked up at the ceiling of the hospital room, arms lifted over his head as the nurse examined his slowly healing wound. She was making some idle chatter about how good it was looking, and how he'd regained so much color back in his cheeks, and just how strong he was! Thomas rolled his eyes in plain sight of the woman, and he was glad that she'd taken slight offense to it and opted to finish tidying up his bandages and pulling his shirt back down. Thomas' crossed his arms over his chest as soon as the examination was done and rolled to his side, away from the open doorway.

As much as he was physically feeling better, he was still mentally exhausted. His parents had been hovering nonstop, his sister had managed to release a statement about how she was doing, and the long nights alone had let his thoughts wander, and wander, and wander.

A knock on the door startled him before his thoughts could trail off like they had been, and he peered over his shoulder to tell the nurse to leave him be, but was surprised to see that it wasn't the handsy nurse, or his parents. He turned over completely and gingerly pushed himself up on his elbows.

"Hey," he said, surprised.

Saoirse likened herself into believing that it was her incessant inquiring of 'When can I see people?' (because they all knew that her family wasn't showing up anytime soon) was what had finally broke down her Healer's seemingly strict visitor policy. It wasn't fair, really, and made little sense because she was fine to begin with, and didn't exactly understand why Mungo's was keeping her here for so long. They kept alluding to 'lingering effects' and 'mental health,' not to mention physical safety (it appeared that the Ministry had finally taken some interest in her and Thomas), but she felt... fine. Truly, and honestly, fine for what she and Thomas had gone through.

Perhaps it was that everything hadn't set in yet, or even more hopefully, it had and all smacked of finality enough that her mind had found peace. But regardless, Saoirse didn't dwell on it, and simply focused her attention on waiting for that moment when someone other than one of her Healers walked through that door. But it was a patient wait, so she had been forced to occupy her time otherwise.

She had just finished securing herself down into a comfortable position against the small mountain of pillows at the head of her bed when the door opened. All thoughts of taking a nap left her, and Saoirse shot up to meet this new face. She blinked, blankly, for a moment, apparently having been so focused on getting to this moment that she hadn't much thought about how to react after the fact. She pressed her hands into her sheets, and ducked her chin to her chest sheepishly.

ooc: so apparently Thomas and Saoirse are popular people and instead of flooding the comm with a million threads, Emma came up with the idea of a 'group' post of sorts where the two can have various threads with whoever wants to visit.

"There are potions for that," Thomas let out in a soft chuckle. He pointed to his hair, "I might need them first."

He felt like he'd aged more than a century with the way he felt compelled to do not much of anything. The physical attack, the mental stress he'd taken on thinking, dreading that Kendall and Rose were in trouble too. That he couldn't protect Saoirse when he was her captain and---the logical part of him knew that titles meant nothing, that he would have been forced into that white van even if he'd continued to fight, but it just---his decisions and actions weighed heavily on him, even if things had turned out all right.

Thomas dropped his gaze for a moment, but then peered over to the bag of food. It amused him that Kendall had brought comfort food, but he wasn't sure how his stomach could handle it. He rubbed his hands together, trying to think about anything but what had happened and the slight nausea that had overcome him.

"Did you pick up any new players?"

"As long as we are old and grey together." Kendall said with a small laugh, a smile gracing his lips for the first time.

Kendall rubbed his hand over his head and down the back of his neck. Honestly, he hadn't even thought of the Wanderer's, although it was definitely something he needed to stop putting off he planned to have a decent team to work with by the time preseason started. Just like Thomas to get straight to business.

"Oh yea. I've learned to be productive all on my own in the past couple of days. I haven't had a single slice of pie, went for a run." He kicked his chair back on its hind legs. The more time that passed sitting in the room, the better he felt. And the awkwardness he felt when he first arrived was fading away. "Soon I might even move out of your guest room."

Thomas grinned, "That's very impressive, but...who will cook my dinner?"

He'd been concerned about his friends' well-being when he'd awoken and had been assured over and over again by the healers and his family that everyone was all right. It didn't matter to Thomas until he saw them, and he was glad that Kendall only looked a bit rattled. He could understand that, of course, as Thomas was sure he would've gone mad if either Kendall or Rose had gone missing, but all the same. He was relieved, and thankful that Kendall was managing to keep the lighter tone with him.

"I was going to ask my parents to bring in the pitch blue prints," Thomas said, picking at a thread in the blanket that was draped over his legs, "But then I thought my sister might get a hold of it and I'd lose all creative control."

He lifted a hand and waved it dramatically, "It would end up in Pride purple and gold and I'd have to burn it down after opening day."
