Lucy! (Backdated to valentine's whoops)
It had been a while since the Lovegoods had snuck out for a date night on their own. Mostly because it was so very difficult for either of them to spend any time away from little Luna.

Even though the Prophet was a competing paper and Xeno was hesitant to contribute any money to such a typical and oblivious reporting institution, the carnival sounded like such a fun idea that Lucy was bound to love.

Obviously, he wasn’t the only one who thought the Prophet wasn’t worth their time, as there wasn’t nearly the crowd one would expect. Xeno was sure the Prophet would have you believe that everyone was sick with some virus that was sweeping the nation. When in all reality there was no virus at all. He had warned everyone in the Quibbler that a wizard trying to smuggle Siberian Finklephants into the country lost track of his shipment. And everyone knew one bite from those tricky buggers caused mild hallucinations and dizziness. Anyone who read his article knew that finklephants were warded off by drinking chocolate milk. Subscriptions were bound to go up once people realized the truth.

He laced his fingers in his wife’s and leaned over to give her a kiss underneath the twinkling lights of the entrance. “Happy Valentine’s Day love. What would you like to do first?”

Oh--oh, Lucy knew that she should not be enjoying herself so much tonight. Because--she was head over heels for her husband and it had come to her attention via friends and neighbors that they never seemed to spend any time alone together, but... How could one bear to part with precious Luna Solaria Lovegood! Lucy was quite certain that there had been fewer than five minutes since her fairy princess had been born that they had been apart, and she really didn't feel that it was very family-like, now since they were indeed a unit of three, to not be near each other at all times, but---

Oh, how enchanting!

All it took was one sparking twinkle of the lights reflected in her eyes, and Lucy knew that, Luna or not, this had been a good idea. She hardly had to think as she leaned up on tip-toes to catch Xenophilius's lips with her own, parting slowly as her lips curled into a brilliant smile, devoid of any of the apprehensions of two seconds earlier.

Well, it couldn't hurt, for just one night, right? And Lucy did so adore carnivals...

Yes. Yes, this would be brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!!

Clasping her husband's hand, she took off at a fast walk towards the sparkliest, happiest looking booths, a glittering, blinding display of blinking lights with rows of fluffy rabbits and kestrels and dragons, all slightly animated and all adorable.

"Lucy would like to play some games first!" she declared, shooting him one more look at the grin now permanently stuck to her face for the night.
